This new series, Digimon Frontier, is the 4th "season" in the Digimon franchise. From what I read on the site, this one starts April 7th in Japan so we would probably see it about a year or two later.

It'd premiere this September, if Tamers is any indication. I had about 20 episodes of Tamers on tape when Fox started airing it and I imagine that to be the case when Frontier starts to air.

Pokemon has a turnover rate of about a year from Japan to the US.

I heard a rumor (mind you, RUMOR) that supposedly the big gimmick of Season 4 is that these Tamers actually shapeshift into their Digimon counterparts (digiweres? Weredigimon? Digicanthropy?)

If that's true, I'm officially intrigued.

Well, the last episode I've seen of Tamers so far has something like that.

A seemingly naked Takato (a la Sailor Moon) merges with Guilmon to create Dukemon. (stop staring, "Henry"!)

I'm guessing at least the other 2 main Tamers ("Henry" and "Rika") will get the same transformation sequence.

I don't usually follow rumors, if only because I want to be surprised when I get the tapes and all... But Toei uses alot of the Sentai gimmicks/archetype characters in Digimon. Usually. I mean, Tamers doesn't seem to have a goth boy and Frontier as of yet has no tomboy.

Yep, it's true so far. There was about a 24 page topic on it over at Megchan's board. Oh yeah, check out the girl(she reminds me of Mimi Tachikawa *drool*), if memory serves me correct, her name is Izumi. I can't wait to see the confusion with all the Koushiro/Izzy fans out there!:D

BTW, don't diss Junpei!!!! Finally, Digimon is becoming realistic by adding a heavy set kid!:) And none of them have freaky hair anymore(*cough*Tai*cough*).

Edit- And another thing.....why do people think Takuya is a Tai/Sora clone? Maybe it's just me, but he looks more like Daisuke and Sora's love child more than anything. Hehe, a "Daiora". That would be a good story for fanfiction.net.

I like Junpei! I'm at a bit of a loss how to describe him politely, but I'll get to it. I just hope I'm not getting this pairing outta nowhere and that the actual show backs me up on it.

I just think he looks like Sora dressed up as Tai.... Just like Takato resembles scribbles I made around 12/00 of Ken and Daisuke's son. (That gave way into a theory about Hikari, Takato and the DaiKen boyz that was inspired by Sailor Moon.)

As a matter of fact, I thought their handling of Kiki's Delivery Service was surprisingly well done. It wasn't perfect, but they didn't ruin it. And I have both the sub and dub versions.

It's been a while since I've drawn him, but the basic idea was this: brunette, with hair texture a combination of Ken's smoothness and Daisuke's spikiness. Light-skinned like Ken and goggles like Daisuke.

And while I'm on the subject... Doesn't the little kid in Frontier look like a hybrid of "Tracey Sketchit" and "TK" auditioning for Newsies?

Ok, first of all, I was NOT dissing Junpei! If anything, he's a fresh breath of air from all those thin-as-swizzle stick kids that Digimon's desiners have a disturbing tendency to do.

Second, um, ABC Family still airs Monster Rancher, and there IS the whole thing of Digimon and Power Rangers (Wild Force, I assume) Joining the Marvel block that's coming...June/July, was it? Not sure.

So maybe if we're REALLY good and lucky, we'll get Frontier here.

"Power Rangers," "Digimon" and the Marvel shows premiere in March on ABC Family. There's a strong possibility that new episodes will air on ABC Family in the fall.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the Frontier crew remind me of the Detention/Recess kids.

Apparently they actually turn into Digimon, instead of just merging with them the way Tamers do their Megas. I did see reference to both Li and Ruki fusing, and there's speculation Ryou will, too. Not that we'll get to see it....

The Digimon fusing scenes involve glowing, naked Tamers(think Sailor Moon- the whole airbrushed nude bit). I saw the one with Takato and I imagine Lee and/or Ruki's are on the tape I just got.

Maybe the Digi-Pioneers are half-digimon to begin with. I think it's inevitable that Kouji turns into some kinda wolf, Orimoto into something with ears resembling those on her hat.

Ok, I should point t that there's a SLIGHT chance that the episode with Takato Merge-Digivolving with his digimon is actually a scene in the 6th movie, 'Runaway Digimon Express'. There's the chance that they'll gyp us like the last two seasons and only have a handful of Digidestined/Tamers with partners that can reach Mega.

Of course, I'm hoping-heck even certain-that we'll get lucky this time and the main 3 Tamers will get megas.

Again, I'm VERY intrigued by what may come of Frontier, especially if the 'Weremon' thing turns out to be true :D :D :D

1st off: Which side is which? I can't tell, because all this was just a lamer deathmatch. I couldn't tell who was CT and who was T becuase they all had custom skins.

2: Who's squad leader? No one was using audios or roger wilco! I mean, jeez, they'd be better off playing HL DM.

3: What's up with this? No one was using grens! No one was using DE's in the 2nd round! I mean, what a bunch of idiots! The all must be n00bs. However, they weren't AWP bastards, so that's a plus.

4: No one set me up the bomb! It's like...obligatory. You can't play a round of CS without setting the bomb up once. The CT's will just the T's through if they can't just to add some excitement, and see the crates/toilet/builing/landmark/hostages explode.

It may be, but I saw Takato merge-'Digivolving' in the episode that aired 12/09. Beyond that, I'll know when I watch my new tape. I don't usually check up on rumors because I like surprises but I have seen an image of Ruki all naked-glowy like Takato was.

Can anyone give me a brief synopsis of the past... oh... year-and-a-half of Digimon? I sporradically watched it for a while, and stopped after bad-ass MagnaAngemon went bye-bye.

and that's basically it. Along the way, they all meet "digigods" and the such, and they all usually fight monsters with different variations of Satan's name(ie- Devimon, Beelzebumon, Belial Vamdemon, etc.) Anyone who really is interested in Digimon should watch these new episodes that just started airing. I hear that all the episodes with Beelzebumon are really good.

Season 2 takes place in 2002, at least in Japan. That's what the 02 title really means.

Season 3 is a completely different universe, akin to the relationship between one Gundam series to another. It's set sometime this decade, but no year is specified.
