http://library.toonzone.net/talkbacks/spike.jpghttp://library.toonzone.net/talkbacks/tna.jpgTonight Impact continues building up to the Destination X PPV next month. The X division makes a rare main event appearance. While the Samoa Joe/Christian and Angle/Steiner feuds continue. Plus 20,442 other angles as well.
So Bubba is italian now. I don't think he was when he was with ECW/WWE.
What a crappy match. I hope Bobby baccalla gets whacked on the Sopranos for the interference in the belting pot match.
I forgot that Vince Mcmahon alledgly used the "cup of coffee" line when Kurt got fired, till WEst pointed it out. Steiner was his usual hilarious brilliance on the mic.
While its great and all that the X Division get the main event slot, it was disappointing when they cut most of the entrances.
Main event was very bad. Very short and pointless. except for Backlund's Chickenwing. That was good.
While the pacing was better, this was a pretty blah show. Nothing was that great and I hardly laughed at all.

Okay, I know this has been said, but TNA NEEDS two hours. Why would you advertise a ladder match and then have it only be less than 5 minutes long? If there was time, that would've been an awesome match.
And this Sting/Abyss feud has run its course. This could possibly be an early candidate for worst feud of the year. Abyss is a monster, and the audience wants him to stay that way. This definitely won't have any positive effect on Abyss in the future, that's for sure.
And the opening match was terrible. The constant use of celebrities in pro wrestling lately has really pissed me off. I agree with the crowd. "Team 3D sucks". Aside from Angle/Steiner, there isn't one interesting feud right now. I would mention Cage/Joe, but apparently the idea of Joe's first title shot is only important enough to get a one-minute promo.
What an embarassing show to the world of wrestling. That's all I have to say about this week.

The ladder match could have been better.

Work kept me from watching this, but it looks like I didn't miss much. Still, I might try to catch the repeat if only to hear Steiner's usual godliness on the mic.

How should we book the tag team champs? I know, let's have an overweight redneck dominate the monster of the team for the entire match!

He's not a redneck. He's Italian. :)
They really need to cool it with the gimick matches. It's becoming WCW-bad at this point. Not surprising, though, considering who wrote both companies. And I'm not normally a Russo-basher.
I mean, seriously. I take it Sting/Abyss at Destionation X is a "Death Bed Match"? If it is, how is it even possible for Sting to loose? The point is for Abyss to "rise to the heavens" and find his inner self. If Sting goes up there, what happens? He's already good, in storyline aspects. It makes no sense, and thus, I don't want to see it. Much less pay to see it.

It's not a good thing when the highlight of the show is Diego Sanchez knocking out Karo Parysian's tooth in a commercial.
The Elevation-X match could be cool, but I don't see how two guys could really do anything up there but punch each other. The finish should be good however it goes down.

the ladder match, which was supposed to be the main event wasn't only rushed, but felt like an afterthought the way it was treated...they could have cut out the lame ron killings running movie gag, the pcs and the brief pointless tag team match in order to give more time for it. sure vince has five minute main events too, but at least they're built up through the whole show with backstage interviews and shots of the competitors getting ready for it. i realize they only have an hour to do things, but little things that they don't need all the time like i mentioned above could help.
the sting/abyss program just keeps getting worse...the whole thing has degenerated into a b-rated horror movie matinee...there is nothing to justify the 'deathbed match'..i mean, at least make it a barbed wire or thumbtacks bed that you have to throw your opponent on, or do one of those piranha tank matches...if you lose, you're slowly elevated to the ceiling of the imapact zone on a metal frame....it's like a match where your just forcing a bouquet of flowers into the other guys hand and making him walk away with it...
i'll give praise though on the angle/steiner contract sighning...the whole segment turned out great...angle's mic work was spot-on and the fight with steiner and cage was intense and got me really hyped for this match. same for aj's cool promo on top of elevation x, though i agree that the match will have to be severly limited on those planks...they should add a square or round platform to the center of the x for the wresters sakes.

Another 15-30 minutes would help this show a lot. Everything was so rushed this week that I actually forgot what the hell was going on in some feuds. The only good thing was the Angle/Steiner contract signing.

Spike really needs to give TNA another hour or extra 30 minutes atleast.

I liked the opening with A.J. and Rhino, but ‘Elevation X’ sounds like a more complicated scaffold match to me. I don’t know if that’s a good thing.
I’m sorry, but if I’m supposed to be invested in a bunch of Italians fighting with a bunch of Latinos it’s just not going to happen. For LAX, their ethnicity is part of their character, there is no reason they had to say “well Ray’s Italian” and make it some sort of lame race war. And who the hell came up with “belting pot”?!!
Sting reaching out to Abyss is starting to make me sick. I want ‘Chris’ to chose darkness and shut Sting up.
The six-man tag match felt crammed in with basically the heel team having stories and VKM & Hoyt providing opponents to help advance that. Meh.
Abyss taking out Andre Rison would be a big event if anyone actually cared about Rison anymore (sorry Falcons fans, I liked him too). Acceptable cross-promotion, but not a very interesting event.
Paparazzi Idol was just a slight expansion of last week and I suppose that is the point, but it felt recycled to me. Jay Lethal can do Macho Man. We get it. I can too.
I missed who he was talking about (although I assume Joe and Cage) but wrestlers tell Jim Cornette “I’m in training” and he just goes with it?! They need to show up for work!
Buy a cup of coffee with a hunk of gold? I think that would about do it, Steiner. Typical contract signing beat down.
The main event sounded great, but then wasn’t anything too special. Ladder matches are great and all, but lately TNA feels like they are tacking on their main event and then they always need to leave room for the video. I have liked the video, but I feel it is just taking away even more time from wrestling.
I forgot that Vince Mcmahon alledgly used the "cup of coffee" line when Kurt got fired, till WEst pointed it out. Steiner was his usual hilarious brilliance on the mic.I'm really amazed that everyone gives Scott Steiner so much credit for being funny. The way Steiner yells and rants in his promos, it seems unlikely to me that he is attempting to entertain. The guy just gets going and suddenly stops make sense. At that point he's the only one who doesn't realize it.

The point is for Abyss to "rise to the heavens" and find his inner self. If Sting goes up there, what happens? He's already good, in storyline aspects. It makes no sense, and thus, I don't want to see it. Much less pay to see it.Maybe Sting would go away and never come back.
