Wow Fellowship of the Ring is still up there...pretty cool.
BTW Is "A Walk to remember." Any good I've heard mixed reviews of this flick, mostly divided on gender lines.

Let's see... "Slackers" gets 0 stars from Roger Ebert... and gets 10th place in the top 10. I was expecting more from Jason Schwartzman.

Same here, sprectre. This is quite a step down for the Rushmore star...a big step down. Hopefully he can recover in his next movie. He vaguely implied in an interview on The Daily Show that he did it becuase he got paid for it.

It's a shame, the premise for Slackers seemed like it would be pretty good.

Even one of the kids from Pete & Pete are in this... but I'll be honest: even when I saw the previews for the movie I was indeed disappointed. It looks like it's a few centimeters off of normal teenage movie range, but it's close enough. "Rushmore" was miles away from the teenager lackluster clump. Having done "Rushmore" -- wouldn't he realize how bad the movie was when he read the script?

Actually, there was an article in Friday's Wall Street Journal about this. The explanation, apparently, is that there is a huge market for "family" films that is going untapped because Hollywood just can't find enough good scripts. So even something as lame as "Snow Dogs" will make a killing when it comes out.
Of course, then the article turns around and points out that "A Little Princess" and "The Secret Garden," family films that were actually good tanked when they were released. . . .
