When voting, please note that all these options have to do with how well it handles the origins, stories, and the character interaction of Batman and it's other characters.

For other, please mention what that thing is, although I think I mentioned all the possible options.

This poll will end in a week and a half, and I hope this thread will have good responses so I could possibly do another poll.

Like you didn't see this coming - Animated Batman. They took away all the fat and excess baggage (no, not that horrible Alicia Silverstone movie) and left a lean, mean crime fighting machine with a killer rogues gallery and an amazing design. While the comics are great, the animated series is just a hair above.

"Batman" from 1989 rocked, Batman Returns was ok (the batmissile trick rocked) but overall, the animated series rules. :D

I'd have to say animated Batman. Of all the Batman movies, the first had the essense of Batman the best, but still, I think that animated Batman does an even better job. And out of B:TAS, TNBA and BB, it would B:TAS all the way for me, on which one did the best job carrying the essence. The Joker design in B:TAS is definetly my favorite, as well as Catwoman, Mad Hatter, etc. Though the TNBA Scarerow was quite freaky looking...the B:TAS seemed to match the comic version more.

I'm gonna go with comic Batman too. While Jim is right that they cut away all the excess fat from the Batman mythos, there's alot of stuff on the animated series that they aren't aloud to do that they can do in the best of the Batman comics.

Animated version without a doubt. BTAS is the best of all. Nothing can top it. And you guys are right, Kevin Conroy is BATMAN!!!! My friend here of course goes with the lame movies, but what can I say.

I picked the comics Batman over the animated Batman only because I won't take any Joker origin other than the one shown in The Killing Joke.

Animated Batman.

He's everything the comics Batman should be.

I'm kind of surprised not a lot people picked the comics Batman, since after all, this is where Batman started and most of his other characters. In my opinion, I picked animation Batman because I think it handled it almost perfectly. I still love the Comics Batman since a lot of the cool stories can only be printed in comics and a lot of the stories in the comics can't be done in animation because of time-restraints or censorship. But, I still like the animation Batman just a tad bit better.

By the way, does anyone have ideas for future polls?

The Animated version had it down pat

BTAS did an excellent job of showing Batman's dark side, ya know, the one where he doesn't really care how he gets the bad guys, as long as he does. The other ones seemed a little bit more sympathetic to me.

Batman(1989) was the very fist movie I saw in the theatre and it will always be on of my favorites, but the Animated Series was just far superb! Kevin Conroy IS Batman, there will never be another better. The art, writing, and tone of the series is excellent and really is what batman is all about. While the animated comics have dissapointed me as of late, those 109 episodes are the best version of Batman ever to be!

I had to go with Animated. It's easily the one I like the best.

I love the animated Batman for all the reasons already mentioned. But the real reason I voted for the B:TAS Batman is that he's the most balanced. Almost every other version of Batman I have ever seen has been one extreme or the other. The 60's show, 50's & 60's comics, and Schumacher movies are too light and campy for my taste, while the 40's comics, modern comics and Burton movies are often too dark and depressing. The animated Batman is neither goofy/spoofy nor Greek tragedy; he's a good man who has suffered terrible pain in his life, but still believes in justice and goodness. He's not a cynic, he doesn't think Fate's out to get him, he honestly believes that people are inherently good, and he even has a sense of humor-- but he does still have a dark side: he mourns tragedies that he can't understand, he protects his loved ones so obsessively he ends up alienating them, and he sometimes doubts himself and his mission to the point of questioning his own sanity. All the best characteristics of Batman, all the many facets of his personality, were brought together in B:TAS, and not one of them, light or dark, was overemphasized. The result was, IMHO, not only the best, but the truest representation of Batman ever presented.
