Tarzan 2 In Pre-Production?
According to the Feature Animation Forum, a Fall 2003 direct-to-video sequel, which "is more of a chapter in the film than a sequel", is in storyboard stage right now. Though it doesn't have a title yet, Phil Collins (who is also penning the soundtrack for [The Country] Bears) already wrote new songs for it. Ohio Studio character builders (The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea) are doing all pre-production and directing Tarzan 2 -they are currently finishing directing another direct-to-video project, 101 Dalmatians: The Animated Sequel (aka Patch's London Adventure), which is reportedly "really enjoyable." Before Tarzan 2, a compilation of several episodes from the Tarzan TV series, retitled Tarzan & Jane and promoted on the Atlantis VHS, will get released.

How much do you wanna bet the movie will be called Tarzan: Return to the Jungle?

i would be incredibly surprised if that wasn't the title. Titles for Dinsey sequels are so easy to figure out! *dies* I can't beleive they're gonna mess with Tarzarn, augh! You can bet they'll have a kid, most likely a daughter...and she probably wants to be in an actual civilization. If that isn't the story, you can bet it would be for a Tarzan 3.

Well....it can't be called Return to the Jungle...the movie ended with both Tarzan and Jane living there. How much you want to bet that it involves civilization and possibly Tarzan visiting a big city?

The "good" news is....Tarzan was already a mediocre movie in comparison to some of their better works, so if the sequel is crappy, it isn't THAT big a loss (As, say, compared to Snow White 2).

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't the first one BAD enough???!! Isn't it a little TOO soon for a sequel for a BAD movie?

That hasn't stopped Disney before, and it won't stop them anytime soon. I feel real bad for the original creators who wanted to make these original priojects good and enjoyable...only to have them whored out to Disney and have them torn apart by a dollar bill. I miss the days when a good movie didn't automatically mean sequel.

I can't stand when Disney makes sequels! Just leave the movies alone, they ended, leave it that way.

Ya know this movie would mean something if they did a good job with it and released it to theatres like a REAL movie. But they're not, so it's gonna bomb. Let's see....the last time Disney had a good idea was.... when they didn't think seqeuls were the key things?

Oh, don't look so shocked. The end of Tarzan was such a set-up for a follow-up set of adventures.

Geez, I'm suprised no one's metinoned Disney's The Legend of Tarzan animated series which has been running for months now. Its like something Disney would have shown in the Disney Afternoon slot with Tailspin and Darkwing Duck. Its actually quite good at times and has a saturday afternoon serial atmosphere to it. I'll say this if they're going to make a sequal, bring back all of their top guns to work on the deep canvasing effects try to round up all the voices especially Minnie Driver and giove it a theatrical release. Don't blow this chance it may cost you some coin but it will pay-off, believe me.
As for the plot, Tarzan in fact did travel back to his home of England in the original novel to assume his birthright. If you don't have time to read the book see the movie Greystoke. This is a classic character who deserves the best treatment possible

Tarzan 2: Return to the Urban Jungle

There we go...that's what Disney will name it...

I'm not really suprised, they're making Snow White 2 for crying out loud! I wonder how much further Disney can sink?

Babe: Pig in the City. Whoops I meant Tarzan: Jungle Dude in the City.

Is Disney desperate for money or do they enjoy strumpeting their classics?

Seriously? This is why I never pay attention to Disney anymore. What ever happened to happily ever after?

Well it's actually a guess, but I'd bet money that is what they will call it...

I thought the first Tarzan was great, but I'll bet they'll screw everything up. I mean the show is good, and I don't think they've screwed anything up. Someone needs to stop all these Disney sequels. Are these people so obsessed with money that they'll screw up a classic?

I'll bet you money that it's wrong! :D First of all, it's not a "return", because they never went to the city, and secondly, Victorian era cities could hardly be called "urban jungles"..... even if they had their darker pits of poverty, Disney would hardly show *those* if they were going to try and contrast the difference between the wild, tribal jungle and civilization.

Sorry, just have to argue. :o

I guess "(Jane and Tarzan's kid's name here) London Adventure".... what's that? They already have a video named that? Well, geez! :p

Maybe they'll just called it:
Tarzan 2: Cuz we didnt care enough to give it a real title. :p

Wait, didn't they already do an "urban jungle" type thing with Pocahontas 2? Yeesh.

Disney's theatrical animation department is quite good, but their other animation departments need to be booted in the fanny.

Tarzan 2: You will help pay for this. Either you're a clueless middle-American consumer with little sense of taste and so confident in Disney Quality that you will buy and accept this without question. Or you rent this out of curiousity, and we still get money. Or you watch it on one of our channels, or a channel that paid us for it and sells ad time shown during it. Guess what? yes, we still get money... WOOHOO!
