Saw this on ANN. I have no idea what this will be about, but judging by the staff this is a show to keep an eye out for.
A related serialized manga starting in May is described as "occult tactic action." Hmm.
Shirow Masamune and Production I.G. Announce Ghost Hound
Production I.G. has announced its 20th year anniversary project, "Ghost Hound". Shirow Masamune, creator of Ghost in the Shell, is writing the anime. Other staff on the project include Ryutaro Nakamura (Serial Experiments Lain, Kino's Journey), scriptwriter Chiaki Konada (Serial Experiments Lain, Big O), and character designer Mariko Oka (Jing: King of Bandits). The series is set to premiere on Wowow in Japan this fall. Wowow's Japanese homepage (http://www.wowow.co.jp/anime/ghosthound/) is now online as well.

Big O? King of Bandit Jing?
How can this not win?
Konaka raises both my anticipation and my worriness.
And I thought for a second it was a new GitS anime, since "Hound" is cut off on the main forum page.

Hmm, Konaka X Nakamura X Shirow. This is probably going to be one heck of a sci-fi mindscrew, but if they get some western backers from the start (come on Bandai, you know it's worth the money,) it'll be visually outstanding too. Definitely a title to look forward too, but lets just hope Konaka isn't allowed to write the ending - that should be Shirow's so we get something more definitive and emotionally rewarding/intense/worthwhile. I don't feel like watching a Big O 2/Texhnolyze redux.

Sounds like some talented people working on this. It could be interesting, especially with Chiaki Konaka onboard.
Should be better than Sleep Alone Complex at least.

This looks really good, and the fact that its going to be on wowow means there is going be to little or no censorship.

I'm majorly stoked for this! All the major players for Production I.G. (except for Mamoru Oshii for some reason) will be a part of this new series. I can't wait to see what comes out of it! :D

Bandai would license this but this looks like the kind of show that Manga entertainment would love to get their hands on.

The pedigree alone is quiet impressive. I do hope they let Nightrow do most of the writing rather than Konaka. I want something that makes sense. I think we can garuntee that the animation will be mindnumingly beautiful.

I suppose the question is who has the bank. Realistically though, I'd rather have this as a co-pro, and I'm not sure either currently has enough saved up to really properly back IG on this. Granted, if they split the tab GitS:SAC2ndGiG style, it might work.
