The ROTJ DVD Unedited Cover, why is it the same as the Edited version?? If WB goes with this, IMO it's gonna be a real chore looking for and figuring out which one is the DVD by a little PG sticker on the back... :(
I knew there was a catch. They always screw the little things up

I think there's one of those parental advisory stickers on the wrapper of the uncut one. At least I hope so, I dn't want to come home and find I have two copies of the edited ROTJ

yeah, I know. There BETTER be a un-cut sticker on it...
I have a feeling they are using the same cover art for this reason:
All the DVD's were supposedly printed, pressed and everything w/ the UN-EDITED version. They probably had it all wrapped up and ready to ship when the fiasco happened.
My theory..and I'm stickin' to it.. :)

Hm, interesting point. WB was at the phase where they sent screener tapes, so maybe they did print a batch. So, come to think of it, releasing the unedited version helps them get rid of old stock.
Ah well. I'm just glad the damned thing's coming out.

Or they're just too cheap to come up with better artwork because they don't care about BB fans and just want more money which they know they'll get by releasing the un-edited version. :D

Okay I guess I'm stupid or something because I just bought the other version of ROTJ, the cut one. Now I thought that the deleted scenes mentioned on the cover were the infamous cut scenes, I had heard about.
Now I'm hearing that there's two versions of the DVD?
Whats the deal?

The minutes should be longer too.

the minutes, even on the disc and cover, are the same. WB didn't bother to print new ones up.
the deleted scenes are just the story boards that weren't finished..
and the UN-EDITED version comes out APRIL 23rd. The version you bought came out Dec. 13th, 2000

This sounds like the most plausible reason. Remember the recall happened less than a 90 days before the DVD was set to hit. DVD cases are usually printed/created about 3 - 4 months in advance. This means there was likelt tonnes of these created before the mess happened. This will let WB get rid of alot of old stock. I bet all they'll do is slap a new sticke ron the plastic.

ROTJ uncut is indeed longer. I read it in some article, I can't remember where.
And does anyone else find it extremely cool that the DVDs are being offered through DC Direct?

ROTJ Unedited is longer by only a minute or two as some of the deleted footage was replaced with new animated. Still, it's not surprising the WB has basically done nothing with the unedited DVD.
