Just wondering, did "Frigid Hare" have the usual edits, as listed on the Censored Cartoons page, or had something new been added?

The only thing missing was Bugs' line about not having to return to work until July, 1953 at the end.

Oh, ok, good. I was worried they might edit more, like Merrie Melodies did in the early '90s.

"Swallow the Leader" was skipped.

Why? What's wrong with that cartoon?

Absolutely nothing, they probably just made a mistake.

I don't see why it's necessary to edit out a line of dialogue just because it's time sensitive. Even most kids must realize that these cartoons were made many years ago.

THE OLD GREY HARE holds up very well despite the fact it's obviously dated. Of course, kids might be disappointed when they see it's 2002 and Smell-o-vision has NOT replaced television; and that there's no Buck Wodgers Wightning Quick Wabbit Kiwwer on the market.

How 'bout how Bugs points out in SOUTHERN FRIED RABBIT that the Civil War ended "almost ninety years ago"? Or how Rocky and Mugsy are described in BUGS AND THUGS as driving a "1952 Acme". :)

In numerous shorts a calendar, magazine cover or newspaper carrying the year the cartoon was made is visible.

We KNOW the cartoons are dated. That's a large part of their charm! :D
