I thought 7th Heaven was already dead.

They said last yeay was to be 7th Heaven's last season, and then CW brought it back. The move to Sunday is what may actually have killed it off this time around, but I'll believe it when I don't see it on next year's schedule.

Not quite, it was supposed to but CW i think wanted the biggest show that the WB had before the merger with UPN, and so renewed it.

From what I heard, Donnellys was a good show. Though now that I'm hearing of its cancellation I really just wish it could be pulled so Studio 60 can return sooner. :D Maybe its failure will convince NBC that they're just going to have to accept abysmal ratings for that time slot regardless of the show they run. Anybody have ratings for Donnellys?

Well, Studio 60 isn't returning anytime soon, at least not in the Monday 10pm slot. When Heroes returns April 23, the reality show The Real Wedding Crashers will fill that slot as now two dramas in the Monday 10pm slot have failed to get the ratings that NBC was looking for. So now they're going with a comedy type show.

7th Heaven is still alive? I thought they put it out of it's misery years ago.

7th Heaven's been dragging on and on despite massive cast changes over the last few years. I think the final nail in the coffin is the fact that Barry Watson, Jessica Biel AND David Gallagher all permanently abandoned ship this year.

I always thought 7th Heaven's current season was meant to be the last anyway.

I would imagine Studio 60 is about as good as canceled considering its situation.

The interesting thing with 7th Heaven is that last season was meant to be the last. But it pulled in such great ratings, that they decided to renew it. What I guess they never really thought about was that so many were tuning in because it was the last season and people wanted to see how it ended.
But yeah, it seemed like this was going to be the last season. What kind of sucks is that whatever finale they put out probably won't be able to top last years true finale in which all of the Camden's, including Mary, appeared. It'll probably be quite lame.

Maybe some hope on Studio 60! According to Ray Richmond over at PastDeadline.com (http://http://www.pastdeadline.com/)....
A rumor had been going around (imagine that -- a rumor on the Internet!) that after having gone back into production earlier this month on episodes 17 through 22, the show had ceased production and the plug finally, irrevocably pulled. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! (Imagine it -- an inaccurate rumor on the Internet!) I got the scoop this very afternoon from Lesley Cerwin, the NBC publicist assigned to the show, and she confirmed that production on episode 19 was scheduled to be completed today and work on episode 20 commenced on Thursday.
So yes, it appears that at least the full season complement of shows will make it into the can for Aaron Sorkin's noble but low-rated hour. But all of you "Save Studio 60" (http://www.savestudio60.com/) cyber sites and blogs, take note: it is now highly unlikely the show will be brought back this spring. The more probable scenario (strictly my conjecture): it will come back in originals over the summer as something of a "bell lap" final farewell.
Don't hold your breath for the show's second-season renewal. That probably ain't happening. Networks typically reserve that stuff for shows that don't bleed millions of dollars, being as they are in the profit business and all. I don't mean to belittle "Studio 60" supporters, as it is an intelligent and worthy piece of television, but the era of petitions making a difference in rescuing a series from the chopping block has long since passed, I'm afraid. This here petition (http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/Save-NBC-Studio-60), for example, boasts nearly 17,000 cyber signatures, but unless at least 500 of the signers reside in Nielsen homes I don't really see it turning the tide.
Now remember: this is NOT official. It's just my blubbering into the cyber ether. Or as I like to say, positively certain, as I am never wrong -- except, well, you know, a lot of the time.
So, while there is nothing to confirm this anywhere else, it's quite possible we'll see a summer return of the final episodes. We'll see though.

That's something of a good sign. And if a full season is completed, I wonder if that could help a potential DVD release? (Please, NBC, just don't schedule any summer airings for Sundays at 10PM, because that's reserved for The Dead Zone in my house. :D )

I always thought that the finale was lame in itself so I was glad they renewed it to get another shot at a better finale. They didnt resolve the Mary arc. With all that said, I still have not watched it at all this season. No point seeing how I dont recognize anyone on the show now.
I always thought it would have been great for the opening credits to show all the cast members going through clips of different periods on the show...clips from when they first started to the present. Would have really made their legacy seem that much more powerful as fans would get to see how long the show has progressed from.

Kind of like when Roseanne's opening credits, in the later seasons, showed morphing photos of the cast, from the first season to the most recent. That was a nice little touch.

Guh...they're still going forward with The Real Wedding Crashers? That's their lamest post-Heroes entry yet.

Just when, last night, I said, "Wow. That episode of The Black Donellys was actually really good." Go figure. Just when it's starting to go somewhere.....

Not surprised about Black Donnelly's. It was so "critically acclaimed" in the ads, that I just knew it wouldn't last. I watched the first episode and I didn't see anything in it worth sticking around for. Felt like a Soprano's wannabe suitable for network tv.
As for 7th Heaven, it's one of those weird shows that you don't really watch, but you still know what's going on most of the time. In the beginning, I watched it for Jessica Biel (since she is hot). However, seeing Ruthie go from the cute younger sister playing with dolls to the new "hot teenager" is just all too weird for me, so maybe it's best it ends now.

The Black Donnellys will most likely come back. Also, it's not totally cancelled. New episodes are aired every Monday on NBC.com

The Black Donnellys will most likely come back. Also, it's not totally cancelled. New episodes are aired every Monday on NBC.comThis is old news and there is no way it is coming back. "Airing" on NBC.com means they want to make the episodes available, but they can't cut in on the actual network. Premieres on the website is a stay of execution, but the show is still being put to death.
