I love Justice League and I consider myself a fan. I have enjoyed every episode I have seen so far. Please understand this when I critisize this show. It is because I like the show so much that I wince this much when something bothers me. :bosko: Try to see that as a fan of animated DC shows that have aired prior, I hold JL to a very high standard. Here's where I stand. I've seen many complaints about dialogue. But dialougue is not my problem as much as the lack of good stories. I do understand that the plots here are not going to be of the same nature as in B:TAS considering the nature of the shows. But the threat of the end of the world at the hands of an all powerful being with no motive is not only tired. It's mindless. These don't have to be detective stories to be complex and deep. We've spread these story arcs over two, even three 22 minute episodes and they seem more shallow than ever.
Reguarding Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Hawk Girl. These characters need WORK. Sure The Flash is the "funny "one, GL is the "angry" one, and as far as I can tell, WW seems to be the "gullible" one. These are all fine, but they are forced stereotypes. We need to know about these characters' pasts and what they really feel. I want to know what is inside their heads. As far as Martian Manhunter goes I feel they did a beutiful job introducing him in Secret Origins. Superman and Batman had their own shows, and MM was given a history and real feelings right off the bat. We know who he is. Now let's see more of him.
Reguarding art and animation. These women suffer from the same "basketball head" and "dentil floss waist" syndrome that has plaugued these shows for years. I just know that in the original B:TAS Catwoman was sexy and veluptuos, without having the proportions of one of those "grey" aliens. No I don't expect the literal darkness of B:TAS. I know this would not be apropriate. But that is not the only change we've seen over the years and I think it's only gotten worse.
I don't want to presume I know that someone specific deserves blame. Ultimately everyone who works on the show just needs to try harder. And we, the posters, need to start listening to what each other have to say instead of just flaming. I'm going to watch Justice League to the end unless it gets considerably worse, and I'm going to like it. I just want to say the show would be alot better with more focus on plot and character, and less emphasis placed on action. As fans it is up to us to discuss our feelings, negative or positive. Some threads have opened here about suggestions for the show and that is nice. I feel the complaint threads are, ultimately, suggestions themselves. Debate is a stimulating practice. Fighting is just flaming.
There was something else I wanted to say, but it seems to have escaped me.
