View Full Version : What's the Stupidest Cartoon you've ever seen in the 2000s?

Mine are:

-Dora The Explorer: Reason?:The first billangual (or whatever) show in 2000 was excellent. But then, three years later,it turned into crap. She went overatted to those addictive watchers.

-Go Diego Go!:Reason?:Beacuse it's a ripoff of Dora,which is stupider that ever,now.

-Maya and Miguel: Reason?: Even though it teaches me spanish (and that's all I like), it's all about Maya Santos and her two girlfriends hanging out (they are in almost every episode),and that annoying Paco the Parrot. There's one problem, WHERE's MIGUEL SANTOS?!. Man, I feel bad for Miguel, HIS own friends are barley in a episode. I feel that he needs to have some episodes without Maya. He's always used for Maya's stupidest ideas yet, and he can never run away from her, because he never wants her to pay the price. Call it The MAYA show if you ask me, kid. At least Voice Vetran Candi Milo is in it.

-El Tigre: Reason?: It sucks, period. At least there's Grey DeLisie in it.

OKAY! Don't hate me for hating spanish shows, I just wish the shows had a little bit more power in it. I like Mucha Lucha and Edruadro from Foster's. Here are some shows I Hate:

-The Buzz on Maggie: wait, that didn't excatlly suck.

-The Emperor's New School:Reason? :Even though the show stayed a little same as the 2000 film, the tv show shows me that some Disney movies can't be made into a series( but Lilo & Stitch:The Series and Jimmy Neutron proved me wrong). The new voice of Kuzco is annoying, and that Melina is boring. At Least Patrick Warbuton (Buzz Lightyear character in the TV series, and Joe Swanson in family Guy), reprises his Kronk role and Eartha Kitt reprises her Yzma role.

Ya'll thought that I never get into the Cartoon Network new Shows: Here I Go!

-My Gym Partner's A Monkey: Reason?: Nika Futterman(Miguel in Maya and Miguel) and Tom Kenny (Spongebob) voices the crappy characters Adam Lyon and Jake The Spidermonkey who gets into stupid adventures (like dating, and parties). At Least, there's Phil LaMarr (MADtv, Foster's, Class Of 3000) as Virgil the Bullshark.

-Squirrel Boy: Reason?: When I first watched this show, I felt confidence in CN to cancel this show pronto, but hoped left when they ordered another season. I thought that I should just pick another career and write for Scrubs-like shows, but I was gonna put that in my career anyway.ENOUGH ABOUT ME, lets get back onto the show! pamella Segall Aldon (Spenelli in Recess, Bobby Hill in King of the Hill, Otto in Time Squad) voices Andy, a kid who falls for Rodney's (Richard Horvitz, the voice of Billy on Billy and Mandy, Dagget in The Angry Beavers, and Zim on Invader Zim), a crappy squirell. Andy's dad Bob Johnson (Kurtwood Smith, who played Red on That's 70's Show).

That's it for me. Tell me any show you hate. I would type up my hate for The New Simpsons, but I'm tired. Later.

I'm just curios but why do you have two threads for the same subject?

Putting pre-school shows into the equation seems a trite unfair, don't you think? As far as our age group is concerned, they're bound to seem stupid.

I can't see this thread developing far beyond a cesspool of argument and hatred with to and fros between those who think a show's stupid and those who think a show's awesome. So let me tweak the question a tad...

RoseBusch, what 2000s cartoons do you like?

Does the poll imply Naruto is poorly dubbed? Since it isn't.

How are The Simpsons stupid? You may disagree with the quality of the new episodes, but I don't think that makes it stupid. It just makes it not good.

And Futurama definately isn't stupid. Not at all.

I honestly don't think shows that are purposely stupid should count. Like Family Guy or Spongebob. REALLY stupid shows are stupid because the people who write them have no idea how to be clever, witty or original. Shows like Family Guy write stupid jokes with (sometimes) clever execution.

Stuff like My Gym Partner...., Squirrel Boy, or Robotboy are stupid because they try to be those qualities but fail miserably. I've watched episodes of these shows and they just reek of "been there", with jokes so predictable John Edwards could see them coming without cold reading.

I hope that makes sense. I'm very tired.

When it comes to illogical, nonsensical, just-turn-your-brain-off-already stupidity, I don't think anything can top the delightful train wreck that was "Mr. T: The Animated Series".

Don't believe me? http://www.agonybooth.com/extras/mr_t/

Before it gets too far, Im going to remind those who read and post in this thread, that you need to back up your opinions with thoughtful reasoning, and not just put "it sucks!".

Bashing shows is a form of flame bait so keep this in mind. You can dislike a show, but please explain what it is you don't like. Simply saying something "sucks" doesn't fly.

I absolutely can't STAND The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. If I want to see half-hour poop, fart, and booger jokes, I'll watch Ren and Stimpy. At least it has nostalgia going for it.

This isn't just a "bash a show because you dislike" it thread. This is speicfically talking about how stupid a cartoon is right? As in the idioticy of the characterization, the plots, the premise and the general feel of it. So even if there is some shows you all hate that dosen't neccasrily mean they're stupid. However, I do have to agree with RoseBusch on one of the choices on the poll. One show that although I dislike and actually makes me sick feel also fails on a pure level of intellegence. Something that only tries to succeed with stupid and gross humor whose moronic character, situations and just plain retarded style actually kill brain cells when in the presence of this show. Okay maybe that's a little harsh... if I was talking about any other show then Mr. Meaty. Maybe not a technical "Cartoon" but it's still considered a Nicktoon and is an eyesore to look at. I mean you can even see the strings of the puppets which means it's not even well thought out puppetry either, let alone the stupid premise of the gross stuff these puppets do in every episode. It's one show I feel should just be forgotten and burned about if only to help the intellegence of viewers who have been even the slightest bit dumbed down having to watch the show.

... Kind of ranty but hey, it's stupid and deserves to be mentioned as such.

Normally, I tend to just stay away from these kind of threads, but I've finally decided to take the plunge and have my say here.

Pet Alien. That's all. Sorry for those who like it but as for me, there's one major flaw in that. The writing. They tried to be original and unpredictable in each episode (with every title based off some Horror Movie for some reason) but they really just fell flat there. The plotlines seem to just stray and lose itself in most episodes, there's no proper character development at all and - my biggest irk - there's like three bullies in the whole series that pick on the main character and the number of times when they get their comuppance are the same number of pink penguins in this world.

Even though they did justice in creating Tex Avery-esque designs and gags, the writing was the biggest fault in its downfall. Not even Charles Alder or Candi Milo could save this show.

From the list, definitely the Proud Family. I actually thought it started off okay, a nice cartoon about a close-knit black family, and looked promising. After a while though, it just got surreal and ridiculous, and the family became more dysfunctional than the Simpsons or the Griffins. Surrealism is fine in some cartoons, but it just didn't fit in with what I thought The Proud Family was meant to be. And the plots just got absurd after a while.

WOW. A lot of good choices

Proud Family

Emperor New School...

I actually like Mr. Meaty. Better that show than Oddparents.

I heartly dislike 'Bratz' for it's shameless showcasing of *very* shallow values. I do hope the girl viewers aren't taking it seriously.

That was a painfully awful series, all right, but it doesn't qualify for this thread's time frame.

Question: did you actually see any early episode all the way through?

Lord. i feel old...

i believe one of the reasons why cartoons nowadays aren't as great is because they aren't thrown into completely random situations unexplained. for example, dora becoming a garbage collector in on episode without further explainmation, and then is a siberian coastal guard in the very next.

today's cartoon characters are fully aware of their situations/surroundings and are only permitted to "imagine" or "dream" these random scenarios, which basically takes the fun out of the cartoon itself. which might explain why so many cartoon nowadays are "boring." i blame rugrats and the simpsons for this (though they did some phenominal and ground breaking things).

if i can nominate a cartoon i'd suggest lilo & stich or that buzz lightyear cartoons. those cartoons bore me to tears. and i personally think have the stupidest concepts.

Bratz, that was true rubbish. I would've said Mr-Meaty if I saw it before my vote but I didn't notice it and how on Earth does Mr-Meaty count as a cartoon? Its just poor-quality puppets!
