Come join the club...It's Winx Club Season 3, with the Trix teaming up with a new villain in Baltor, and our heroines trying to obtain their Enchantix powers! Five of the six girls now have one, though Tecna gained hers while sacrificing herself last week. So one wonders... does it actually count?

This Week's Premiere: #166 "Pay Back"
Airs: Saturday, Apr. 7, 2007 at 8 am on 4KidsTV (Check your local listings!)
Summary: Still nothing... but the title's self-explanatory anyway...
2:30 am... ugh... obviously, no poll again this week...

If there was a poll, this one would get a 2 from me. The writing is seriously going down the toilet.

PROS:

-Timmy rocks. At least someone has the brains and the balls to stand by Tecna.

-Spelled Stormy. Stormy acting in any goody goody way is always funny.

-Darcy spelling the chalk. Ah, I love it when she uses her brains.

CONS:

-Everyone is distraught over Tecna and not a single Winx girl thinks there’s any hope of saving her. What a bunch of emo wussies.

-The remaining Winx girls, despite knowing how powerful Baltor is, are dumb enough to take him on. Way to possibly get yourselves killed, idiots.

-The ridiculous way the girls stand as if they’re wearing invisible high heels. Do not stand like that when you may get knocked on your butt at any moment. It’s just stupid. You’re not on a frellin' stage in a frilly skirt. You’re fighting one of the most powerful wizards around! Morons.

-Darcy cries. I know it’s comic relief, but it’s still way OOC.

-Diaspro’s been banished. YAWN. How freaking boring is that? An unfitting end for a sympathetic character with a lot of untapped potential. Something tells me the same thing will happen to Chimera.

It’s pretty sad when not a single Winx girl is likeable. The strongest performance was given by Timmy and the Company of Light. Baltor and the Trix were decent, too, but not as enjoyable as they have been before. Except Spelled Stormy. That was great.

If Faragonda can do Enchantix, why aren't we seeing it? Don't tell me it's a power that only works for the doll-etic set.

Just how long has Nabu been hiding in the woods now?

And if Diaspro's exit this season is truly in Sky's exposition monologue, that's just lame. So is it that Rai didn't animate anything on it or 4Kids cut scenes?

I don't think anything was animated. I have a few people in my community who have seen the uncut and no one's mentioned anything about this. I'll try to find out for sure.

Ok, here are my thoughts:

1. Aw, the girls are still upset about what happened to poor Tecna. I don't blame them.:( Thankfully, Timmy hasn't given up hope on her.:)

2. Stormy was pretty funny when Baltor put that "opposite" magic on her!:p At least, it DID lead the Winx girls to Baltor easier.

3. In that fight against Baltor, I felt very sorry for Musa when she got "silenced" and for Flora when she was "wrapped" in darkness.:(

4. I almost started crying when I saw how that creep Baltor defeated Bloom's birth parents.:crying: I'd have been ticked off the same way Bloom was! It's too bad her "dragonfire" wasn't enough to defeat him, and she got frozen in the process! :( :crying:

5. I loved how Layla's Enchantix repelled Icy's attack!:D

6. I'm very glad Faragonda, Saladin, & Griffin shielded Baltor off long enough so the girls could free Bloom!:D

7. WOW! Bloom's now off to the dreaded Isle of Pyros to strengthen up her "dragonfire" magic! I hope she comes back in one piece!

8. Finally, it was nice to see Sky & Brandon again after so long.:)

I felt this was a great and emotional ep. I give it 4 stars.:D

Wait, everyone! I think I just heard something!

Tecna: Hello? Can anyone hear me? I'm still stuck in the Omega Dimension! I am using my Enchantix to hold off these horrible creatures, but I don't know how long it'll last! I've got to get out of here! Bloom, Timmy, somebody please...HEEEEELP MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! :ack: :( :crying: :crying: :crying:

That poor girl!:( I know Timmy will find a way to get her out of there. Somehow. I hope.:( :crying:

You know how history is written differently from different perspectives? Apply that thought to Baltor's tale. I somehow doubt his story about Miriam and Oritel is completely true.

I don't think Pyros is "dreaded" either. Dangerous, yes, but it's not necessarily a bad place, so it doesn't deserve to be called that.

I still think it's crap how the girls were so busy boo-hooing that they couldn't bother to be positive about Tecna. As much as I like Timmy finally doing something, why does it have to be a male who's gung ho about finding her? A guy has to be the knight in shining armor, so to speak? GAG. Where are all my strong girls?! I'm so disappointed in them.

OK episode at best. I can't believe they ended the 3 episode arc of Diaspro "like that"...

An okay episode at best. Most of what I did and didn't like has already been said, really.

Timmy being the ONLY one to believe that Tecna could have survived was both endearing and a bit annoying. It does show how strong the Tec/Tim relationship is and it does showcase one of his cooler moments. Actually, I think it's his ONLY moment this season. I don't recall seeing him on any prior episode in S3. Still, you'd think the other girls would just have more faith in their friend. >_>

You'd also think that the Winx girls would have learned by now that using the pixies to fool the teachers just won't work. I have a really hard time believing that Faragonda or Griselda is that stupid.

I think we all knew the Winx vs. Baltor fight was going to end badly. The girls' bad habit of underestimating Baltor continues in a spectacular fashion. They'd have SO been dead if the Company of Light hadn't come to the rescue. Only thing we got out of it was Baltors version of what happened to Bloom's parents, though he only did that to wind her up, I bet.

I think the Trix were, perhaps, unintentionally comedic in this one. Stormy being spelled into a good girl was both funny and creepy. The Trix in detention was worth a few laughs. Then having the Trix walk in on Baltor's attack. The poor girls just aren't having a good day.

And now Sky decides to waltz back in just as Bloom goes on her "special training" mission. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one annoyed at how Diaspro's story finished up. She may not have been my favorite character, but she deserved a lot better resolution than what she got, really. I mean, all we got was hearsay from Sky? Lame.

Wow, Timmy's the only one who truly believed Tecna was still alive and could be rescued? I know the girls are sad, but you'd think they'd have at least some speck of hope that she could be saved. That being said, the girls obviously had their minds clouded with rage when they went to take care of Baltor. Naturally, who actually expected them to win in that condition? I'm surprised no one actually got killed.

In retrospect, though, it did bring about another reunion of the Company of Light (Faragonda, Saladin, and Griffin), who the Winx girls should be blessing for saving them.

Detention Dimension just sounds lame. I know, I know, essentially that's what the Trix were sent to. I wished they didn't come up with such an obvious name, though.

And what's up with the sudden resolution to the whole Sky-Brandon-Diaspro bit? The writers don't see it fit to give us anything more than 'oh, and before we forget, Diaspro's been take care of.' You'd think that something so closely connected to the 'mighty' Bloom would get a grander resolution. I would've been satisfied with a simple scene with Diaspro revealing to Sky why she did what she did before being banished off. Or something along those lines. That couldn't be too much to ask, right?

Speaking of Bloom... no Enchantix, 12 episodes left, obviously wants to increase her powers and find out the truth about her parents... oh, and so wants to kill Baltor. Despite an uptick from last week, it may only be a temporary bandage, especially if we get all Bloom, all the time for a few weeks. I'm really hoping the next few weeks aren't rough.

Maybe we can pad the time by finishing up Stella's (Chimera and Cassandra still in control of the kingdom) or Layla's (with her arranged fiance still stalking her like he's figuring her out by doing that and NOT what he should be doing... spending time with her face-to-face) storylines.

Unless the writers wanna say 'Hey, here's the resolution in a line or two, now let's get back to Bloom.' But I trust them enough that they wouldn't try that again.

Right?

"Pay Back": 3.5/5.
