Yes, lets! I told my friend Alex about this. And, he said that he understood the tentativeness of this.

For my opinion, I'm going to laugh at whatever happens. I have back-up shows!

They're still not showing the movie.

I'd bet money on it.

Place your bets:

50 to 1: Regular Schedule
100 to 1: Saved By The Bell Marathon
500 to 1: They Actually Show The Movie
1000 to 1: The postponed Bleach, Blood+, & Eureka 7.

Off-topic: Zach, Anything Else/Cards/Schedule! still has its joke title.

On-topic: I'll laugh at whatever happens.

I guess this makes up for last night's PHF marathon they stuck us with. (Sorry PHF fans but I couldn't get into it)

EDIT: Oh looks like it's a practical joke after all.

They're actually showing it in the corner! So tiny.

Aqua teen hunger force colon movie film for theaters on TV!

Neo Ultra Mike
04-01-2007, 10:06 PM
I guess that's technically the movie though it's not in any watchable shape. That's probably the joke though. I wonder how this will work though for commericals since they said anti commericals but they're going to have one for Futurama and co right?

Master Moltar
04-01-2007, 10:08 PM
The bump said it would be airing with commercials, actually.

That was pretty clever though.

Ishtar
04-01-2007, 10:08 PM
That was great. They actually show the start of the movie for like the 1st 5 mins, but then switches to Futurama. The movie is still airing, but it's a tiny picture in picture with no sound on the left hand corner.

Rolling Cloud
04-01-2007, 10:08 PM

Wow. [as] has suprised me again. Nice job with the fake-out and making the movie so friggin' tiny.

Now, crazed anime fans who think they (by they, I mean [as]) hate anime, STFU until 2008 (or until another excuse comes up).

BTW, The Masters begin Thursday on CBS. (typo: should have been USA on Thursday)

Is it wrong I saw this coming the whole time, yet I'm not laughing? In fact, that I'm pretty pissed of, even?

I didn't know nearing 22 made you an old fogey...

SpaceCowboy
04-01-2007, 10:16 PM
I had kinda predicted that it would shrink to extremely small size on the screen at some point, like those channels that squish the end credits of movies. :D

The Koopinator
04-01-2007, 10:16 PM
Well, I guess it wasn't false advertising. I was hoping for Stripes, but this was hilarious too.

And this is comedy so there won't be mass *****ing.

04-01-2007, 11:07 PM
Well this is mildly disappointing, after what they pulled yesterday I expected something a bit more... grandiose. There's really nothing negative at all, everyone got a preview of the movie and amusing ads, along with those promos with the fire and all during boring reruns to keep them interesting. Here's hoping they pull something later on tonight:shrug:

Dangerous_D
04-01-2007, 11:22 PM
I fell like going down to there office and kicking every single one of them in the balls for what they did last night

Why would they pull something on April 2nd?

Inkan1969

Aqua Teen Hunger Force COLON Movie Film for Thumbnail. :D Someone will have to blow the picture up and put the movie on youtube. ;)

sag_2002
04-01-2007, 11:27 PM
Well, this at least comes close to making up for last night's PHF marathon. I wasn't buying it when they announced the movie was gonna be shown on TV at the convienient April 1 date, and I knew they were gonna pull something. Props to AS for actually keeping their promise, while pulling the annual prank.

However, I still say last year's Chuck Norris/GITS Fart episode/Mr. T prank is the best of all time, unless something comes along in the future to change that.

probably the same reason they pulled stuff yesterday when it was still march 31st for most people... they are bastards and like to mess with people

They didn't do anything until Midnight (AKA April 1, not March 31)

J.E.Smith
04-01-2007, 11:42 PM
For all we know they'll probably just cut back to the movie right when the credits start...unless that wavy stuff just now was them.

I wasn't paying attention to the movie the whole time, but it looked as if Shake was missing his hands and Meatwad was really fat there a few minutes ago.

EDIT: Well the screen is gone now so I guess those were the credits then.

Kiryu
04-01-2007, 11:46 PM

Has this been YouTubed yet? I don't mean I want something where someone actually tried to blow up the microscopic video and submit that. I mean I want to see how the whole thing went down: the first minute, then the shrink.....

Very clever AS. I thought they were gonna pull the same thing they did Saturday but they didn't.

J.E.Smith
04-02-2007, 10:44 AM
Actually I thought it would have been funnier if they showed it all but have them all speak a forgein language or something with no subs.

Beat
04-02-2007, 01:05 PM
It was funny and intrusive, but not nearly as intrusive as PHF.

The whole thing didn't really scream "Gotcha!" so much as it did, "Watch the Aqua Teen movie, in theatres April 13th."

And dumb question- Did anyone else think that dancing black guy looked like Will Smith?

Fan of Sponge
04-02-2007, 02:18 PM
So I guess they showed a sneak preview of the movie on April Fools Day to get people to buy tickets when the movie comes to theatres on April 13. Nice move from executives to get people and fans pumped about the movie and that it is the truth. Hopefully the movie comes to my small town.

That Futurama episode was good and probably one of the best episodes for that entire series.

Now, if I was to give my full opinion on this movie, the page as a whole would probably crash, so I'm going to be as brief as possible.

The ATHF Colon Movie was just this really powerful, moving drama with a lot of heart. The humor was beyond brilliant, especially that scene where
The characters did a little of this and a little of that.

It's right up there with Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm, Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker, Gargoyles: City Of Stone.

Okay so last night, during the bumps, they were showing artwork for the movie...and there was this one shot where they zoomed in on Carl's crotch. :ack: I really didn't need to see that. Now I'm scarred for life. Thank you, Adult Swim.

if athf is successful enough to greenlight another [as] movie film project for theaters, which would you like to see next?

My first choice is The Venture Bros., however, if they can wrap up production in time, I'd think a Boondocks film following the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama would be ripe w/ satirical potential.

Well for the ATHF:MFFT prank, i knew something was going to happen when they had the TV Parental Guidelines rating (or as i call them: TV Content Rating) of TV-MA. the commercial had said TV-MA LV... dang, i pay too much attention to the ratings.

Over here, it's playing at a few AMC Selects, which air some indie flicks and limited releases. It's also showing at one theatre with mainstream movies and a few other smaller theatres that show niche movies.

This is off-topic but there was a trailer for Paprika before ATHF. Kinda cool.

As for ATHF, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. There were certainly laughs but it felt like it ran out of steam too soon. Front page review coming soon once I get my thoughts in order.

EDIT: Since the movie is now out and the talkback thread is up, all discussion should go there. Locking this...
