View Full Version : Why are all the threads being deleted?

Usually they're just locked, and that's awesome because you can go back and reminisce and all that fun stuff... it really sucks that instead they're being deleted.

I agree. I always enjoy looking back on all the fun, so I think it bites that we can't do that.

Sure we'll be able to remember everything, but it's always nice to have an archive.

I have to third the sentiment.

I really wish the threads weren't being deleted. There's a lot of fun memories from this past day that I'd like to look back at.:(

Well, if you want threads in the Anime or Toonami Forums to be un-deleted, you'll have to appeal to Karl/Mynd Head/Chad/Maune, since I don't plan on bringing them back.

The Toonami forum threads in particular were pretty disappointing. "4Kids takes over Naruto/Toonami"? That's the best some of you could do?

The Toonami forum wasn't great this year, I'll grant you that. I was more focused on the Cafe and the Anime forum.

Yeah, Toonami forum'll keep them deleted, in my opinion.

Some might be fun to keep in an archived form. Perhaps a vote on the best of the day being brought back locked?

Basically, a thought I had last night was that if the problem is either threads clogging up finding the real threads(the Cafe had 6 threads of April Fools Day stuff, for example), or 'adding to post counts', the best option would be to make an 'April Fools Archive Forum'. All the threads could be moved there, and if the staff feels that these posts shouldn't count towards post counts, then they can disable them for that forum.

This would allow us to keep them around and revisit those memories, as well as letting people who weren't around for the fun to see everything.

It's definetly a thought. Only thing for me is, do we need to archive all of them? Some were probably best left deleted to be honest.

Well, then we enter the slippery slope of personal opinion. A thread that you think is 'best left deleted' others might consider an 'instant classic'.

I'm not here to pass judgment, at any rate. Just making a suggestion that I think could please everyone.

Well, I include some of my own stuff in that. Some of what was posted is kinda "You had to be there" stuff. Anime in particular had alot of reused jokes which depending on who you are wore thin quick.

Yeah, I certainly understand, and I'm not sure I want to re-read everything I said yesterday, either.

I'm just saying that we enter tricky ground when we try and bring a quality arguement into all of this.

The Cafe topics should be undeleted and archived somewhere.

The whole thing with Kuwabara confessing his love for Duke was the best running storyline all day.

Along with the whole "We Love Sam" thread. That was classic.

Your mom was classic...:p
I had to do that just one more time, just for the sake of doing it and my own wellbeing. But I agree with all of you. That was really so much fun. It's a shame I cant go back and reread a few things that made me laugh, or even go o_o a few thousand times. I had hoped to come online this morning and catch the threads that I missed, but isntead found them all gone... along with my post count. An archive sounds like an awesome idea.

Trust me, I DON'T want to ever ever ever utter it again. I've had enough of saying or seeing the phrase 'your mom' for about 15 years.

Heh. Yeah, I really enjoyed posting all that. Funny thing is, it basically started as a joke between Kury and I a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad that people who weren't 'in' on it sitll found it funny.

It was in the Cafe, actually.

Like I said, basically an inside joke. You're probably better off not getting it.

You and KtM apparently had an affair, Duke. Babies were involved, IIRC.

Of course you wouldn't.

See, this is exactly why I went back to Kury. I'd let you visit the kids, but KtM/anime forum relations are soured after Karl made me buy all those pizzas.

Well, I WOULD pay child support, but then I wouldn't be able to afford anime DVDs & Manga. That's too much of a sacrafice, you understand.

Yet another strike agianst everything working out!

*couldn't give that stuff up, either*

I was getting annoying at myself, acutally. Which was why I didn't stop. My goal was to make people tired of it. Sheesh people.

It's understandable. It's obvious you wanted to annoy people with that on purpose.
