Anyone read Kevin Smith's "Superman Lives" screenplay? I just read it today. I liked it. It was toung-in-cheak, with knowing assides to that fans, but it managed to be dramatic and serious at times. The contrast of the smirking one-liners to the violence and emotion heleped humanize the characters and balance out the story.
It made good use of multiple villians...Braniac, Luthor and Doomsday
Id reccomend reading it, if you haven't yet.

You can find the scripts to other Supe-films there too, produced or not. Great site.

I liked certain things. But the whole "Death of Superman" thing was a little rushed. I loved the reference to Gotham when Superman apprehended Deadshot in the beginning.
The script assumed that people knew about Lois and Clark, and a lot of other stuff, and really, for me, was a little TOO tongue-in-cheek.

It was an interesting mix of the Reeves movies, the current comics and Smith's sense of humor, but quite honestly it was a little disapointing.
I didn't read all of it, my copy was cut short, but it seemed a little to cute or cheesy at times. Superman should be easy to digest sure, but there seemed to be a bit to much sugar on top.
I'll have to print out this linked version, so I can finish the rest of it.

The script is good. I don't understand why WB didn't make it happen. Even my dad whose been a superman fan for over 30+ years likes it.

Not too far into it, but I like it okay so far. Boy I can't stand that whole screenplay money making deal. Screenplays are asked to be written, and purchased, then they sit on a shelf forever. I guess it's nice for the writer though. :p

It wasn't too bad at all, though it did seem a tad rushed. Still, it would have made for a better flick than the Tim Burton version would have... I like the guy, but he's just too darned dark for the world's most powerful Boy Scout.
