View Full Version : What deserves an Action Figure line?

So, what do you think deserves a toy line the most?
Personally, as much as I'd love to see a full Evil Dead Triology toy line, McFarlane has at least made a couple figures, so I'm happy. BUT, I REALLY want some Pulp Fiction toys. How about a Jules & Vincent 2 pack, with a suitcase(w/ open-light up action :p ), their guns...and maybe a toilet for Vincent(hehe)

I actually think McFarlane productions was thinking about making a Pulp Fiction line of figures. I just want the gimp figure. ;)

I'd like to see Stephen King characters, but the licensing would be hell to cut through with all the different companies. And it would go beyond just figures.

i.e.

Jack Torrance (The Shining: Jack Nicholson with bloody axe)
Carrie (Carrie: in bloody Prom Dress)
Charlie McGee (Firestarter: engulfed in flames)
Cujo (the dog in all his rabid fury)
Christine (the Plymouth Fury in diecast metal)
Mr. Barlow (Salem's Lot: the tall Nosferatu looking vampire)
Pennywise (IT: Nuff Said)
Randall Flagg (The Stand: the Walking Man himself)
Roland of Gilead (The Dark Tower series)

other possibilities:
John Smith (Dead Zone)
John Coffey (Green Mile)
Annie Bates (Misery)

I'm hog tied between Ghostbusters and Back To THe Future. I want a wonderfully detailed line of BOTH and I want them NOW. But I voted for GB just cuz I haven't had a GB figure since the 80s.

I was going to put Back to the Future, but then I saw Ghostbusters, so of course I had to vote for them! I agree with Nighty, if they were detailed, and not some crappy version, I would so love to see those figs on the shelves.

I've been wanting Ghostbusters-movie figures since I was a baby. But, alas..I have just about given up hope. No matter how much I want my Ray & Winston w/ slime packs...or Peter Venkman with voice chip, which makes cocky remarks...Or, good ol' Egon, with a twinky. *sigh*.

i'd love to see ghostbusters return to the action figure scene again...maybe we could finally get a cool looking slimer...i'm also kinda torn though, cause i'd love to see a back to the future line of figures and a new deluxe delorean car would be cool as heck...

and i also gotta go with "other"...what about a robocop series in something like a movie maniacs set??....we could get robo and the ed-209 from the first movie, kane from the sequel, plus the android ninja and robo w/ a jetpack from the third film...that would probably make a killer figure line also...

btw-is this poll going to be used by an actual action figure company like mcfarlene or something?

I liked the ghostbusters cartoon and the toys based on it better, but I do like the movies too and would like to see figures of some of the ghosts from them...

Well overall I say StarWars because we're not really getting ACTION figures, we're getting scene-specific statues with articulation.

I'd have to say either Ghostbusters or Back to the Future, Ghostbusters had an action figure line back in early 90's but they were mostly cartoonish looking.

Dude!!! Nothing could be cooler than having an action figure of the marshmellow man from Ghostbusters! (Well, maybe getting back my original Optimus Prime that my mom threw away would be better :( )

I REALLY want to see Hannibal action figures. Especially a Hannibal action figure, complete with utensils and an ez bake oven. And perhaps we could have another action figure who's skull comes off for easy access!

Oh yeah! I think we all would like that. McFarlane has been working for years to get Hannibal in the Movie Maniacs line, but Anthony Hopkins simply doesn't want his likeness in plastic. My question is...why not??

I voted for the Back to the Future Trilogy. Three of the best movies EVER.

GL2k2 :
I'd like to see Stephen King characters...

Must forget Church the cat (Pet Semetary), Mr. Gaunt, the shopowner in Needful Things; Toomes, the disturbed passenger from The Langoliers, complete with a Langolier with a real working mouth; and Dolores Claiborne (though it'd look just like Annie Wilkes, both being played by Kathy Bates).

The top of my list is more of those poseable figures Hasbro made of Pokemon humans... I heard "Oak" and "Tracey" were planned at one point. :(

Digimon humans. Bandai made all of the 1st season kids, some poseable and others not. Unimpressive paint jobs all around, to boot. I'd love to see all 12 Adventure kids, 8? Tamers, and the 4-so-far Frontiereers in nicely sculpted, painted action figure form.

Those South Park figures McFarlane showed at Toy Fair some years back.

Middle Earth characters not in the on-going LOTR film adaption and never releaser in Toy Vault's line (does their Frodo really look like Old Elvis or is bad promo pictures?)

Gollum plushies! Just what every well-adjusted child needs and oh so desperately wants. :P

Gargoyles. I didn't really like the ones released by Hasbro, between the different style from the show and all the characters I want toys of.

Year Without a Santa Claus. So I can reenact all of my R-B fic, not just the part with Hermey and Yukon. :D

Anime style Star Wars figures. Main and cult characters from each installment.

Nearly Headless Nick, and Voldemort-drinking-blood-from-a-dead-unicorn set. The latter would fit perfectly with the slime figures they have out now.
