I guess that's what the Japanese think stereotypical American animation looks like?
Guess it is only fair; many American cartoons make fun of anime in a similar fashion. An eye for an eye?

If it is a take on American Animation, it's kind of ironic. I mean PPGZ is a redesign of an american cartoon shown done in anime style. So they're pretty much parodying American animation which is actually they're source root in the first place. Kind of the whole "bite the hand that feeds you thing" though the original PPG also made fun of Manga. In the "Super Zeroes" ep with Harmony Bunny and all. Not to mention the hentaiesque images in "Subsitute Creature".

Methinks they are mixing American *comics*, which indeed do look like that often, with American *animation*.
They did something similar in an episode of Excel Saga with a Wonder Woman parody.

I think it looks more like the standard 80's "macho blood N guts" anime style, like Fist of the North Star or something. The shading looks very 80's to me.

You might think it's unfair that the Japanese have a warped view of American cartoons. But pot, kettle, black, and that jazz...:D

Going on a semi-serious note, judging from the schedule, PowerPuff Girls Z might go past the 52 episode mark. Though I'm unsure if it'll be done in similar fashion as Ojamajo Doremi, Precure, or what. Guess we'll have to see.

Lets see, latest episode, 36. Octi makes his grand entrence (and I do meen as much), Him's portal thing speaks in japanese emoticons and Momoko's gym shorts suddenly geting a heart shaped hole in them.
Sounds just about right, realy.
