I started reading this when I was like ten and I read the whole series in a year, now Togashi has been sick for I believe almost three years, Im fourteen now and I'm wondering. Is the sickness life-threatening like cancer or something? I believe lots of people completely forgot about this manga/anime. Anybody know about his condition and if he is cured but just decided to quit it?

Togashi has chronic back pain that prevent him from sitting and drawing for long period of time. I believe a lot of his Jump chapters were drawn in bed. That's why the Jump chapters often look horrible, but then get cleaned up for the tankoubon release.

Dang, So I guess he's not going to continue the manga? Next to One Piece this was my favorite. Ah well. :crying:

Yeah, one of the funnier rumors about the whole debartical that his wife, Naoko Takeuchi, was going to take the reins of HunterXHunter.
She even had to joke it off on her own website, allegedly.

Well most of the fans have given up hope of any future chapters includong me. It was good but its time to let go, its been over a year.

Well, given Toki*Mecha finsihed it's run about six months ago, Naoko is free to actauly pen it if she chooses to do so.

I hope she does. One of the tankoubon includes her take on Biscuit and it's rather cute :p

Togashi would still write the scenario but someone else would draw it. The problem is it would feel very different.

Unless I'm wrong it's stalled at volume 23.
