Hey...
Sorry to bother you guys with a little question, but how do you add a pic under your naem (in the lefthand column)?
Thanks,
Alex

That's called an avatar. You can make one yourself, or you can have one of the many helpful people on this site make one for you. For more information on them, click on the FAQ button at the top of this page, and you'll find some info there. In the meantime, keep posting, because you need 10 posts before you can have an avatar.
And welcome to the site!

No problem! And like I said, if you've got problems making one yourself, just let us know, and one of us will make one for you. There are several people on the boards here that love to make avatars for newcomers, myself included.

Wow, you make them? Not just cut and paste from other sites? How does that work?
Thanks again...I've been at this board (in one of its many incarnations) for a few years, but I've been away awhile...still trying to figure out all the things that seem so foreign...

Well, most of the time its cuting, pasting, and resizing. A lot of times a newbie will have problems getting a pic they like resized to fit the requirements, and so one of us will help them out. Some people on the boards are artists and like to draw their own art, and then scan it in and make it into an avatar. And some people can even create animated avatars.

How exactly do you edit pictures? I keep trying, but no matter how small I get the pic, it keeps telling me that the image is too large.
Any tips?

You've got to get it down to 75X75 pixels. What program are you using to resize it? If you're having problems, you can e-mail it to me and I'll resize it for ya.

I've been using a bunch of programs...Microsoft imaging, the paint program, Microsoft Picture It....none of it seems to work...
any suggestions? Or should I just email one of you helpful people?
Thanks for everything, everyone!
