Hey Sunny, can we take it to da bridge...Introducing Class of 3000, Cartoon Network's newest original series starring famous recording artist André 3000 as lead character Sunny Bridges. Sunny's a musician who's taking a break from the big stage to be the new music teacher for a group of seven talented youngsters...
This Week's Premiere: #12 "Prank Yankers"
Airs: Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at 8 pm - Encores: Tonight at 11 pm, Saturday at 8:30 am, Sunday at 12 noon and 8 pm.
Summary: Tamika falls in with two popular pranksters.I'll probably add a generic poll later, as I'm kinda under the weather right now. Also, this is the last new '3000' for at least a few weeks... so enjoy!

Wow. Tamika got used. But at least the musical number is kinda good, with a 50's feel.

Why the title Class of 3000?

It's called that, because it's named for its creator, and voice of Sunny Bridges, André "3000" Benjamin. Sound simple?

The episode was good, but the song brought it all the way down the rating scale.

0/5.

I actually enjoyed this episode. They got the valley girl voices spot on. And I love the visual gags, like how Godzilla had a zipper on his suit, and one of the rooms in Sunny's house is an animation slave room.
A-

BTW: The music video in this episode is still better than the Ninja one.

"Call it a surprise upset. I'm surprised, and you're upset." - Sunny, to Tamika after she's voted class representative.

I hated Tamika. She was by far the least likable person in the music class. But I have to say, the writers changed my mind after this episode - the best of the individual character episodes in this series so far! Okay, so it hasn't done much for her personality, but in terms of likability, she leapt over half the class in one week.

I actually thought "Cool Kat" was fun. Maybe a bit too Barbie-ish or Bratz-ish (not too sure which side to lean it towards), but one of the better songs. (As bad as it was to some of you... be realistic! 'UFO Ninja' is still the most horrible insert song of the show by far.)

I also got a kick of Tamika living in a Snow White-like house. Kinda reminds me of Mandy and her situation (from 'Grim Adventures')... just without the despondence on everything. After all, Tamika just wants to kick the butts of those who annoy her.

The references in the 'crazy door' montage flew by a bit fast... though I did see the 'animation slavery' bit and Philly Phil's venture into a Star Wars-like universe as the most memorable.

"Prank Yankers": 4/5.

I keep thinking Eddie Murphy should be playing her. :anime:

But I did like her home. That made her character just a little more interesting.
