The Mario series of Nintendo games has produced a number of Bonafide Hits (The super Mario Bros. series, Super Mario World, the Mario Karts), but for all those dynamite games, there are a bunch that are not as well-known or popular. Which ones do you do you consider you favorites

The best on your list is Mario's Picross. That is a brilliant, overlooked puzzle game. Only loosely tied to Mario, though.

Mario Paint. I had hours of fun creating music and animation with that game. Plus the bug-swatting mini-game was a good test of reflexes, too.

NES Open. It's still one of my most favorite golf games.

I remember having a lot of fun with Mario is Missing. If it ever gets on the VC, I might end up downloading it.

Mario Paint should have been ported to the DS as a launch title.

Or used in place of Pictochat.

I'm gonna add Mario Teaches Typing and Mario's Time Machine to that list :D Yeah they weren't really 'Mario', but I had fun with em.

Mario Tennis wheres that

I'd hardly call that "forgotten," considering it spawned sequels on the GBA and Gamecube that are still well regarded.

Port or a sequel (with even more to do) would be great. A system like DS BEGS for Mario Paint dang it!

And that's also my choice but I loved most of those "forgotten titles". Unfortunately I've never played Dr. Mario 64 but I heard its great.

I'll also tip my hat to Mario and Wario. Such a shame it never came to the US.

I loved the Mario's Missing games and though it wasn't as fun Mario's Time Machine was good as well. Updates of those would be great. Heck updates of just about any "forgotten" Mario title would be great.

Wrecking Crew was one of my favorite NES games! Nintendo desperately needs to make an updated version of that game. I especially got a kick out of designing my own levels, too.

Mario is Missing was cool, too. Probably one of the few pure educational games I actually enjoyed. Mario's Time Machine I remember playing too, but it wasn't as good.

Mario Paint is the clear winner in this lot. I do have a soft spot for Yoshi's Safari, though.
