It's been a year since someone (I believe it was Ickis) who posted a topic called "The worst Game Store Experience" but now I'm going to start a topic with a new half twist in the plot.

Let me explain my story:

About 6-7 days ago I was busy working on one of my games (Let's call this Trainz Railroad simulator 2004 made by a company called Auran), and I needed to go to their website to download some content so I could get a layout working right.

Well much to my surprise and chagrin, I found out when I logged on (or rather tried to Log on) to their site, I was refused admission. After a moment of head scratching I went to check out my account status with the company that i had registered the Product I had purchased legally, and found out that I had been locked out. Okay now this was odd. So I decided to check my computer's own security program to see if someone had been sneaking in and doing something that they shouldn't have.

And guess what? I was hacked.

Yes folks I was being punished because some fool hacker decided to use my information to try and illegally register a product that I hadn't even bought yet (the Interesting thing is this.. I was planning to purchase this product in the upcoming month/week ahead as I had been a good customer with the company for something like 5 years and never once violated any of their registering or compliance guide lines in their forums).

So I figured a simple comment to the company's helpdesk about what was going on would solve tthis problem in a timely manner and I would be back in business. So I decided to contact their "Customer Service Help Desk" and see what they and I could do to resolve the situation at hand.

So to make a long story short, I sent an email to the company explaining what had happened, and that I had my identity compromised, and even told them that I wasn't the one that was doing this issue, that i had my information stolen from me, and that someone was passing themselves off as me.

I hoped that I would have gotten a response some form of email in as little as 2-3 days...

and now... it's been 5 days.

Frankly this type of thing is rather disturbing. You go out and purchase a product from a local gaming store, or even a company online, you register the product, and you enjoy it. But I thought this was a very unusual case where I'm getting punished for some hacker who used my information against me.

Now this also brings up a question. Has anyone registered a game product online or had an experience where they've tried to get customer service from a Game Company to resolve a situation or issue? (I mean I have seen some companies do great customer service for their patrons who purchase their products, but then there are these rather unique once in a lifetime instances where you can be looking for help and get nothing back in return).

I mean let's face it.. Here I am getting ready to purchase a game from this company I have been loyal to for over half a decade, and in fact the product that i want to purchase will cost me 30 bucks plus shipping (as it's coming all the way from Austrailia) and the company doesn't want to give me the time of day.

Well it's starting to look like this company is about to lose 30 bucks in the process as I go purchase something else.

The point is this: Have you or anyone you know have experienced bad customer service from a gaming company (now this is the Company itself and not a game store. For example EA Games, Microsoft, Take Two, Nintendo, Sony, etc).

After all I hate to complain, but when you are about ready to make a new purchase and a company you have come to love and trust turns a cold shoulder to you, it makes you wonder.. why plop down the cash if their help service isn't going to help you solve a problem or an issue? After all Even though it's my cash till I purchase the product, I have the last say, and if they want my cash so bad, then why not give a customer a little help here.

Well at this point I'm going to just end this commenting rant here, and start thinking of spending my 30 bucks elsewhere other than this Auran company. After all The Sims 2:Seasons expansion pack is starting to look nice right about now.

But I'm done talking but let's hear your Game Company Customer service Horror stories...

This guy came into Target demanding a refund for a UMD... because it didn't fit in his DVD player.

Idiots.
