Supergirl vs Batgirl for female sidekick

My friend here of course says Supergirl because like Superman she has super powers which makes her more of an asset. I of course go with Batgirl because she was trained by the master and is therefore more cunning and dangerous. Your thoughts?

I love them both, especially the animated versions. :)

In terms of a fight you mean? That's close, but I'll go with Batgirl. She's WAY smarter (even more so, I think than Bats to Supes) and much more resourceful. I just think Supergirl isn't very bright (I mean, she's a blonde) and she's not as strong as Supes- I just think Barb is too resourceful, and would beat Kara sensless! :p

In terms of looks well... That's another issue worth anylizing... :)

Supergirl is pretty awesome, but I support Batgirl all the way! She is very intelligent, and as great an asset to Batman as Supergirl is to Superman. Babs has great computer skills and a photographic memory. Also, thought Bruce obviously teaches now that she is Batgirl, she trained all on her own to be as good as she is till she was able to get into the Bat-family...invitation or not!

I think Batgirl is dull and Rosie O' Donnel has more sex appeal than her, okay I think I overexaggerated a tiny bit ;)

batgirl....definitely. I never much cared for Kara/Supergirl. Good character, sure..but..come on...she's a wimpy version of superman! And, if Batman can beat Superman up, then I think Batgirl can beat the poo out of Supergirl.. :D

Do you and your friend ever agree on anything. Every "VS" thread seems to be becuase of a dissagreement. If he's a hard boiled Superfan...then it's understandable. Batgirl all the way.

Batgirl, hands down. Supergirl is relatively new at the superpowers/sidekick/Earth thing. Experience outweighs power in the hands of a beginner. STAS ended before Supergirl's power and control peaked. I believe this debate would be closer if Supergirl had half as much character developement as Batgirl.

I do too. They are as much heros as their male counterparts.

Acctually I think they are even. I mean true Supergirl has the ability toBatgirl in half but Batgirl knows Batman and he has the one thing that can kill supergirl, Kryptonite (Assuming that Kara can be affected by it as she was a different planet than Krypton)

They balance each other out.

Batgirl all the way! She's much more resourceful, and doesn't need super powers to fight crime. Don't get me wrong, I like heroes with super powers and everything, but it takes a lot of guts to fight villains with strange powers, when you don't have any.

Batgirl is the better sidekick because she has a more professional appeal. It's hard to take Supergirl seriously as a sidekick because she resembles a cheerleader.
