One of the most aggressive has been Burger King Holdings. The chain has focused over the last year on lifting the profile of its "king" mascot, a mute character best known for his creepy smile. The burger baron recently starred in a series of video games, and the company says it has lined up a studio and distributor for a feature film.
Russ Klein, Burger King's president of global marketing strategy, won't reveal the studio's identity or the likely plot. But he says the movie could appear as early as the end of this year, with the film aimed at "creating a back story for the king."
Guess Hollywood has finally ran out of ideas.

Am I the only person in the world who LIKES the Burger King? Not that I think he could support a movie (even an intentionally bad one) or anything, nor am I willing to shell out for his crappy games, but I think the mascot himself is cool. He's an El Freako in tights and a creepy mask who distributes hamburgers to those in need... of hamburgers. What could be better than that?

It's official Burger King:

He is creepy and I've been thinking since he first appeared that he'd be perfect for the slasher in a horror film. Of course, BK would never do that, but that'd be my move.

I have no idea what to think of this. It sounds stupid, but... it's The King.

Of course not. Have you seen the internet?

Hmm. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places; everywhere I go he gets nothing but hate.
...Although I guess in all seriousness that I can't really blame folks, what with the crappy Xbox games that outsell actual good games and all.

I gotta agree with DarkAngel, the Burger King would fit pretty well in a horror movie, what with the creepy plastic mask and the sneaking around people's bedrooms and all.
Ah well, we shouldn't worry too much, at least not until we see "Boston Rob Mariano: The Movie" going out to theaters...:ack:

You wouldn't be saying that if you knew the secret behind what Whoppers are really made out of.

A horror movie... That actually has a lot of potential. Although I guess maybe full-on horror would be too obvious. Maybe more of a psychological thriller.

For what it's worth, I'd rather see this than Little Man 2 or something. I think Hollywood could stand a few more movies with ridiculous premises that don't constantly remind you how ridiculous the premise is, and this could be that movie. For instance, my sister and I both think an action movie based on the video game Burger Time would be awesome. Just imagine Brendan Fraser in a chef's hat shooting salt & pepper at giant CGI hot dogs.

wow, backstory huh?...
years ago a man was cursed by an evil witch and forced to live as a mute with a large plastic king head?
an experiment in the secret burger king labs went horribly wrong bringing to life the buger king mascot statue?
as fortold by the proficies, the ancient god king of bugers has returned to earth to wreak havok?
average joe six-pack down on his luck gets offered the deal of a life time by the burger king corporation:stay the burger king mascot for years and stalk people in they're own beds to promote they're food and get payed a lifetime of burgers and free room and board??
can't wait to see how they pull this one off..
and yet the pillsbury doughboy once again gets put on the backburner-no pun intended...

They could do a horror film parody. McDonalds employees wind up missing, and the King is the only one at the scene :).

Although I am rather skeptical about the potential quality of a movie dealing with the Burger King, I do have one caveat for them to follow:
The King should NEVER speak. I want the 90+ minutes or so of the movie to have a mute protagonist, because the King is at his best when he doesn't speak.

A movie involving The King can either be the greatest movie ever made or the worst. There is no in-between option when it comes to someone as godly as him.
I agree with the notion that he shouldn't speak at all in the film. Anyone who watches should be able to interpret what he says through his motions.

Is that true? They're one of the biggest things around here in Texas, I never realized they weren't nationwide.

I've never seen one in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, virginia, and of course Maryland. The only time I've ever seen a JitB was when I went out to California.
According to Jack in the Box's website, here's where there are Jack in the Box restaurants:

Well then if Jack was running for President for the United States, he would be able to get a lion's share of the Electoral College. So then Why not do a Movie where Jack (in the Box) runs for President.. and call it... Citizen Jack...
