And the prize for Round One goes to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Now, bring on the next contenders!
Men in Black for me. I recently bought this on DVD, and it just reminded me how great that movie was. The Mask came so very close, but if I had to choose between Tommy Lee Jones and Cameron Diaz... well, I'd go with Cameron Diaz, but Tommy Lee Jones is more fun to watch on film.

I voted for The Mask. I know it's different from the comic, but I personally think it's better. It's probably one of the last good Jim Carrey movies, and Cameron Diaz has never looked hotter than she did in that movie. :nurse:
I also like (yes) Spawn, Timecop, Richie Rich, and Judge Dredd, in that order.

The only movies on this list that I can stand to watch are The Mask and Men In Black. I voted for Men In Black.

Oh it's gotta be Men in Black. No debate here for me.

The original Alex Proyas The Crow is excellent. I never saw the sequels.

Seems there's a consensus here.

I voted for Judge Dredd. I first saw it as a kid and loved it and still do to this day. And yes I do know it is universally hated by every known civilization.

Men in black of course.I liked Spawn more as a kid but later on I saw that it wasn't as good as the series.

Definitely Men in Black. It's still one of my very favorite movies of all time.

I love Men in Black, but I went with Judge Dredd. With the possible exception of Street Fighter it's the best bad movie ever.

MIB
shazam! that movie's going to be 10 yrs old this summer:scratchy:
great chemistry between Tommy & Will. and a danny elfman score to boot
The Mask is a hit-or-miss film. Carrey's wild antics were great but the rest of the film was rather boring.
Spawn was a disappointed but i have high hopes for the planned sequel (whenever that screens)
never saw Vampirella (wasn't aware it went to film actually)
never saw the Crow either

And from what I've heard, it's not worth seeing. I've read that Vampirella's costume is different, and it stars Taliso Soto (not a bad choice, really) and Roger Daltrey(!!)

I voted for The Mask. I never read the comic so I don't know how far off the track they went with the movie. But I guess this is about "the best" and not "the best adaptation". I loved The Mask when I saw it in the theaters. I got a lot of laughs out of it. I'm not really into musicals but the musical number with the cops was a laugh-riot! The only really bad part of the movie was the villain; he was boring and took too much time away from Carrey's funny performance.
I thought Men in Black was okay but I wish they had stuck closer to the source material. The comics were awesome, I dunno why they had to change Jay and Kay so much. That said, the first season of the television series was great! I haven't been able to see the rest of that series.
As much as I enjoy time-travel sci-fi, Timecop was kind of boring. Plus, their rules were even more full of holes than most time-travel stories. I did enjoy the television series even though it shared some of the same stupid logic.
Judge Dredd was great up until the point that it became a Sylvester Stallone movie (probably about ten minutes into the film). It was more than just the fact that he took off the helmet. They tried to make it into a serious action-film. Totally wrong for Dredd.
Tank Girl was amusing for a B-movie.
Just to clarify, I've never seen:
Barb Wire - read a few of the comics, didn't even know there was a movie.
Richie Rich / Richie Rich's Christmas Wish - never plan to see either.
Spawn - I'm guessing you don't mean the HBO series (awesome). Never knew there was a movie.
The Crow: City of Angels - I was bored by the first so I don't plan on watching the sequel.
Vampirella - never heard of it.

> I've read that Vampirella's costume is different... <
Probably because there's no way the original would stay in place, if Ms Soto engaged in any activity more vigorous than sunbathing (which seems unlikely for a vampire.)

Nothing particularly stands out to me on this poll... voted for Men In Black.

I loved The Mask and I also kinda like it Judge Dredd. But for me the best movie of this series is indeed Men in Black.

I forgot to comment on Mystery Men. I have a love/hate relationship with this film so I guess that's why I didn't vote for it. I hated the fact that they toned them down so much from the comics -- where were their guns?! On the other hand, I liked Captain Amazing, Mr. Furious, The Shoveler, and especially The Blue Raja in the movie. I also liked how they all interacted in the beginning of the film. But the villain stunk, as did most of the extra heroes added to the team except maybe The Bowler. Except for the opening scenes and the scenes with Captain Amazing, the action scenes stunk, too.

"Well, when you're invisible... you can just FEEL it." (-:
I loved Mystery Men, personally; but then, I'm a sucker for superhero team comedies. (I remember at the time thinking, "Dude, it's like the Tick, only without the Tick in it!")
The Mask still gets my vote; it holds up better than most of Jim Carrey's early wacky-zany stuff when you go back and watch it today, largely because of the fun faux-noir feel it had to it. Also it was one of the first comedies to really push the boundaries of special effects; nowadays when every 30-second TV spot has a CG budget, it's easy to forget just how groundbreaking it really was.
Men in Black was fun and all, but it holds up less well under repeated viewings.
