I hate football, I don't want to put anybody down who likes this stuff, but I have zero interest in Super Bowl Sunday. They could cancel the game and I could care less. Anybody else here not watching the game? I can't even bring myself to turn it on just for the commericals.

Watch football?...while the streets are empty, and cars lie idle in the street? Just ready for their windows to be broken?? nah...Instead I'm going to go watch Frequency with my brother. That movie any good?

Have you always hated football, or is the state of the league that's turned you off? I'm a big NFL fan, though I've been very disappointed in the league during the last couple years. The level of play hasn't been the same, possibly because of free agency.

I didn't expect much from the Super Bowl this year, but so far it's been great. I don't think anyone expected the Patriots to lead the Rams, especially not with the ease they've done it with thus far.

Last years SB sucked bad, but this year's has been great thus far. Of course, that's if you're not a Rams fan or don't appreciate big upsets. Given that you're not a football fan, the Patriots lead probably wouldn't mean much to you. And I don't think the commecials have been that great. Admittedly, I've been flipping channels during most of the breaks or out of the room, but from what I've seen, you're not missing much there.

Well I wasn't going to watch - I've hated watching it on TV for years - but I tuned in for the halftime show (Awesome!) and saw that the Pats were ahead. OMG!!!! Didn't see that coming.

So like a good New Englander I'm going to see them wipe the floor with the Rams. (17-3!!!!!!) At least I'll be able to have a decent conversation at work tomorrow.

Sorry....

I'm not watching. I despise football. (heck I despise most sports in general. excluding, of course, dance) I fail to see what the big hype is. It's a football game. The commercials aren't even that good.

I was thinking about tuning in to NBC at halftime, but then I realised that I'd have to watch because I don't know when that is, so I decided not to.

Dance is an art, not a sport. It sounds so much more higher that way anyway :P

And I'm not!

~pounces~ it is too! It puts just as much strain on the body as any sport. and also. you ever had blisters the size of quarters on your feet? And then you put your tennis shoes on and they rub open and you stain your white socks red?

And if you want to talk about competitive go to one of the many many dance competitions, any of the auditions, any R.A.D. examinations, or any of the more advanced classes and you'll see real competition.

Now I'm not saying that football isn't a sport (although in my opinion anything compared to ballet isn't nearly as starinful or painful) I'm merely stating my opinion.

and on a side note, did you know that some of the best football players take dance or have taken dance in the past? so :p

I'm going to shut up now before I get like banned or something... ta-ta!

While I agree with that dance is an art (and one of the most beautiful), it also fits in the category of a sport.

Dance... I guess it all depends on how you see it. It takes muscles and stamina, that's for sure. After taking a year of jazz dance in high school for PE credit, I have so much more respect for dancers. I never really thought of it as a sport, more of performing arts, but I guess you could call it a sport too. They do train their bodies and there are competitions for dancing. Hey, figure skating is more seen as a sport, and it's a form of dance in a way (choreography, artistry, technique, expression, etc).

I watched "The Early Works of Friz Freleng" (Toonheads) instead. I despise sports. I recall in 1996 the ASU TV lounge was packed with fans watching the Big One. There were far fewer the following year, and by 1998 there was no one at all there. If college is a microcosm of society, that should tell you how much people even bother with the Stupor Bowl anymore..the masses have simply ceased to care....

Heck, I didn't. I hate football, too. And after the Eagles managed to ruin my Christmas break, I never wanna see ANY team playing EVER AGAIN. I didn't come home from a campus of hootchies & drunken whiners to listen to my parents de-evolve into whoping baboons over Donovan McNabb. They were scaring my dogs, for crying out loud!

They may not have been anything to watch till ten (Adult Swim), but I'd be darned if I was gonna watch the Stupid Bowl.
