Didn't see a thread on this anywhere.

Don't worry Sony, you still have MGS4.

*waits for Konami to announce the 360 version*

Wow, makes you wish the Article was more than just a paragraph stating the game isn't exclusive and what Final Fantasy is.
No source outside of that? Makes it hard to believe.

If it's going to the 360, it might as well still be a PS3 exclusive, since I'm not getting a 360.
But if it goes to the Wii, then I might have to reconsider on getting a PS3. Probably won't happen, though.
This is still a pretty vague report, so we don't know exactly what is going to happen.

If thats real, then the PS3 is now well and truly doomed.
Of course its probably isn't so I can't say that yet.

Apparently this come from a PSM Australia interview (http://reminem.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=73&Itemid=2)where Square Enix director Motomu Toriyama mention this. So look like it might be true.

The announcement in the magazine, as I understand it (http://www.psu.com/node/9798) is that Fabula Nova Crystallis will consist of more than just the three titles already announced (XIII and Versus XIII for PS3, Agito XIII for mobile phones). These additional games won't be exclusive, but the core game probably will.

Nah. Square likes their hi-res, DVD-quality cutscenes too much. And since they're striving to match gameplay graphics to these high-quality cutscenes, (one of the goals of FF PS3 games), it definately won't go to the Wii.

I dont know. I doubt SE will make a new game for the 360. They probably just port XIII and XIII Versus to 360 to save money in development. The DS might get a new one since it easier to developed.

If it's not exclusive, then I'm not sure about which console would get it...
While the 360 is certainly much more appropriate for the graphical qualities, it's important to remember that the biggest FF fanbase is in Japan, where there's almost no support for the 360 outside of the occasional snagged Japanese license. Even if they did get it, people in Japan would probably still just get it on the PS3 since there would be a greater number of other Japanese licenses on that console.
The Wii, on the other hand, definitely lacks the graphical prowess to allow it to look any better than one of the PS2 FF games (which are beautiful, though)...however, it has a much greater Japanese user base and connections to the immensely popular DS.
It could go either way, but the bottom line is that it's not good for Sony.

I wouldn't be surprised if this has anything to do with Blu-ray not holding that much data.

I was going to get a PS3 for their online community, MGS4, and FFXIII. But now that Final Fantasy's going to get ported, I might as well stick with my 360. Chances are Metal Gear will end up on the 360 too so it'd be stupid spending $600+ on an on-line community that looks promising but in the end might not deliver.

The interview didn't say that FF XIII is going to get ported, though. It was that the Nova Crystallis project is larger in scope than just the PS3 titles. Anything else at this point is just speculation.

I want #13 ported, though. AND MGS4. The PS3 is just too much money, and I'll want to play its good titles while they're still fresh.

So DS port confirmed?

I wouldn't put it past Square and Sony that this is one big attempt to draw stragglers in to the Playstation by cross-platforming side games, yet still keeping the main titles exclusive.

Try again salivating Wii60 fans.
The Fabula Nova Crystalis Compilation was never exclusive to PS3. FFXIII, on the other hand, is. This was taken totally out of context by people obviously lacking reading comprehension skills.

Nobody knows for sure yet. Right now it's slated as an exclusive but there's so many reports floating around that Kojima and Konami are thinking about porting it to the 360 that it's hard to tell right now.

Bummer. I was hoping that it would end up on the 360 so I could see the Sony fanboys act retarted again just like they did with the DMC 4 announcement.

Repeating again: FFXIII itself is still officially a PS3 exclusive.
Also repeating this concept from an older discussion: FFXIII's exclusivity will neither make nor break the PS3. One game cannot dictate a console's success; in fact, if FFXIII is the only thing the PS3 has going for it (which it isn't), the console would already be DOA.

Not that it would particularly hurt the PS3 to port FF out like this either...

Yep, it works both ways. As I've said before, a console's success is dependant on it having a stable of high-profile exclusives. Big names like Final Fantasy and the like certainly help, but they're only part of the equation. The attach rates for Final Fantasy games, even FFVII, are shockingly low, simply because the PlayStation consoles have historically had enormous installed bases.

Too bad, I came into this topic hoping that FFXIII really was coming out for the Xbox360. J-RPGs and such is the only reason I'm still considering getting a PS3 someday.
I'm already planing to get a 360 for the online, So, If they could only get the Japanese support, I'd be set.
