So, after a year and 48 episodes, Digimon Savers is over in Japan. And what a series it was. In my opinion, the greatest Digimon series yet, and they says something given how highly I rank Digimon Tamers.

Although I wish the final battle with Yggdrasil had been a little longer, the finale was very appropriate. I just knew Masaru was going to go to the Digital World. Granted, the ending also left me wanting more, as well. But a very satisfying series.

A shame most of the Royal Knights didn't get that much screen time, although Craniummon easily stole the show, and Dukemon was pretty cool as well(although this our fourth different Dukemon now, dude's trying to challenge Leomon or something?)

Eh, I thought Suguru being alive at the end was a bit of a copout, but it wasn't that unexpected, so whatever.

I have to say, a sequel that showed the other Demon Lords and Olympians might be pretty cool. I was kind of surprised that they had Mercurimon play such a pivotal role, yet he was the only one of the Olympians to show up.

Anyways, Digimon Savers was excellent. A great cast, great music, great battles(well, RhodoKnightmon went down like a pansy, but aside from that...), the series had it all.

Digimon certainly came out of (anime) retirement in a big way.

I gotta agree, although Rhodoknightmon kinda was technically a pansy. ^_^;; at the very least, he didn`t last forever like the frontier one did.:P

Anyway, the best ending to a digimon series ever. The twist in 47 and a lot of other stuff left untouched could easily lead to a good "savers 02".

For anyone who hates whining protagonists, I`m sure they'll like Masaru's luffy-ish attitude towards combat.

Masaru, for me, stood out among "Manly" charachters in that he never once denigrated women, and always treated everyone as an equal.

But what a turnaround from the first 10 episodes, eh(well, the drigmogemon 2-parter was good)? Who wouldn`ve though that they could get everything done in time even then, even with the reduced(from other seasons) 48 episodes, they managed to make everythng feel in place.

a very good start to what I hope is a new generation of digimon seasons. It now takes a very close second to tamers in my overall ranking.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who made it to the end. Well, I have to agree this really was the best digimon series yet. I mean Tamers was really good, but Savers was so full of excitment, action and a surprising plot that it just got me pumped at some points, which not many shows can do.

The final battle with Yggdrasil was awesome, especially with the digimon evolving on their own, and Agumon in Burst Mode for the final 1-2 with Masaru. They also pulled off the "friendship is our power" cliche pretty well.

I agree about the Royal Knights though, they didn't get enough screentime, but those of them that did (Craniummon and Dukemon especially) really were awesome. I think the episode where the Royal Knights first appear was one of my favorites.

As for the actual ending ending, I was surprised to see Suguru come back, especially after that "he's become the wind in the digital world" line, though they kept BanchouLeomon gone, which was kind of disappointing since Suguru came back. I was really happy to see resolution for everyone, especially with the relationships between the digimon and their partners, you could really feel the emotion, I thought. Plus there were some fun scenes, the old man drinking with Kamemon and Gotsumon, Yoshino breaking the punching machine, etc. I also enjoyed how they skipped ahead a few years, it gave you an idea of how everyone settled in afterwards, which you usually don't see.

But yeah, aside from the slow start, the series really did well in keeping it exciting and full of action, and there were some fun surprises along the way. Plus the characters and the character dynamics were awesome, Masaru was a fun main character. And I love the 2nd opening to death, Wada Kouji FTW. Here's hoping for a good dub, and maybe a sequel.

I'd have to give it another couple thumbs up as well. LOVED the ending. Kinda on the run at the moment, or I'd be more detailed.

One thing I have to say is, I can't believe they killed leomon another two more times.

Digimon is still around? WTF. I watched that like eight years ago when I was six.

Yes, Digimon LIVES!

Actually, they took a 3-year break. But the show came back in Japan and should be coming to the US soon.

My only pet peeve for Savers: After 48 eps, Yoshino's voice can't inflect emotion to save her life

Since the majority of us don't live in Japan, we saw Savers through "other ways", which are against the rules to talk about.

As for the english version of season 2 (aka Digimon Adventure 02), just wait until it airs on Toon Disney again.

Because essentially the means are illegal, hence Toon Zone does not promote them. As the rules say, discussing the content is fine, discussing obtaining them by controversial means is a big no no which can lead to all sorts of trouble.

Yeah, the less said about that the better.

In short: google it kid, cuz we got asses to cover.

So what replaced Savers anyway in the JP run?

Alright, moving back towards the topic.

Digimon Savers had some great fights. What were everyone's favorites?

I loved the 4 Burst Modes vs Craniummon fight. But the DATS vs Belphemon fight was great, too.

And the final battles with the 3 Hybrids were fun as well.
