Well, last night was surely a momentus one....

The party began on the red carpet, where nominees Diana of Themyscira and Barbara Gordon showed off two outfits which saw them earn nominations in the Best Dressed Female category. Both smiled for the camera, but it was Diana who quickly drew the most attention from on-lookers.

...and fellow nominee Bruce Wayne.

Zatanna opened the show in grand style, and awarded Diana with a statue for her sense of style.

Claire Stelton, irritated by the camera men's insistance on capturing her reaction got a little hot under the collar and was escorted from the building. Outside, she demonstrated her distaste for the paparazzi in her own flirty way.

The award for the Best DCAU tie-in comic went to Ty Templeton's first published Batman Adventures story, the fan-favorite "Just Another Night". In honor of his achievement, Best Supporting Female nominee Harleen Quinzel took the stage to perform "Tonight" from West Side Story, in one of the biggest surprises of the evening. Templeton clapped politely.

Alfred Pennyworth was then awarded the Best Supporting Male statuette. Sadly, he hadn't attended the event, preferring instead to remain at Stately Wayne Manor to occupy himself with his usual duties. A video message was played, in which Pennyworth humbly thanked his supporters, and shared the honor with his fellow nominees.

When Bruce Wayne was announced as winner in the Best Dressed Male category, he floored the crowd by appearing as an aged man, circa his performance in Batman Beyond. After the laughter subsided, he credited Alfred for his ability to craft suits that lasted the test of time, defying age.

The last award of the evening saw Harleen Quinzel take the stage yet again, as the Best Supporting Female. She clocked in with the longest acceptance speech, even going so far as to threaten the orchestra with an exploding chicken if they didn't stop trying to play her out. When she thanked her "babies" for their support, they took the stage, closing the show on a bizarre note as she proceeded to feed them as the cameras continued to roll.

Things became especially heated when booing was heard from within the crowd. When the noisy audience member attempted to flee the theatre after being threatened by Harleen, security tracked him to the parking garage where he was unmasked.

We tried to contact Barbara Gordon this morning to ask her about her double loss last night, but she was decidedly not in the mood to discuss the matter when confronted at her home. A "Best Dressed Female" she was not.

Perhaps this was due to the front-page spread on the Gotham Gazette, depicting two of last night's big winners:

Don't worry...I actually didn't vote in the comics category, simply because I couldn't choose between the Freeze issue, the Batgirl/Superman issue and the Supergirl issue. Geez DB!

Next year, there will be different categories.

Yeah but if you have it often it will lose it's glamour and humour, keep it yearly!
