By Bill Banks

The below is the preview for Thursday’s “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV as TNA Wrestling prepares for the “Sacrifice” Pay-Per-View event on Sunday, May 13!

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER – STING VS. KURT ANGLE
It’s a dream match TNA Wrestling fans have been waiting years to witness and it all goes down this Thursday night on “iMPACT!’ on SpikeTV as Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle will battle the icon known as Sting! The winner of the bout will go on to face Christian Cage at “Sacrifice” for the World Heavyweight Title! Former team members at Lockdown will now step into the ring as rivals this Thursday with a shot at the gold on the line. Will Sting win and remain the number-one contender, or will Angle earn the shot he believes should rightfully be his? Tune in this Thursday night on SpikeTV at 9pm to see this epic showdown!

WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH – TEAM 3D VS. SCOTT STEINER & TOMKO
Another huge match set to take place on Thursday’s “iMPACT!” will see new World Tag Team Champions Team 3D defend the gold against the team of “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner and the juggernaut Tomko! After defending the titles last week against Christian Cage and Abyss, can Team 3D continue to turn back the onslaught when they face two more of Cage’s army? Team 3D is vowing to defending the gold against anyone at anytime, but can they keep up this pace against the best in TNA Wrestling? Will Steiner and Tomko become new World Tag Team Champions? Tune in this Thursday to find out!

WILL ERIC YOUNG REVEAL THE IDENTITY OF HIS “FRIEND” ?
This past week, Robert Roode warned Eric Young that if he didn’t reveal the identity of his “friend” this Thursday night, he would personally fire him from TNA Wrestling! With Young’s back up against the wall, will he reveal who his friend is this Thursday night – or be fired from TNA Wrestling forever? Thus far, Young has revealed nothing about the identity of this individual and is unsure of what he will do when the time comes on “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV!

CHRIS SABIN’S SUICIDE STAMPEDE TO DETERMINE HIS OPPONENTS
Who will challenge Chris Sabin for the X Championship at Sacrifice? We’ll find out this Thursday night with the “Sabin Suicide Stampede” bout set to take place! Four teams of X Division stars will compete in the bout with the winning team earning the shot at “Sacrifice” in a three-way match against Sabin! The teams announced for the bout are as follows: Jerry Lynn & Petey Williams, Serotonin, Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt, Alex Shelley & Shark Boy.

All this and much more this Thursday night on “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV at 9pm as TNA Wrestling heads toward May’s “Sacrifice” Pay-Per-View event on Sunday, May 13!

Jeff Jarrett... now that actually made sense!

The Jarrett stuff was well done and cements him as a face from this point on. I think all the haters were persuaded with that. Other than that though, it was pretty overbooked

about don west's comment on jarret's 'close relationship' with eric young....sorry don, but from where i'm standing jarret treated eric just as badly as roode...not to the point of giving a bloody handcuffed beatdown, but he was still the long-suffering jarret lackey that was given a dress down frequently. the major diffrence being that mrs. brooks is alot easier to look at than coach De'amore.;)

Eric was a lackey for Jeff, and Jeff didn't always treat him great, but it was a completely different dynamic. Jeff didn't try to make Eric miserable, and Eric didn't resent Jeff in the same way. Some people don't mind being lackeys if they really like the guy they're... lacking for. In fact, remember Eric going out of his way to try to help Jeff pass the lie detector test? Eric was a guy seeking Jeff's approval. That Eric would stay in contact with Jeff during the time he was gone, and Jeff warming up to Eric as he's coming to terms with his 'downfall', is completely plausible and satisfying to me.

yeah, they were different. no denying what you brought up(though jarret did seem to me like he was always trying to make eric's life pretty miserable-feeding his fears of being fired, sending him out on missions to foil sting, calling him an idiot and moron and bullying him in from of his whole faction etc...) and it's a good resolution to the whole angle they've been building. i just always have to laugh at the face announcers like west that just whitewash the past as if the two were old fishing buddies. but hey, that's wrestling lol. i know for effect he can't just yell, 'the former a-hole that treated him like crap just came to his rescue!' still makes me laugh though.

Wow. So Sting got robbed, by both Angle and the writers.

Overall, one of the better Impacts in some time.... note Abyss' blood still on the mat, folks...

I figured something was up when we have Sting/Angle as the first match.... the ending was predictable.... as was Sting/Cage later on.... Still entertaining, though....

Jeff Jarrett is the friend. Not only does it make sense storyline-wise, but it cements Double J as a face (not to mention keeps him out of the world title picture). I normally would not advocate something like this, but the guitar shot to Ms. Brooks was deserved and satisfying. :D

The Dudley Boyz are enjoying their final title run. Kudos to TNA for sending them into the sunset in style.

After monthes of silliness, TNA is starting to right themselves. At least we're getting more actual wrestling.

I've totally jumped ship now from WWE to TNA. My buddies have been telling me to forever. I finally did, and wow, I can't believe what I was missing! I picked up the 50 greatest TNA moments. It was pretty darn good. :)

I've totally jumped ship now from WWE to TNA.Glad you've joined us in support of a company not afraid of the word 'wrestling'. :)

Although now that I think about it, it is kinda funny that they're like the only American wrestling company ever not to have that word in their name.

Wow, Team Cage just destroyed Kurt Angle at the top of the show! Christian’s promo after was good, but I think he got more than he bargained for. What the heck was Don West doing running back there?!

I was talking with one of my RAs so I have no idea what was happening in the match with all the X Division wrestlers—seemed confusing to me. I suppose I’ll see if I remember to catch it tonight to figure out what happened.

After all the verbal abuse, it was great seeing Virgil finally attack DiBiase… I mean good to see Eric Young stick up for himself. ;) Didn’t last very long though. So Jeff Jarrett was Eric’s friend? Double J is like super face!!!

With Scott Steiner telling Tomko to “dot your T’s and cross your I’s” it’s no wonder they didn’t win the titles before LAX rushed the ring. Team 3D isn’t going to get much ‘fighting champions’ credit if they can’t actually finish a match.

 Backlund vs. Sabin looks like a winner!!!

Christian owes Angle one now. I’d go so far as to say this isn’t over yet. ;)
