Just got the new issue today and there's a few neat things to list:
One Piece's two chapter were called 'Drum Island 1' and 'Drum Island 2' as is being done with Naruto being called 'Orochimaru's Invasion'.
Yu Yu Hakusho is being called by 'Tunnel to the Demon Plane' or something like that.
Yu-Gi-Oh! finally gets two chapters per issue again, GX continues the trend of one chapter but we neat card info and a promo card.
Hoshin Engi preview, forty-seven pages.
EDIT:
I forgot, Naruto has four chapters this month and will have five next month. Bo^7 makes it's grand return next month, too.

Weird.
Maybe thats just for the magazine?

Apparently, from what I read, the final 12 volumes of Part 1/Kakashi Gaiden will be put out in the last 4 months of the year. So it seems like they're trying to rush through to get to the start of Part 2, for some reason.
I think this seems a bit excessive, especially since Part 2 won't be over here in animated form for another 2 years or so.

Yeah, they are also releasing the Naruto art book in October as well. Hopefully Viz will release the 2 character guide books and the fan book.
Now I know the manga is seperate from the anime, but maybe this rushing of the manga is a sign that Viz will skip that awful filler and just go to Naruto Shippuden some time next year.
KuwabaraTheMan
04-17-2007, 08:47 PM
Perhaps. Even without filler, we'd still be looking at next summer for Shippuuden. But I just don't see it happening. Why skip episodes that they could pimp out for more money?
I definitely second the request for the 2 Databooks and the Fanbook.

I worry about the end of PT.1 - Kakashi Gaiden - PT.2 making it into Shonen Jump without being toned down too much.
The violence is too much for Shonen Jump. Graphic novels, yes! But, not Shonen Jump.
Royce

Well, they could just release those episodes on dvd only, like a lost episodes box set. Great way to sucker those that have never seen them.
But this is all wishful thinking. We'll just have to wait and see next year.

Can someone answer me this... why.. in the HELL is the GX manga there? Just...Why?
Yugioh is OVER. abriged series is basically the only thing of it now. Nobody likes GX.
That Dragon Drive manga they previewed looked a lot more interesting than it or Gintama, which they apparently dropped since there was really no plot... even though there easily could have been.

They still want to attract the Yu-Gi-Oh! card players, and promote the trading card game. It's been part of their success since they started. By the way, the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga still has a few chapters left and the GX fan base, though not as large as the original Yu-Gi-Oh!, is still fairly numerous. Gin Tama was not dropped, as they were only planning to seralize the first volume.

The GX is twenty times better then the Anime because Takahashi supervises and Jūdai's backstory is awesom.

Gin Tama wasn't supposed to be very plot-heavy. It was a comedy. A good one, at that.

Doesn't Takahashi do supervision for the anime too? And I actually would prefer Yu-Gi-Oh! R over GX. If the current rate of 2 chapters an issue continues then Yu-Gi-Oh! is done on Dec. 2007. Perhaps Yu-Gi-Oh! R will be the "something HUGE"? Probably not.

Wow 4-5 Chapters a month? That's some crazy stuff. Obviously they're aiming to get to part 2 so it can have time in the magazine before it hits TV (which will probably be in Fall of 2008).
I don't have a problem with that except it's not fair to the other series to only give Naruto that benefit. Why not let One Piece, Shaman King, HnG, YYH (heck just let that finish in GN's already) have 4 chapters per magazine? Sigh... At least something has a "months worth" of content now.

same thing that happened to shaman king in japan is happening here, it's running waaaaay too long.
Looking at it now, you'd think it was ending soon, right? It goes on for TWENTY more volumes. Don`t ask me how the shaman tournament lasts that long.. I have no idea why he stretched it to such rediculous lengths and then didn`t even bother to give the series an ending.
I`ll ease off on GX but two YGOs at the same time is a bit much. They should have waited until millenium world was over, and done GX in GNs.

...Oh man, Shaman King has 20 more volumes? The manga feels like it has maybe 20 chapters more, not 20 volumes. For that matter, why is it so freaking long if it doesn't even have an ending?

Hopefully they don't over-due it and then we end up wtih a "hurry up and wait" situation but it would take a lot of translating and dubbing for that to happen and they've still got plenty of stuff to cover. But if Shippuden starts in Winter or Spring of 2008 in Jump then I could definently see Shippuden start in Fall of 2008 or at the latest Spring of 2009.

You think after the current stage of the Naruto manga ends Viz will split all the post time jump volumes off like they did with Dragon Ball and DBZ?
Silly as it sounds I hope the don't. I think it'll looker on my self to have one continuos line of them.
Geez, Shaman King volume 12 just came out and it ends (stops) with volume 32. That's exactly 20 more. One Piece is only up to volume 14 and it has over 30 more volumes and is still going. And it already takes forever between volumes for both series.

Shamn King's manga ending for anyone curious, via wikipedia
In November of 2004, Shaman King was canceled by Weekly Shonen Jump. Shaman King was let go due to declining popularity in Jump's fan polls (indicated by their willingness to release the final completed manga volume (Vol. 32) if there was a great enough fan response).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaman_King#_note-0) This cancellation was untimely given that the series was nearing its end.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaman_King#_note-1) Release of the final volume had been suspended indefinitely, but was released in spring of 2006.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaman_King#_note-2)
Volume 32 ends with Yoh going to sleep to prepare for the final battle with Hao; the final page can be viewed as his dream, which features Hao as a princess with Yoh and his friends on their way to rescue "her". The page contains the words "Owari" ("The End") and next to that, in front of Horohoro's sword, is a mandarin orange (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandarin_orange), also called "mikan" which is the Japanese word for "incomplete". Several fans of the series are trying to get Shonen Jump to revive Shaman King due to this incomplete ending.

Wikipedia's entry is not QUITE how it goes... you also see Anna with Anahol and Manta leaving with everybody else to meet up with Yoh and the gang. They'll need all the help they can get to save the world, and Hao himself, from Hao (hence the princess needing rescue motif).

More Ninja Than Ever!
We don't need a sixth sense to know you want to read more Naruto. In fact we know that there's more Naruto Manga in your future. That's because starting thi issue we've bumped up the number of chapters to a whopping four total. Andnext month we'll even go up to five. If this all sounds too good to be true, it's not--and there's more. All of this manga madness is building up to our big issue in January next year, when we'll unveil and extra special treat that will rock the Naruto world (and yours). I mostly just wait for the GNs to be relese and read the Manga there.
What, I don't like is how VIZ relese Shaman King, so slow. Seeing, as how it goes up to Volume 32, its going to be a long time before VIZ finished this series.

So I finally got this JUMP today, and I've got a few thoughts.
1. Way too much Naruto. 3 chapters is fine, but 4 is pushing it, and 5 is way too many. It's not fair to the other series to be released at only 1 chapter a month.
2. Very glad to see Yugi back on the cover. Reminds me of the good ol' days back in 2005 when 2/3 of the covers featured Yugi. It gives me hope that they're going to bring over Yu-Gi-Oh! R in addition to GX.
3. Renewal time for me. I'm not looking forward to paying $30 if Shonen JUMP becomes Naruto JUMP. I buy it for the variety. I'll probably end up resubscribing though, and see how the year turns out.
If the amazon release schedule is to be believed, viz is gonna start releasing 3 volumes a month, every month starting in september. That'll take them up to the time-jump volumes by next year.
As for this tidbit, it's just crazy. It puts Naruto in a really awkward position for staying in Shonen JUMP for the last 4 months of the year. And if this is a true fact, then I bet Part II will start in Shonen JUMP January '08.

That's why I think the only way for this to make sense is if Naruto is removed from the magazine. The chapters in the magazine will be far behind the graphic novels, especially when it gets to three Naruto volumes each month from Sept-Dec.
Unless it really becomes "Naruto Jump" meaning all the chapters are Naruto.
But that will be too insane.

If it went weekly? Maybe, but right now $4.99 an issue for 380 pages is pretty good. If the issues were doubled then $9.99 for 700 pages would be well worth it.

I figured this is what would happen. But it still doesn't explain how Naruto will be handled in JUMP this Sept.-Dec. I doubt they would publish chapters that have been already released in Graphic Novels.

Finally got my issue, with rips and part of the cover missing...
Some good manga, preview wasn't that great, and disspaointed by Shaman King and Hiraku No Go, but fortunatly they aren't my favorite series in the magazine. Naruto was normal, yu yu hakasho dipped from last issue, and my fav part was One Piece. Yu-Gi-Oh Sereis constantly make me yawn of boredom.
Loving the Eyeshield article :p , and i can't bleieve i hafta wait a month for a new volume(I read 12+13 last week), oh well, hopefully it'll be once a month again(doubtful).
Issue was good, so is yu-gi-oh 2000 world almost done? It's sems like its going on and on and on and on..
I'd liek it if SJ went bi-weekly. One Chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh GX, Yu-Gi-Oh Millenium World, and Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo, Shaman King, and Hiraku No Go. 2 Chapters of YuYu Hakasho and One Piece, and 3 chapters of Naruto. Every other week Bo-bobo is repalced by a manga preview, and when YGO:MW leaves..., Eyeshield 21 :p

I was glad to see Hikaru No Go was still in this months issue. I was worried when they talked about the changes that had been made, and I can't wait until Bobobo cpmes to manga from the beginning next month.
I was glad to see a duel between Jaden and Alexis begin, though Jaden doesn't have all the cards he has in the anime in the manga so far, but I wish they'd give it multiple chapters instead of going so slow with it.

You know. I hope they do something like that for One Piece. Maybe, Shaman King and Yu Yu Hakusho, to.
One Piece has way more volumes than Naruto. One Piece has like 40+ and so far only the first 14 are relese here. One Piece is way behind. I hope with FUNi's dub One Piece, it does well, so that they may do that with the Manga.
As for Shaman King and Yu Yu Hakusho. Well, Shaman King is done. The Anime, is over, and 4Kids are done showing it, and it looks like Cartoon Network may not pick it up. VIZ should just put the rest of the series as GNs. Yu Yu Hakusho is done to. Cartoon Network has showed all the epiosdes. But, Yu Yu Hakusho isn't that long of a series, it goes up to volume 19.
Well, I guess we will see.

Aww that sucks... the Chinese names in pinyin fit MUCH better!
Sure it can be odd at first, and can get confusing if you don't follow (there's LOTS of characters by the end of the manga) but you get used to it. It's based on a classic Chinese novel for Raven sake!
The French did it...so why not ViZ? Too lazy --
Plus now if I want to discuss it with Americans I'll have to research the names -.- no one will know who is Shen Gongbao, Ximei, Wang Guiren, Wen Zhong, Zhao Gongming or He Chanyu!

So Shaman King is going graphic novel only?
I guess that makes sense, having been over in Japan for years, and not super popular in the US. Still, you'd think they'd put some of the titles still running in Japan in the magazine (Prince of Tennis, Bleach, Eyeshield 21, Hunter x Hunter(although that's on hiatus over there), D.Gray-man, Reborn, Gintama)
Hopefully they'll speed One Piece up a little bit as the new dub shows up. Maybe 3 chapters being the norm, and 4 chapters some months.

Bo^7 begins at Chapter 110.
For comparison, the previous one-shot covered chapters 93 through 107, so chapters 108 and 109 are left untranslated (which makes no sense, since those two chapters set up the whole Cyber City arc).
But, man, Shaman King leaving. I saw the signs that it would be leaving months ahead of time, but I wasn't sure it'd actually happen.
Bobobo chapter 110...that's a few chapters after where the one-shot manga left off, isn't it? Around the battle in Cyber City?
EDIT: Josh beat me to it. ^^;; Thanks.
Now that I look at it, it appears that chapter 110 is the start of a new volume. That'd be my guess why they started there.

Nope. After tis next issue I believe Naruto will leave the magizine until it returns in January 2008 to begin publishing volume 28. Viz says that they plan to release volumes bimonthly then (which would mean they'd have to publish four chapters in one issue, five in the next, for several months). We might actually wind up being only chapters behind Japan by the year 2009. My guess is:
January 2008: 245-248.

They are sort of unintentionally insulting themselves. And yeah, they don't seem to have that big of an attention span. I doubt they even remember Sandland.
But really, their Naruto plans are absurd. 3 volumes a month for four months? What teenager is going to spend A HUNDRED DOLLARS on Naruto in just a few months? That's absurd. They're just going to lose money off of this. I think it's stupid that they're just going to be doing some recapping in the magazine to get us up to speed on what they're doing in the tankoban-exclusive releases. Why don't they just make Naruto GN only? It'd make the magazine a lot better, in my opinion. Naruto hogs way too many pages, and is constantly on the cover. I get tired of him stealing the spotlight constantly. I'm surprised they're still running Yu Yu Hakusho and Hikaru no Go. They never promote them. Oh, and I hate how they're referring to the booting of Shaman King as its "graduation". Come on, "graduation"? That'd be like referring to Wulin Warriors and Duel Masters as "CN graduates".

I'm sure that wouldn't work out well for the magazine if Naruto was pulled completely. After this fuss with skipping so many volumes is over I'm sure the amount of chapters will go back to normal.
One thing I don't understand is why Viz is screwing with the Bobobo fans by giving it such a shoddy release.

Besides that they can go jump a cliff just for thier Mankin nonsence.
What Shaman King nonsense? It's not like this is the first time Viz has made one of its regular titles GN-only. The only difference is that SK isn't going to end its magazine run at the end of a saga, which should be further incentive to get people to buy the GNs.
Unless you believe that once a manga goes in the magazine its publication schedule shouldn't be changed in any way until the manga ends.

Yeah, I'm not too sure how this will turn out. Right now Shonen Jump is in a transition phase. It's had a pretty solid lineup for the last couple years but now a lot is changing. I guess we'll see if it's for better or for worse come January 2008.

So do they say what they're going to do with Naruto in the magazine when they switch over to the 3 GNs/month schedule? Just publish random chapters to get the non-GN readers up to speed on Naruto Part II? I still can't figure out what they're planning to do about that situation.
Nope, Naruto will leave the magizine for the October issue. The November issue will recap the 17-27 and then I believe December will include the original Naruto pilot.
If 28+ really are going to be bimonthly release that means Naruto will be having four and five chapters per month for at least a year.

I thought it was still going to be in the October issue, and the regular manga was only to be gone for November and December?
September 2007 (#57) will contain the final five chapters in volume 16. According to August 2007, page 006:
November: Speacial Naruto coverage of the volumes that won't appear in SJ (Volumes 16*-27)
December: Bonus: Read the original Naruto story that started it all.
January: The new Naruto saga begins and Naruto has a new look! The storyline jumps ahead two years after the events in volume 27, bringing new adventures and challenges for Naruto and his friends.
*This is odd, because by my calculations #56 holds the first four chapters of volume 16 and next issue we are promised FIVE FULL CHAPTERS OF NARUTO! "A conspiracy from the past returns to haunt Naruto!"
Issue 56's Naruto chapters end with the Third Hokage's funeral (that chapter begins with Itachi and Kisame, in color, returning to tHLV).
EDIT: By the way, as part of the new 'Art Jam' section on page 352, Hiromi Hasegawa () and Urian Brown (One Piece editor) submitted their own fanart (Hasegawa draws Light Yagami as Hikaru Shindo, Ryūk as Sai, and L as Akira Toya while Brown draws Wapol: Toaster form, saying "Why, that's rye!")

If Viz wants to continue being difficult and not give One Piece a better release, I assume this is how the rest of the year'll play out:
September:
140. Castle in the Snow (雪の住む城, Castle in the Snow?)
141. Quack Doctor (ヤブ医者, Quack Doctor?)
142. Jolly Roger and Cherry Blossoms (ドクロと桜, Jolly Roger and Cherry Blossoms?)
October: (Note: Final three chapters of book 16)
143. Unskilled (不器用, Unskilled?)
144. Snowy Tale (雪物語, Snowy Tale?)
145. Carrying on His Will (受け継がれる意志, Carrying on His Will?)
November and beyond!: (Note: Begins volume 17...with TEN chapters)
Now, this is tricky. With ten chapters Viz COULD ultimately just do five issues of two chapters each, which would piss a lot of us off, but with Naruto Nation stealing all of that space, it could happen. I can see November and December having two chapters each, or rather, three chapters, and three more in Jan. and one in February. Then again, Viz likes to release One Piece quarterly. With volume 16 coming out in November 6, 2007 that means that 140-142 will be printed in #57 (September 2007), and 143-145 in #58 (October 2007). Should we assume that we'll have to wait four more months for book 17 like how we had to wait four months between 14 and 15?
We're looking at something like this (unless Viz will print five chapters per issue or go to bimonthly volumes):
3 chapters in two upcoming issues, 2 chapters in up coming issues (in any possible combinations). Or, five issues with two chapters in them, that would mean five bloody months without a new volume released, but then again, volume 18 has ELEVEN chapters. Will they try to publish three chapters for the next seven issues?
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VIZ MAKE HULK ANGRY!!!!!!!!!
If Viz wants to continue being difficult and not give One Piece a better release
Please tell me what financial incentive Viz has to release One Piece faster. Is there a guarentee sales will increase by a certain percentage? Naruto didn't start going into overdrive until it started making a LOT of money for Viz. OP needs to do that in the future if Viz is going to treat it the same way. Viz doesn't give a damn if you like One Piece more than Naruto, all they care about is that Naruto makes MUCH more money than One Piece. Thus, it's only natural that they'd pimp Naruto a lot more than One Piece. Why give a steady seller a mega-push when there isn't any guarentee it'll work?

Bored.
Interested in predicting the release schedule.
I know it's not much of a reason but considering One Piece came out earlier then Naruto I just find it weird that Naruto will soon surpass it, espicially when Naruto has about six volumes less then One Piece.

I have to agree with Duke. The reason why is because Naruto is Viz's bestseller. It's volumes have been on the USA booklist for 5-6 weeks. One Piece has never made it on that list.
I don't see a problem with releasing 3 volumes for the next 4 months.
$10.00 x 3 = $30.00 to spend a month. Plus the Shonen Jump GNs are cheaper, $7.95 I believe. So that's a little less.
Besides, Christmas will be coming up around that time. You can get them as gifts.

Not when people have other titles that need purchasing, then again is that really an excuse?
It depends on how many titles people purchase. Me, I only collect about 12 series or so, about half of which have one issue come out every 3-4 months, so buying Naruto manga won't be that big of an issue. And I'm relatively conservative with my money, whereas many people are more liberal with their cash.
I would be shocked beyond belief if this strategy fails for Naruto. Unless Viz expects 10,000,000 copies to be gone in 2 days or something.

Just because the volumes are being released doesn't mean you or anyone else has to buy them the second they come out. The volumes are going be released eventually anyway, so if you were planning on buying them, you're spending no more than you were previously going to spend. If you don't have the money to buy them all at once or simply don't want to buy them all at once, buy them at whatever pace that you were planning on buying them.

The flaw in viz's master plan is that they're stopping naruto's serialization insead of speeding up that of the magazine.
If they can whipcrack their translators into doing so manyvolumes so fast, they can put them in magazine format as well. Just make SJ a Bi-weekly magazine, only each issue until Shippuden is half-naruto. This way we get one volume per month, and the anime and manga should be at the same realtive place when shippuden starts.
Instead, those who follow Naruto in the mag will by Gypped, and those who follow the GN's solely will be overwhelmed.
I know I`ll be peeved.
Shaman king's drop is much more understandable. It has far, far more material left than the story's point now would suggest. (By all means, it looks like it has about six volumes left, but goes on for three times that amount. Can someone please tell me HOW in the hell the Shaman fight dragged so much that the stroy wasn`t even finished?)
With a Bi-monthy release, it'll be far more acessible to those who want to see the whole thing end in their lifetime.
I'd say the only manga in the mag being treated unfairly is One piece. With so much material, it deserves more chapters per volume and a faster release. Not to mention being probably the next most popular manga in the mag.
Yu Yu is just fine where it is, having only about six volumes left, it may as well finish it's run quietly in the back pages of SJ, similar to how the anime's sucess petered out in america.
HnG is a bit of a quandry. Personally I think PoT's unique style of making tennis matches seem like shonen fights fits much better in serialization that HnG's quiet, reserved style, not really showing how the matches flow but instead focusing on training, preparation and aftermath, while the "fights" themselves are usually over in two pages.
Since Shaman King and YGO are both leaving at the end of the year, anyone want to bet on what will replace them?

It probably won't last long, though. The current rumor is that next week will be the final issue in Japanese Shounen Jump, due to disastrously low popularity (Bobobo seemingly gets cancelled this week for similar reasons), so it wouldn't last for that long. But I suppose they could run it for awhile. "From the artist of Hikaru no Go and Death Note" would get it some popularity.

This sucks. I'm starting to regret that I renewed my subscription. Naruto is practically taking up a third of the magazine.
It's not that I don't like Naruto; it's just that a key aspect of Shonen Jump is variety. In Japan, Weekly Shonen Jump has like, what, 20 series? They could probably fit two other series in our American Jump if Naruto wasn't hogging up all that space.

Just got it in the mail. Naruto's on the cover. What a surprise!!! Five full chapters, too. Now the first sixteen volumes have been published in the magizine.
Initial thoughts: Holy CRAP!!! Dynasty Warriors Gundam!
Turns out Naruto's not leaving JUMP quite yet. Four chapters for issue 58.
1 chapter of Bo^7.
After Issue 58 Naruto will take a one month break.
It looks like the last ifve chapters of volume 17 will not be printed in JUMP.
I'll post more info later. I gotta go READ, READ, READ!!!

So, is that 6 chapters for Bleach's first month, or 5 chapters and like 25 pages worth of bonus material?
Either way, Bleach joins with a bang.
I wonder if PoT or Eyeshield might join further down the line, if they get really close to the Japanese releases.

No thank you on Eyeshield 21. If it joins then the language will be watered down, which would make things inconsistant. I'd love to see tPoT in the magizine though, simply because I'm running out of shelf space!

Also, as you guys may (or may not) have known. Slam Dunk has been picked up by VIZ Media as well -- from it's now defunct Gutsoon! Entertainment of Raijin Comics.
Here's the synopsis
Sakuragi Hanamichi is a no-good, high school punk that is famous to some for his fighting exploits. And because of that, he gets rejected by girls whenever he confesses to them. In comes Haruko Akagi. With his eyes and heart for her, he decides to do anything to win her heart, even playing basketball. Little did he know of the game that he is about to play, plus with the fact that there is a freshman like him who is exceptional, and a fierce and strict captain who is always behind his back. Gradually, he begins to experience the life of a basketball player, and his love for the game. This is a story of hardships, friendships and commitment in order to gain something. It is suitable for basketball lovers as well as those who are looking for inspiration.

I could live with a SJ consisitng of 3 or 4 chapters of OP, Naruto, and Bleach a month, along with 2 of YYH until it ends and 2 of HnG. yGO GX really dosen`t need to be serialized. Aaside from the abrige series, in most people's eyes, the franchise is over. there's no need for a manga based on an anime(which never turns out well) to be in SJ. PoT really belongs more than HnG, really.

Wha? The GX Anime sucks. The Manga is actually supervised by Takahashi, which means the writing has high standards (I suggest picking up issue fifty-eight when it comes out for the begining of the Jūdai backstory, which is pretty hearbreaking from what I hear).
What's so great about the Manga is that Jūdai Yūki doesn't hog up all of the duels.
I see tPoT joining once they reach the Nationals, but that is ONLY if the Manga continues being published in Weekly JUMP.
I'll keep my HnG in Monthly JUMP NA, but I can do without the crappy art of YYH.

You say the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise is over? Then can you explain to me why:
the Yu-Gi-Oh! reruns on 4Kids TV get higher ratings than any other program on their lineup?
the spin off series is in its third season (with over 100 episodes) and gets solid ratings on Toonami?
the GX manga continues to be seralized in Shonen Jump, with the first graphic novel set to be released this fall?
the video games continue to be released on both the PSP and the DS (and sell rather well, I might add)?
Yu-Gi-Oh! is the #1 trading card game in the world, and continues to outsell every other trading card game by far?

Three chapters of One Piece’s sixteenth volume are yet to be published; with the sixteenth book confirmed for a release of November 6, 2007 I assume the last three chapters will be published in the October issue, but that leaves a month in between the book release and the finishing of the serialization. I’ve got nothing, to be honest. I assume this is how things are going to pan out for the next few months.
October issue: 143-145 (this ends serialization of book sixteen).
November issue: 146-147.
December issue: 148-149.
January issue: 150-152.
February issue: 153-155 (this ends serialization of book seventeen).
Please remember this is simply my speculation. Considering book seventeen is ten chapters long and Bleach WILL have a 120 page starter issue, I assume we'll have two months of two chapters per issue and then finish up book seventeen up with two issues of three chapters.
I really hope One Piece goes bi-monthly after seventeen completes serialization, but I doubt it will.

Yeah, I really wish people would stop all the hate towards Viz. Yes, they do give more attention to Naruto and Bleach, but it's not like they're neglecting their other titles. Most of their properties get an excellent translation with hardly any edits, and for the most part, the graphic novels are released at a steady rate (once every two to three months). Personally, I'm more than satisfied with they way they treat the Shonen Jump brand.

That has ran through my mind too, same thing with Funi and Case Closed.
Also, River26, you said that Viz should bring MAJOR to the US. I would like that to but I don't think it would happen, because since it's over 50 volumes, it would take too long to publish. Even though Case Close is just as long, Viz can still pupish it, because they've gone through 2/5 of the series. I wpould like to see Viz bring over more Shonen Sunday titles.

The only editing Viz should be doing to the art is replacing the sound effects and the Japanese text with English text, not redrawing middle fingers, crosses, and adding digital bakinis.
Also, have you even picked up a volume of YGO Duelist? That is some of the WORST text box editing I've ever seen.
