Okay, obviously when Babs was Batgirl she didn't wear glasses, and I never assumed that she wore contacts either. But in about half the pictures of Oracle that you see, in the actual comics or just online, she has glasses on. So then, does she use reading glasses, and because she's on the computer so much, that's why she has them on? Which brings about another question: we all know that reading too much, whether it's books or online, can be bad for your eyes. The computer can especially hurt your eyes because of the glare of the screen. Babs is on the computer ALL the time, it would probably be 24/7 except for needing to sleep, eat and excercise. So, in turn, wont her eyes get loads worse much sooner since she's staring at a screen so much?

Yeah. I am near-sighted and I'm supposed to remove my glasses when on the computer (I don't however) and my vision is slowly deteriorating. I think that raises a valid point- maybe Barb wore contacts before coming Oracle, who knows.

Am I just a freak or something, because I've read a fair amount of books (don't say a word Barb) and I've played more than a fair amount of video games my entire life and I still have 20/20 vision?

I'm pretty sure it only effects you if your vision is bad to begin with. :(

Lucky. :p

Taking care of your eyes is one thing, and genetics has some effects too. My family has a history of nearsightedness especially on my dad's side. My eyes started to get fuzzy late in my high school career, and I got glasses during my second year of college.

For Babs, what if her vision wasn't so bad in her high school years and college years, but let's say it started getting really bad during college and she went to glasses, and the more she wore them the worse her eyesight got... shear laziness of not taking glasses off when not needed? heh, I have a friend who wears contacts and he sleeps with them on! He knows he's not suppose to do that, but he doesn't care.

All valid points. And yeah Carnage, you're a freak, I'll have to bug you about that at school now too, lol. It probably runs in her family. Jim has glasses, and perhaps Babs real parents did too. My whole family has glasses, so it was no shocker that I needed glasses by first grade--so can not wait to do lazer eye surgery-- I wear contacts all the time, though glasses are fun to wear. Most likely wearing glasses must run a little in Babs family, and it probably didn't come about till her college years. Though it probably got a lot worse once she started staring at the computer so much.
