Fav bit: the opening card dedication to the humble duck hunter who leaves home with a loaded gun in the morning and returns at night loaded. Watch also for the duck's strip-tease as it comes out of its shell. Tex Avery was one twisted dude....
"My Green Fedora"
This one saves Peter Rabbit from being a lowly one-shot. When he donned the green cap and cigar and did that shuffling walk, was Peter imitating some celebrity?
"Little Gravel Voice" (MGM)
A donkey's atrocious voice proves to be a godsend. Fav scene: after LGV scares the wolf a few times--at one point he's shaking like he's hopped up on coffee--he goes nuts and pulls a Brody off a cliff. The sound effects the foley guy used are hilarious. The end credits have a notice to buy war bonds.
"Plenty of Money and You"
What an odd title--I didn't see money or you in this one anywhere. How in blazes does an ostrich hatch from a chicken egg? My mom asked during this one, "How come when somebody cooks an animal in cartoons they don't bother to kill it first?" Her favorite bit was seeing the bird, just having eaten dynamite, turn red as it heated up in the oven. I didn't know ostriches ate everything in sight like that--goats and dogs, yes, but ostriches?

Sure, they do! Haven't you ever seen "Donald's Ostrich"? ;)
