This is the talkback thread for Yoshiyasu Horiuchi Speaks On "Gundam Musou" (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=15635).

This game sounds like it's gonna be alot of fun.

The popular Wing Gundam Zero makes an appearance as well, and I think players will be surprised by its incredible firepower.

God (Burning) Gundam and Turn A Gundam too!

Wow. Never played Dynasty Warriors but I'm big on strategy games, this looks really nice.

Ive played a tad of Dynasty Warriors, and i have friends who love that game.

It sounds diffrent from the other gundam games where its a third person/first person shooter which they have been making for a long time (well besides Ghirens Green, a "Risk" style game).

I just hope it gets ported over here, im sure but it will be a while after it gets to japan. The only problem is, i just hope there still PS3 left in the US by the time this game gets out, and Sony looses a couple hundred bucks twards thier system.

Wow, this looks really sweet. Looks like it could be the first great game for the PS3.

I wonder, when the game is released on the other side of the ocean will the English VA's redub all the lines? I'm good either way, just wondering if they could do it if they wanted to...

More importantly, watch the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G2Oz12ChiQ). So amazing...and what's with Master Asia talking to Heero? :p Wish I could understand what they're saying....

It'd be even more awesome with more mobile suits, but what's here is good. Maybe they'll expand it for a sequel if this does well. :)

I've been waiting for this to come out to import... I'll probably get it next week, and I'll be able to post some impressions.

I will get a PS3 for this!

Im sure it went like this:

Master Asia "The East is Burning Red"
Herro "Ill Destroy You"

Ah, they added in Turn A, but there still no love for Victory Gundam...

While it won't make me plop down money for a PS3 (I wouldn't be angry if they released it on Wii too...), I do remember the first PS3 Gundam game looking kickass when it was first introduced, then it came onto store shelves and was a steaming pile of dung.

Looks like Gundam Musou's doing well in Japan. http://s03.2log.net/home/gunota/flag/jpf.jpg Gundam Musou first day sales UPDATED
While not giving specific numbers, according to the Game Tsutaya Blog (http://blog.tsutaya.co.jp/gtsutaya/3259), Gundam Musou became the first PS3 game to sell over 100,000 copies in its first day of release.

Edit: Shinobi No Enmachou (http://ameblo.jp/sinobi/entry-10026918053.html) reports Gundam Musou sold about 70% of its 170,000-180,000 first shipment, beating Virtua Fighter 5's 30,000 first day sales four times over. It also instantly becomes the 3rd ranking PS3 game in overall sales behind Ridge Racer 7 (Around 130,000 copies sold to date) and Gundam: Target In Sight (120,000). But unexpectedly, even this wasn't enough to drive PS3's system sales as it's said the majority of people bought the game separately rather than with the bundle. ¶ 11:08 PM (http://aeug.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html#8233374733887229013) And apparently Famitsu has given it a 32/40. How much do you bet that if this were released here, all the gaming review sites would have just as low reviews as they did with Crossfire, while that game also did well in Japan.

True dat.

I know a guy who has Crossfire and was upset that reviewers gave Crossfire a lower review than it should be intended (perfect example, IGN review). i dont think the game is all that bad and according to him, it should be given more credit than it was stripped of...

I think it has potential to be the best Gundam game the US has seen. I wouldn't doubt Gundam titles get some leeway in Japan but hopefully we won't see the situation Juu warns where American reviewers will give us the "Avoid this" judgement again.

It'll come down to the gameplay, I think. If it plays like Dynasty Warriors, which is a popular franchise, I think people will catch on.

I mean, really, from what I can tell this is a hack & slash game with Gundams involved. What's to know? Seems like something anybody could get into and have fun with whether they know anything about Gundam or not.

The game seems to have alot of fun with the character interactions. A friend showed me a clip where Domon does his classic Gundam call, then Ple copies it with the Quebely.

You had me at 'Ple'.

Yeah, this sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. Can't wait to get a chance to try it out firsthand.

On occasion, GameFAQ's comes in handy. Here's a thread listing several youtube videos of the story mode, along with translations. A good sneak peak at some (far from all) of the pilot interactions.

I have to say, I smile at the Master Asia stuff. All that's missing is that classic "Super Asia!" line.
