View Full Version : Finally, a cartoon screening on the East Coast!
If you're like me, you often read at cartoonresearch.com of those wonderful rare cartoon screenings going on in Los Angeles and say to yourself, "Drat, if only it wasn't in California!" Well, now us East Coast-ers have something to squawk about. From Jerry's "screenings" page:

COMING TO NEW YORK CITY in MAY 2002:
HOLLYWOOD CARTOONS IN CINEMASCOPE
The acclaimed Cartoon Research road show (seen in Los Angeles, Ottawa, and Sitges, Spain!) is coming to New York City. Two showings at the Museum of Modern Art!
Watch this space for further details!

As you can see, no further info as of yet, since it's still three months off. But as a CT resident, I'm excited, as I may finally be able to get to one of these screenings!

Count me in too, just as long as I don't have to apply for a wristband and camp out on line all night!

You know I will defintley be there for this event, as me and some of the gang (from TTTP) will be attending.Toon Forums should cover this big event and ity has been a while since there had been a classic cartoon festival held here in NYC.

I've always wanted to go to one of those, and I'll definitely consider it...but chances are I'll be bogged down in work at that point. May will be the last month of my college career. :D Maybe if I'm lucky this May will be an exception to the trend of the last few years and I won't be too busy though...

I just talked with my mom. She says she'll talk with one of our friends who lives in NYC. If we can get him into taking me there, then I'm set! Why don't we all meet in a specific area of the place? We could also have little name tags with our TTTP usernames!

Don't take my word for this gang, but I think that the ticket prices go for $7.50 per person. And I have a great idea! :)
Maybe(in honor of this event), we should have like a min-TTTP convention..That way everybody will get to meet each other and we have several months to plan this!

That would be a lot of fun. I don't suppose Jon would be able to join us...?

I did forget to mention that there will be two screenings(friday & saturday) that weekend in May. Joe,I don't think you shouldn't have a problem getting here since it falls on a weekend. And I hope the Jon will make the big event as well and I think it's only a few hours to get down here from where you are Jon.
To have a mini TTTP convention would be an excellent idea....It could give us a chance to make some noise to get the studios to get the cartoons(that we want to see) shown again. :D
And Yes Foley, name tags will be important..I can't wait to meet you guys!
