Stimpy and Spongebob: similar or dissimilar

Okay, I do not know if this has ever been brought up before, but I was wondering does anyone the facial similarities between Spongebob Sqaurepants and Stimpy the Cat? The cartoon show, "Spongebob Sqaurepants", has been often compared to "Rocko's Modern Life", but can also be compared to the Ren and Stimpy Show" easily: Ren and Squidward, Stimpy and Spongebob, Mr. Horse and Patrick, Powdered Toastman and Mermaidman, the music, etc. But, I notice that with Stimpy and Spongebob, it is not only the genuine, hardworking, passive personalities, but also facial similarities (maybe bodily similarities too, since they are both round, but not as much). Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

Oh, man. Thank you so much for telling me. I was just browsing the sections, and I thought this thread was deleted. I thought I did place in the Nicktoons section, but I did not.
