My favorite of them all would hands-down be Batman: The Animated Series...it was just a fantastic show. But after that I'd probably have to say Spider-Man, which was different, but also a very good show, and well-adapted from the comics (with a few minor flaws..where's Gwen Stacy? And the "Mary-Jane's Missing" saga...?)

I think at the end of the day The Maxx was the closest to the comic, but Sam&Max was Up there too :)

Todd McFarlane's Spawn. He took episodes right from the pages of the comic. And it captured perfectly what Spawn is.
Also The Tick.
X-Men and Spider-Man...and Wildcats

Far and away, The Maxx ... which I originally thought was a heavily stylized cartoon at its birth, inspired by the comix medium of the 1990s. As did many of my friends at the time, who had never even seen an issue of any comic since 10 to 15 years earlier! But they raved about every episode just the same. (And IMHO, it was criminal of MTV to pass on the creation of a season two at least...)

I also love the Batman adaption, Superman is great, but Batman all the way! Spiderman has always been a fav of mine, as well as the old X-men cartoon. The new one, though very different, is good, entertaining at least. And yes, the Sailor Moon manga has done quite well as an anime.
