Judging by the title, this episode involves blood and/or sauce.

When the guys discuss what they want to pass on to their children, Bill becomes despondent because he doesn’t have any children. In an effort to cheer him up, they help Bill put together a Dauterive family reunion, only to be thwarted by the realization that Bill only has one living relative. Bill winds up sharing an incredible barbeque with his neighbors and teaches Bobby the secret sauce recipe.
King of the Hill airs at 8:30, right after The Simpsons.

OK, can we finally find Bill a woman?

"But dad, I thought you didn't want me to cook."
"It's not cooking- it's barbeque." :D
EDIT: YES! Gilbert is back!

When they mentioned Bill's family being gone I worried they'd forgotten continuity, but they didn't...they did their homework and left his Cajun roots in. Wow, all those people from "A Beer Can Named Desire" are dead? Grim....in series time, that happened in less than a year.
Shouldn't Bill have gotten some kind of huge inheritance from all that?

This episode made me sad. I wanted Bill to finally tell Gilbert off and sell the sauce. But I guess they couldn't let Bill actually succeed at anything.

Well two of those relitives were not blood related but married to already dead family members. They could have just moved on.
King Of The Hill - B+ I liked this episode a lot. The concept was great, some parts were funny, but the best part of the episode wasn't the humor - but the fact that they aren't forgetting to keep characters in character. Everyone acted just the way they should. That shows amazing writing.
Best Part: Bill and Bobby at the end. Great ending. It made me care about the characters. Good work!

They killed off Violetta? Aw man, and she was such a fox, too.
I'd be mad that Gilbert was such a jerk to Bill, but he's too awesome. And Bill did get a happy ending, so everything turned out okay, for the most part. I loved the panicked look on Peggy and Nancy's faces when Hank told them they had to clean Bill's bathroom.
OK, can we finally find Bill a woman?
Whatever happened to Khan's mom?

Yeah it was good, though I'm really hoping for something...you know GOOD to happen to Bill once in a while, beside making friend with Bobby and passing down his receipe.
Plus Peggy was pretty much non-present which automatically makes this episode a winner. Gawd I hate her!

Pretty good, actually. Hank's opinion on Bobby's love of cooking was really comical ["It's okay, Bobby. It's barbeque"], and Bill's desire for something to pass on was funny.
I was bummed out at the ending though. I was really expecting [and hoping] Bill would ignore the opinion of Gilbert and just go through with selling the sauce, but oh well.

I hate to sound like I'm trying to find things to complain about, especially with an episode that was quite enjoyable (though not an all-time favorite), but does anyone else not like Bill's voice for the last few seasons? It's too high-pitched and, dare I say it, too full of enthusiasm, which isn't really Bill's character. I'm not saying it has to go back to how low and gravely it was in seasons 1 & 2, but something inbetween would be great. Like, um, inbetween seasons 1 & 2 and roughly season 7. :p

Ummm...didn't they already do an episode where Hank was upset at Bobby cooking? I seem to recall that Bobby turned out to be a better cook than Peggy and Peggy started to get jealous because Hank prefered Bobby's cooking to Peggy's.

I hate to admit it...but I'm starting to really like this show.
Peggy still annoys me, but she wasn't in this one too much. However, Hank's attitude towards Bobby all the time over the things he likes/dislikes irritates me (other than that, I love the character).
Anyone else find that annoying?
I felt bad for Bill, but then I realized (like he did) that he had Bobby to pass the family tradition to.

I think I remember that. But this episode wasn't really about Hank not liking Bobby cooking as much as it was about Bill.

Hank is your typical, all american conservative dad. Bobby is the kid that likes all the stuff he doesn't, like cooking, dance, and other "non-manly" things. Their relationship is probably very similar to a lot of fathers and sons over the years.

Well...it was alright. But I also agree that Bill should've sold the sauce anyway and that the majority of this episode was dead air between a good beginning and ending.
The season premiere was funnier.
