View Full Version : Another Cast Batman thread

Yes, I know it's another casting thread but bear with me because I've got a (good??) idea. To play Batman you have to have the build, the look, and the attitude. Someone who can properly portray the hard edge of Batman and the vulnerable side of Bruce. I never liked Kilmer or Clooney, there was just no edge (of course they had a bad script...)
My pick would be a better fit IMHO, and he's already put on tights to portray another famous comic hero...
Hugh Jackman.
Maybe it's just because I rented Swordfish last night, but I could see him really fit as The Dark Knight.

I don't see Hugh Jackman filling the cowl right, I just don't see it. However, most of you might think my choices are nuts, but here we go.
Batman/Bruce Wayne- Peter Gallagher
Alfred- Michael Gough or Ian McKellen
Commisioner James Gordon- Tommy Lee Jones
Vicky Vale- Nicole Kidman
or
Silver St. Cloud- Jeri Ryan
The Joker- Mark Hammil or Malcom McDowell
The Riddler- Kevin Spacey
Catwoman- Anjelina Jolie
Two Face- Tom Cruise
Harley Quinn- Madonna
Mad Hatter- Adam West
Poison Ivy- Uma Thurman
Penguin- Danny DeVito (minus the creepy make up)

Ok - we've all seen those OnStar commercials, with Batman in the Batmobile right?
You know something - that guy's not bad.
(BTW - I love how they mention a chance to win a walk-on in the nest Batman movie - as if one is around the corner. Even optimistically speaking Year One has to be a at least two years away.)

Harley Quinn- Madonna
That's a really bad joke.

Wow. That's scary, I was thinking the same exact thing the other day! I totally agree- he's pretty good. Not amazing, but good.

And people are complaining about Batman & Robin.
Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, Madonna, Jeri Ryan and Adam West... Are you sure this a Batman movie? :D
Michael Keaton should reprise his role as Batman, granted he is older, he could still do it.

Ok, I'll admit. My ideas for Catwoman, Silver St. Coud, and the Mad Hatter were bad. Those were kind of jokes. Howver, the others while uncoventional could be good if they put all of their acting skills to the test, really let themselves go, and had an awesome script.

lol! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's thought that the guy in the OnStar commerical might not be bad for Batman...I mean, he pulls it off pretty well, we at least know that he's go the chin for it! It would be great to see Hugh Jackman in anything, since he's one of my fav actors, but he just doesn't fit the Batman role, to me at least. Besides, he's already an icon as Wolverine, and that would be hard to shake off when trying to do a Batman movie. Everyone would like, hey, it's Wolverine! Which I doubt anyone would want to happen. Anyone have ideas for who to play Nightwing or Robin #3?

Don't forget Madonna as Harley. That would be the WORST casting decision in history, I mean, the biggest mistake ever. ;)
I personally think they should have Arleen Sorkin play Harley. She's a little old, but very cute, and she's the only one that could do that voice in a live action movie. Ah, to see a live action Harley...

Actually, both Batman and the Joker from the Onstar ads would be great. Here's a link to the ad with both of them in it. It's in Quicktime.Joker & Batman Onstar ad (http://home7.highway.ne.jp/aard/)

The guy who plays Batman in the OnStar commercials, well yeah, he could do it quite well, and we also know he's already familiar with THE true live-action Batmobile. Robin could be played by... I dunno. The Joker I still will have to say Mark Hamill, I mean we'd get the right voice in there and we already know he can act. ;) The OnStar Joker guy I don't think is very good, kinda cheesy... And for crying out loud, no way can Alivia Silverstone come back for Batgirl! That's just plain cruel!

Actually if you look at her work in Dick Tracy, she might actually be able to pull off Harley. We've never really seen her play a villain, but I think she might be able to pull it off.

But there are so many ways to cackle. :D If you don't do it right, I'm sorry but you're out! I was mostly thinking of the make-up they used, 'course I know they would change it for the commercial but still. *shrugs* Plus if he had that much screen on the commercial....how can one be sure that he would even be a good Joker for a full length movie? :wakko:

Hey, for Nightwing, how about our current Clark Kent from 'Smallville'?(I can't remember his name) He's buff but not to big, the right age, and he's hot.
Harley Quinn- call me nuts but I like Drew Barrymore- I can picture her in the makeup and hat pretty well.

I am not a fan of Madonna as an actress, but Harly is actually the perfect roll for her. If only she were a little younger.
How about Bob Hoskins as Penguin?

I don't know when the last time you guys saw Mark Hamill, but he looks very old and has lost most of his hair. Who knows what they can do with make-up, but I doubt he could pull it off.
