View Full Version : Your Dream Anime

So, what is everyone here's fantasy anime? It can be anything from continuations of series ended before their time, to new installations in franchises, to creators you'd like to see something new.
Some ideas from me:
I really want to see a Hajime no Ippo continuation. There's about 40+ volumes of manga material available for them to work from, and still going. There's no reason we can't have a new Ippo anime.
I'd like to see an adaption of the 666 Satan anime, as well. I'd like to see it ideally directed by Goro Taniguchi, although anyone who will help bring Kishimoto's story to life would be good.
I'd also like to see something new worked on by Yoshiyuki Tomino. Although his style has changed a lot in recent years, he's still the master at making mecha related anime. Maybe something very atypical like Dunbine would be good for him.
For some more general ideas:
I'd like to see a mecha anime in a more real world setting, rather then too far in the future. Code Geass has done well with this so far, and I'd like to see it explored more thoroughly.
Another new Digimon show would always be great. Savers was great, so I'd like to see another fresh take on Digimon. If they make one, I'd like to see the Seven Great Demon Lords as the main villains. Yeah, we had Lucemon in Frontier and Belphemon in Savers, but mostly the Demon Lords haven't shown up too much so far. Maybe give the Royal Knights a break. After Frontier, X-Evolution, and Savers they could use some much needed time off.
Another thought. Remakes of older manga-based series. Think of a well paced, filler free version of Dragonball. Salivating yet?
Just some general ideas. I'd like to see what other people think, and maybe come up with some other ideas.

I personally wouldn't mind a remake of DB/DBZ with no filler, and more modern animation. Although, the original anime will always have a place in my heart.

A couple of video games made to anime:
Snatcher: Either the game or a side story of the game into an anime
NiGHTS: They did the comic book series, but i would interesting to see in a cartoon/anime
Panzer Dragoon: Even though there was an OVA, i think there should be another one or a series to go with
Metal Gear Solid: There are the comics, but a animated version would be cool
Virtual Cop: This would be cool to see...
thats all im going to say for now.

Because I have a lack of coherency right now, I'm not even bothering to think of much.
I want to see an anime that catches you from the start, has dry humor and a dramatic doom-filled plot, just enough fanservice to please, chicks that AREN'T extremely annoying, and guys that aren't uber egotistical or uber self-pitying. Oh, and no weird animals.

Sounds good. But animals can be alright when used right (ie, not Plue in Rave Master).
But I agree there need to be more anime that catch you from the start. Often it takes several episodes to really get into a show. It doesn't have to be perfect, just good from the start. In medias res exists for a reason, people.
Not sure I like you wanting 'fanservice to please', though.

But Toei creates the Digimon anime. Why take it away from them, they do a great job with it?
But for Dragonball and Saint Seiya remakes, perhaps giving them to other stuidos would be nice.

A new Captain Harlock saga. I don't mean a 13 episode show like the magnificent Endless Odyssey, I'm talking a TV series of at least 26 episodes where Harlock is the star and Tochiro is alive. Tadashi and/or Yuki Kei can tag along if they want to. And hell, make Emeraldas a recurring character for good measure. Its been a few years now, its time for a proper Harlock story.
Wouldn't mind a Space Battleship Yamato remake, either. Its one of those oldies that I know about but haven't yet seen that I'd love to see modernized.
A third Gundam SEED series that scaled back the super robot angle a bit would be very welcome.
A huge fantasy of mine is a Fate/Stay Night OVA where the "Unlimited Blade Works" story is the focus. Its an awesome plot that got hinted at in the TV series and Archer and Rin are more important there. Sadly I have no idea what the chances of that are, so fantasy is a good word for it right now. I hope DVD's are selling well...
My ultimate fantasy used to be a movie or short OVA that would finally animate Rurouni Kenshin's revenge arc, but with Hirotaka Suzuoki dead I simply can't want that now. There's no way anybody could replace him as Saitoh. :(
Maybe some more later, I'm thinking off the top of my head...

Yeah. I'm going to wait until the movie to start working out my fantasies for it, though.
Hopefully they move it at least 5 years into the future, though. 2 years was far too short of a gap.

I haven't seen a huge amount of anime so nothing too off the wall here.
Another Cowby bebop movie. I know bebop is great as it is, but I can't help but think more would be good, if nothing esle but to hear a version of tank on the big screen. Or just as good would be a samurai champloo movie.
And there is a new trigun manga right? Why not a new trigun anime.
How about condensing some really long series into 26 episode series. They way you would be left with just the best parts of those shows. Imagine 26 episodes, dragonball, or yu yu hakusho. The pacing would move like lightening. Shows I haven't seen like sailor moon or gundam might be easier to get into if they were only 26 epidodes.
And why I wasn't exactly asking for it, I am intrigued by the new eva stuff coming.

26 episodes might be a bit too short for some of those, but definitely all Shounen series could use quickly paced remakes.
Speaking of Sailor Moon, a remake sticking closer to the manga would be awesome. Without all the Toei censorship.
I'd love to see a Madhouse directed Sailor Moon remake. Ranma 1/2 could use similar treatment.

About your "Toei creates the Digimon anime" stance, you could say the same, exact thing about both Dragonball and Saint Seiya, since Toei adapted both into anime from the mangas, which are probably the very true essences of those Japanese media franchises. Also, Toei doesn't care what happens to the majority of their Japanese media properties, so they deserve to be gobbled up by someone, who knows how to treat both anime and tokusatsu properly.

Episode one - Raditz kills Goku
2-5 - Snake way and piccolo teaches Gohan
6 Vegeta and Nappa rampage
7-8 Goku vs. Vegeta
9-10 Namek stuff
12-13 Ginyu Force
14-18 Frieza vs. everybody, (5 minute fight takes 5 minutes0
19 Back to earth, Trunks, androids
20 Android fighting
21-23 cell games
24-26 Buu
Of course there would be zero time for character development, even the strange inconsistent stuff the original had. And everything would move so fast it would make small children's heads explode.

Yeah, but you're leaving Dragonball out. They were one story originally.
78 episodes for Goku meets Bulma through Buu is defeated would probably work. It could work, cutting down on all the excess.
Mr.Kurtz
04-02-2007, 06:38 PM
Well dragonball could be its own 26 episode series.
The fact that were even talking about cutting a close to 500 episode series (I think if you count GT) down to less than 100 shows how much padding there is.
Being less specific I agree that something that grabs the viewer immediately, with likeable characters and good action seems harder to come by then it should be. fma almost did it but it has a few slow shows early, like episode 4.

Hmm...a fantasy anime, huh? Well... here it goes! :D
My fantasy anime would be like a megamix of many genres/types of characters with a storyline which connects them all. It would include a mix of storyline elements and characters of giants robots(Gundam), sentai (Power Rangers/Voltron?), noir/mystery, Street Fighter-like action shows, archeological/Tomb Raiding adventures(Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider), involves another race of people on earth(such as Atlanteans in Tomb Raider), zombies, mutants, aliens(Starship Troopers/Tenchi Muyo), space samurai(we've already had space pirates done), space ninjas, stealth/espionage action(Metal Gear Solid), demons, vampires(like the ones portrayed in Hellsing), post-apocalyptic storylines(like Akira), a bit of comedy thrown in, and even wizards (Harry Potter). :p
It's a crazy idea, but awesome none the less.
That's one of the reasons why I like Megas XLR so much.

Not likely since the manga didn't do too well (i'm told) in Japan, but I'd love to see A.I. Love You (AKA A.I. ga Tomaranai) animated. As much as I love the mangas of Love Hina and Negima, A.I. is still my favorite Akamatsu title. And SHAFT has proven that you can adapt his work and NOT make it suck, unlike the first Negima adaption, and the Love Hina adaption.
Other than that, I just finished the first volume of Yubisaki Milk Tea, and I think It'd make a pretty good series too. And I wouldn't mind seeing something new based on Project A-Ko.

What I didn't like about the Sailor Stars anime was that it made the starlights literally change from female to male when in their non-sailor form. They were supposed to still be females, but just dressed up as men. That was the big mistake that caused Toei to not allow Sailor Stars to be dubbed.

To me those are only details.
But I liked the characterizations of the 5 main senshi better in the anime, compared to the manga.
And Toei is not allowing Stars to be dubbed because they are, well, jerks. Toei even took away the entire Sailor Moon license from North America! This is why ADV's Sailor Moon sets are out of print, Geneon's Sailor Moon S and SuperS is out of print, when the fact is, given its popularity here, Sailor Moon should ALWAYS be in print.
Not to mention Toei's idiocy concerning their other properties (re: originally giving One Piece to 4Kids in the first place and then going 'd'oh!' 2 years later. D'oh doesn't cut it, Toei!).
What more can I say? Toei sucks serious ass.

I was thinking something short, too, since it doesn't need to have some big epic storyline. But then I started thinking about the Simpsons, and how they've stayed on the air for 400 episodes just doing simple, episodic stories that rarely go over-the-top, and focus mostly on things like relationships and family. Heh, I'm sure there's been times before, on really, really basic things.
There are some Simpsons-esque anime, but most tend to be rather humorous and bizarre.
I'm not sure how long a rather down to earth type show could last before running low on ideas.
It's possible they could stretch it out awhile, but I'd think it would get a little old after awhile.

I sort of want One Piece to just catch up with the manga. You know, in the Thriller Bark Arc. The CP9 Arc is soooooo boring. Plus the anime will probably go quicker than manga, thus showing Gecko Moria... He's a giant, but I want to see if he looks really cool, or lame and fat like Dorry and Broggy.

Megami Kouhosei: A remake that's closer to the manga would at least help cover the plotholes by the show's end.

Ok, here's some good game / anime adaptations that would be nice to see:
Zelda
Yea, we had the Mario Super Show version of it, but I want to take one of the better games and just put it in animation. It would be nice if they expanded upon a TRUE story line. I think fans would go nuts over this.
Chrono Trigger
Lets face it, the cut scenes for the remake were too mean of a teaser to never follow up with a series.
Castlevania
The story for Castlevania is rich and very heavily expanded upon. They could start from almost any part of the series and have LOADS of history to work from. The storyline has over 500 years worth of story to be explored. This would particularly be a GREAT series to follow up since the Vampire craze seems to be big right now.
Blast Master
Has anyone ever read the book? Damn, the book expanded into such a great story and could easily make a really good 24 episode series.
Warcraft
Here's another good one. The story hasn't really been given much justice in WoW but many points of the story would be awesome to expand upon. We know a trilogy of movies is coming down SOMETIME in the future (who knows exactly when) but I just don't think they could do any justice to the rich story in 6-8 hours worth of movie screenage. An anime could go on for over 200 episodes and not even get anywhere close to the story overtures in World of Warcraft. Point and case, read "The Last Guardian". Thats one of the best books I've ever read (knowing what happened after the book made it jaw dropping).

*agrees with those that favored the following: FMA anime that's faithful to the manga, a Samurai Champloo movie along with a Cowboy Bebop sequel movie, Megas XLR as an anime, and the following video games made into animes: Zelda, Warcraft, Castlevania and perhaps Kingdom Hearts.*
My own personal enjoyments:
An actual remake of the Dungeons and Dragon Cartoon into an anime with better characters that are closer to actual D&D play, (especially in this time and age of Neverwinter Nights and that Eberron thinge),
An adaptation of God of War series.
And probably adopting a few good fantasy novel series such as the Black Company, Thieves World, A Song of Ice and Fire, and just to fill the seats, Wheel of Time. That last one might need some heavy editing though.

Some very nice ideas, so far.
Adaptions:
Wind-up Tina: What happens when a girl and the other zany inhabitants of a magical island encounter a boy who doesn't have a wind-up key sticking out of his back like everyone else? A good shojo manga I'd love to see animated.
Soldier of Cockroach: A goofy/action series with twists on the Kamen Rider/Metal Hero/Magical Girl dynamic. Alot of slapstick/ecchi content with some good action and bizare monsters(like the trenchcoat monster- a face-less man wearing nothing but a talking tengu mask on his privates, who runs around flashing girls and destroying their clothes). Most deserving of at least a 13+ series or oav.
Beauty Pop: It'd probably be the first anime to deal with beauticians, but the manga is really good.
Guardian 8: A scifi/adventure series from the creator of Sgt. Frog.
Chrono Trigger: Why it doesn't have a anime or even a movie/oav yet I'll never know.
Lunar the Silver Star: see above
Threads of Fate: One of my fav rpgs, would make a good 26+series.
Breath Of Fire: Wouldn't mind a series for this but I don't know if I won't an adaption of games 1 & 2 or an original series that takes elements and characters from all the games.
When Demons Walk: Nobles are dying in the local castle and thief/mage girl Sham has been hired to find out if the killer is an ordinary man or something else entirely. A favorite novel of mind that I always thought would make a good movie or oav.
Battle Beasts: They got an episode in Transformers: Headmasters, now I think they should get an updated series or at least a special.
Continuations/Spin-offs/Remakes:
Phantom Theif Kid: Most deserving of a series or a long oav
Shinzo: A continuation or a remake, we never get to see the other Enteran Kings or lands.
Gad Guard: A stellar anime but it always flet rushed near the last eps. A new series or special to fill in the loose ends. Never got to see the other Units or find out how that lady lost her name to a Gad.
Power Stone: Liked the old series but the ending was kinda weak (at least for some of the characters). A new series with a bigger adventure and the inclusion of the characters from the 2nd game + new ones.
Medarot: A new series or an oav that uses the model types from Spirits but also more characters from the 1st series.(always was ennoyed that Koji, Karin, Mr. Referee, never once make an appearence)
Digimon: Either a sequal to Savers or a special/oav for Tamers or a new series based off the V-Tamer manga or the games.
Thats all I can think up now, brain needs sleep.

I'm not feeling particularly creative...
Berserk. Anything at all, I put this at the top for a reason. Sometimes I lay awake at night thinking about how many people don't know what a piece of work the Berserk manga is.
Dragonball/Z remake. Milk it more. I still like this show a lot.
FLCL. Six episodes? Come on.
Outlaw Star. I remember I used to go batshit over talks of a sequel or prequel for this, and as far as I remember at one point there were plans to make one that got scraped back in like 2001-2002.
Completely scrap Tenchi OVA 3 and redo it. Seriously that thing was way convoluted. Let's make up all these important characters that were never mentioned before at all, and completely reinterpret past events while doing it in 6 episodes. It'll be great. I hated it.
Also since we're mentioning adaptations. On the road/anything Kerouac would be cool.
The Count of Monte Cristo if it hadn't already been done.
Ninja Gaiden 1-3 or the Xbox one.
Jet Set Radio. This has the potential to be terrible, but I don't care. Wait better yet, a comedy about anarcho punx walking around stealing candy bars and other common punk activities. I do enjoy me some good d-beat.

I have the perfect idea for the most cliched anime of all time
1000 years ago giant wars killed most of the people of earth, but they survived because of five girls with magical powers saved them but then they got sucked into the year 1999 when apocalypse happened and man started creating gigantic mechs to kill of evil. Fast forward to a hundred years later and the last humans are fighting gigantic mechs ever since the machines blew 75% of them up with nuclear bombs and genetically engineered the most ferocious animals of all time like mutant Hippos. Thankfully an alien saviour comes to earth and shuts off all the machines and became leader of an elite force of superheroes with gigantic mechs that weren't controlled by evil. Then the humans became corrupted and a small little boy has the power to summon a mech force with his friends and together they fight evil monster that seem to pop out of nowhere. Then the Earth is blown to bits and the survivors go on space ships and go to uncharted areas in the solar system. Meanwhile on another planet a short kid with pointy hair goes on an adventure and finds a magical piece of jewelry that can summon giant monsters of destruction which destroy the cities but never hurt anyone with his politically correct cast and an antihero. In the end everyone lives and an unrelated spinoff is made

A slight remake of Digimon Adventure 02 and Frontier. Slight as in "fix a few kinks here and there."
For 02:
-I'm sure that Episode 12 and 15 could be cut since they don't contribute much to plot and character growth.
- The Partner Digimon getting some development.
-The "Iori forgives Ken" plotline could have been carried over at least subtely throughout the BlackWarGreymon arc instead at the beginning and end of it and Takeru and Hikari's darkness problems would have been resolved.
-A little explanation about where BlackWarGreymon's been hanging around before appearing on Earth and that Agumon and Taichi appear before BlackWarGreymon's demise instead of just WarGreymon since he didn't need to be in that form.
- Not having the background Dark Seed kids changing every scene.
-Instead of 25 years later epilogue, maybe a few months later one where we see everyone resolving their issues and moving on. I was pretty unbothered by BelialVamdemon being destroyed by hopes/dreams/love, so I'd leave that as it be (Though it gives me funny images of the Dark Seed Children killing Demon and Dagomon by hugging them and saying "I love you!").
Notice I also said nothing about changing the romance? Well, I could care less about the Taichi-Sora-Yamato love triangle and have no problem with Sora and Yamato getting together. I was very surprised about the backlash about the scene, since it didn't catch my attention much when I first watched it and I was more wowed by Oikawa's introduction than who dates who. In fact, I see it now as a nice micro plot point, showing that not only could Sora choose who she wanted to date (and was not the mindless roboprice for the main guy), but the three didn't allow that to ruin their friendship and dealt with it quite maturely. In fact, that would have been even more beautiful if Sora wasn't dating anybody and she gently told Taichi that she wasn't interested in him romantically. *Waits to be flamed by Taiora fans for daring not to go the main guy/main girl route*
For Frontier:
- The Trailmon Race and Burgermon episodes could have been cut, but the latter episode has Arbormon in it and provides slight development for Tomoki, so I'm unsure how these should be handled. The Anglar dies episode could be cut, but he later provides transportation for them and I'm kinda unsure on how to handle that too.
- Izumi and Kouichi's development could have been spread out more like everyone else's. I was pretty content with Takuya, Kouji, Junpei, and Tomoki's development, but the other two's felt kinda rushed and would have been better handled being spread out.
- The Royal Knights arc could be reworked a little. I think I saw a plot point in there about providing the Digimon population backbone to fight back and that could have been better developed.
- Dynasmon and RhodoKnightmon getting better development and backstory. Revealing what made Lucemon crack during ancient times.
It says something when the fan of the two "worst" incarnations of Digimon doesn't find much to change in them.
As for other Digimon series, I would like to see the adventures of the International Chosen and the Dark Seed Children so they'd be developed characters instead of awesome eye candy. Maybe Jun, Shuu, Chizuru and Momoe's adventures when they became Chosen (From the CD Dramas).
i'd like to see the Digimon Chronicles manga be adapted to an anime and that there'd be a main girl and a human partner for all the Thirteen Royal Knights (And that the last three would be actually revealed). Which would call for a longer than usual series to better develop all these characters.
I'd like to see a main Partner Digimon that isn't a dinosaur/reptile or at least has feathers. If it still must be dinosaurs, give the other species a chance.
A goggle girl that isn't a tomboy. I wouldn't complain if she was, but the female species recieves so much hate for not being "one of the guys" and being percieved as "weak" if they are feminine or girly, that I'd like to see a girl whose girly and feminine through and through and yet doesn't take any crap.
This is what I'd like to see in Digimon.:D

I'll throw in my support for a fma with the manga storyline.
My first reaction is just more of my favorites, but perhaps the focus should be on shows that had potential but never lived up to it. Like a witch hunter robin where something actually happens or wolf's rain with a good ending.
And ever since I saw the Japanese opening of x-men: tas I've been waiting for an x-men anime. Preferably adaptions of the classic Claremont/Byrne stories.

FLCL. Six episodes? Come on.
Dragonball has been milked to death and the quality of subsequent series in the franchise has gone down and down until the terrible GT. If Toriyama actually has plot ideas, go for it, but without him the show just falls apart.
FLCL was six episodes, but those six episodes had a clear beginning, middle, and end and I don't think there's more you can do with those characters. If you just miss its style and quality, I highly recommend trying to get the chance to see Mindgame and Tekkon Kinreet, along with perhaps Die Buster and a lot of other obscure wackier anime.

I agree with the Outlaw Star and Tenchi OVA 3 ideas. I'd love to see a see a sequel to it or something, though I thought it concluded nicely anyway. Tenchi OVA 3 put way too much emphasis on cramming information and adding "important characters" right out of the blue. It basically took away all that I first loved about Tenchi Muyo, which was the characterization and interaction between them.
Like someone else said before, a Zelda anime and a Metal Gear Solid anime would be cool. I think a Resident Evil OAV or something would neat to see played out.
Also, I agree with the idea of an animated Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin anime. Just as long they keep in with the same style ofcourse.

I think DBZ proved that too much of a good thing is a bad thing. I mean, it's a well explored fact but sometimes we need proof just to see how bad things REALLY get.
You know what they say about history: those who don't learn from it are doomed to repeat it.
Some series need to be driven to the logical end and then just END. Milking a story can make it terrible
I would rather have a legacy stand on its own as the undisputed best at SOMETHING rather then running it YEEEEEEARS past its prime and leaving a sour taste in people's mouths when its all over.

An anime with a protagonist who is a fat or ugly girl, and who doesn't magically change into a supermodel lookalike or something like that. That would be a nice, fresh change of pace.

I wouldn't mind if Toriyama had a chance to redo DBZ and flesh it out a bit so that the later stuff (about half the Cell saga and the Buu saga) can happen the way he intended. If he wants to end it at Frieza, fine. After Cell? Ok. Just hopefully, it would manage to top the old anime and flesh out the non-alien characters.

Sazae-San is more-or-less Simpsons-Lite from what I've heard and has gone on for a thousand episodes.
Shin-Chan is Simpsons plotlines with more raunchy humor and it has been on for a few hundred episodes as well.
I've heard of Sazae-San but never seen it. From what I've seen the style seems pretty dated though. And Shin-Chan is too over-the-top for what I was talking about. I would say it's more like the equivalent of Family Guy or South Park than the Simpsons.
Something else I've thought of that no one's mentioned. I'd like a series, or more preferably movies/ova that cover the remainder of the Nausicaa manga that the first movie didn't cover.

A shoujo series, but with a male lead. It's an odd idea, but it could be rather interesting. Obviously it would still have a large amount of female pressence, but it seems like it could be pretty unique and set itself apart from the pack.

Yeah, I'd also like MadHouse to make a second season. I loved the first one, and I just don't like the manga as much (the anime character designs are superior to the manga's, for one thing).
I'd also like a new Dragon Ball series with awesome animation like that in the game openings. That would be pwnage. But of course, it'd have to actually be good, unlike GT. And I'd like it to take place at the end of DBZ, following the adventures of Gohan, Goten, and Trunks. (I loved Goten's look we only got to see for one episode at the very end of DBZ.)

Part 2
Continuations/Spin-offs/Remakes:
Digimon: a 02 special with a longer B.WarGreymon VS. WarGreymon and a modified 25yrs[or none at all](never thought Matt winding up an astronaut instead of a rockstar was belivable, nor Yolie as just a housewife). From what I've heard about the radio dramas they sound like they'd make good oavs.
A new series starring the 2 starters from the new Digimon Story II game would be good or a series based of the premise of Battle Spirits I -warriors from past, present, and future brought together to combat the threat of Millieniumon or Digimon World 3(the old commercial is still fresh in my mind).
Pokemon: Some more Chronicles/Josou specials would be nice but what I would like is a special that has Ash and co. invited to a tournament in a new region(w. the standard shady undertunes) and runs into Richie and alot of other trainers that he's met since season 1 & up. Needless to say the villians for this would be far more competent and their plans are bigger than just stealing everyones pokemon. Then throw in alot of battles, missing scientists, and Brock freaking out from the number of lovely ladies in attendance.
A Mystery Dungeon series would also work for me.
Outlaw Star: Another spin-off or sequel would be nice, particularly if they envolved some of the aliens and rival pirates that were mentioned but never seen.
Spiral: A good mix of serious drama and comedy, that ended on a satisfactory note but left more of the story to be told. Such as where is Lil Nurumi's older brother or why are the Blade Children cursed. Since there's more to the manga to animate it could use another series.
Fruits Basket: Like above there's more to animate so a new series isn't out of the question.
Dual: wouldn't mind seeing a sequal or another series.
El-Hazard: see above....most preferably a mixture of the elements from oav & tv series.
Slayers: There's a Saturn game I'd love to see as an anime if only because it stars the regular tv cast plus Naga(though she and Amelia are never in the same place at the same time).
SD Gundam Force: Would love any sequel that gives me even more cool/bizare Gundam Worlds to explore.
Adaptions:
Yotsuba&! : I'd love to see this manga animated, it's just to hilarious not to be.
PHD: Phantasy Degree: It's got that Slayers vibe, and alot of action/humor 26+ eps at least.
Disgaea 2: They did a series for the 1st one, so it's a no brainer, but I'd prefer the next eps. previews be done in the traditional Etna blows everything out of proportion/context.
Makai Kingdom: An interesting game that also allows for alot of cameos from other Nippon Ichi games due to it's multiverse-isk set-up.
NamcoXCapcom: A tv series would be most enjoyable.
SD Hero: Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Gundam have all had SD specials so one that features them all is quite conceivable.
Megaman: Either a series based off the classic series(kinda like the Dreamwave comic), or something akin to the Legends or RX series.
Feather: A Steven Yu comic I'd love to se animated. A kid's greatest dream is to be a dragon slayer, problem is his best friend happens to be a dragon.
Victory: Another comic I'd like to animated-think D&d players meet sexy super warrior elf; magic and mayhem insue.
Well that's about it.
Once again sleep beckons.

Probably Xianghua, since she's the one who actually uses SoulCalibur.
SC2 seemed to suggest that Xianghua, Kilik, and Maxi were supposed to be the "big three" hero-type characters. The series only has a handful of outright villains (Nightmare, Cervantes, Ashtaroth, Raphael). Everybody else falls somewhere in the middle, and even Nightmare has a "good" ending if you win with him.

That could make a very good series but I think it MIGHT need some major fleshing out. Soul Caliber always felt like they took a random story line and forced it into a fighting game. The story concepts are really neat.
I would suggest that if a series such as this came to play, it would almost need to start with Nightmare as the main character BEFORE he was corrupted.

Well, then we're looking at a SoulEdge series, starring Siegfried.

There's this really great Pokémon fan fic that was written by a long since past writer on Serebii named Ross Ferguson. I remember saying to myself, now this is Pokémon. Serious villans, hard trials, and complex characters. I'd love to have this animated (I've got all twenty-one chapters saved on my computer and permission to post them from Ferguson if anybody is interested. Sadly the Ferguson gave up after twenty-one chapters and left me on a HUUUGE cliffhanger, literally).
