What the heck was tonight's episode? An evil grandma, a creepy fast food restaurant? Ugh.
I feel like the only truly likeable character now is Xander, and I'm liking Willow better after she quit magic. And shoot, I'm a huge Spike fan, but why are the writers delegating him to a soft porn star role? He's the most interesting character in the show, do something with him! Oh yeah Anya is pretty cool. And Buffy is good at times. I think it's a problem when a new show like Smallville can make their characters so much more consistently likeable than a show that's been around for 6 years. They better pick it up during sweeps.

It could be worse. They could all be singing again. God, those songs were horrid.

Could be worse?
Buffy's working fast food
Willow 'mysteriously' becomes a hardcore lesbian
Spike has faded away into a 'nothing' as far as his character is concerned
Giles is gone
Xander isn't that bad..anymore...
And an evil granny with a worm sticking out of her head with this weeks villian. Sure, that is scary as hell...but...c'mon!!!!
I think its worse...now..

I watched it and thought, I missed That 70's Show for this?

Well, either way I hated that musical episode. That song Xander and Anya sang makes me wanna curl up into a fetal position in one corner of my basement.
And WHY do Willow and whats-her-face have to be standing together in every shot practically feeling each other up. We know they're lesbians, but stop hitting us over the head with it. It reminds me of a scene with Ellen and Ann Heche from the Simpsons. They're sitting together on a porch swing and they both shout, "We're lesbians!" In the background you hear a cat screech.
Now, the thing is, I don't like Buffy very much. My sister does. But she's very vocal about her love of the show. It's all she talks about. Buffy this and Buffy that. If I see one more Buffy action figure my Star Wars figures are gonna wage war. Worse yet, she actually has a CD with all the songs from the musical downloaded from MP3s! ARRRGGGG!!!!
BTW, ya know that red singing Demon with the pointy chin? Darth Maul should kick his ass.

Well I enjoy Buffy.
There, I said it :p
I thought the episode was okay. They can't all be good and I think tonight was more like a preparation episode of things to come.

You know, I was just about to make a topic like this, but Failure beat me to it. *shakes fist angrily at the screen* j/k
I think this show has completely lost its path. I had just seen the episode last night, after not watching the show for many months. I couldn't believe it... I kept getting angrier and angrier just sitting there :P (it was just one of those moments)
Especially the Spike thing, and just throwing in the sex, for no reason whatsoever, other than because it's a "mature show" and they explore "mature topics". BS!
I think they were trying for an eerie mood, but it just fell flat on me.
Willow was a sad, sad case. To degrade magic to a drug.... no "good" sides, no dark sides.... just substance abuse.... they've definitely lost their path.

I see the show has not changed since I last freed up some elbow room on the Buffy bandwagon.
Tara and Willow's "lesbianism" is still used more for snickers and male pandering more than a serious attempt at exploring their relationship...Spike is still a defanged villain who's "goodness" is an excuse for "depth"...Buffy is still a wink-wink I'm so clever wisebud...and Xander and Anya are trudging through scenes of mediocrity.
That lesbian crap is really just embarrassing...talk about patronizing the audience. Ha-ha, guys will love these two sweating and feeling each other up...not when they're done as ridiculously as this. I could see this coming once they contrived to make Willow a lesbian.
I hear a lot of people liked the singing episode. Well, my take on that is you can dress a girl up, put bells and whistles on her dress and red shoes, have a professional hairdresser perm her hair...all that still doesn't make her any more appealing to me if she's shallow on the inside.

I'll squeek in a second on that. This episode (at the burger joint) was a little, well, off, but I do think they're headed somewhere. What's the Big Bad this season? The Three Losers? I don't think so. I believe they're really taking off with the fact that something happened to Buffy when they brought her back from the dead. She's just not the same (which is evidenced by the fact that Spike can actually hurt her now) and she's having coping problems. The whole thing with Spike is a perfect example. 'Get away' one minute and the next they're doing the nasty. She's going to implode by season's end.
I actually liked the musical episode and I'm still optimistic that the season is only going to get better. The previews for next week looked really good. We'll just have to see.

Well I've got a good amount of Stormtroopers, they'll be happy to battle! :D
I used to watch Buffy but then I realized the episodes were like they were rewritten over and over after each take.

I liked the musical pretty well, also. Buffy's song was the only good song though. But I could see it actually being a hit pop song.
But this season is just floundering. Where's it going? I'll still watch, hoping for more.
The Willow using magic as a drug ep was pretty cool. That was some pretty acidacious stuff while she was tripping. Total LSD reference.

What happened to Willow's girlfriend, Tara?
This week's episode was pretty good. I couldn't believe the scene they showed with Buffy up against the wall like that!
Dood!
All in all tho, Buffy's been lacking in appeal to me. Xander used to be the only one I could identify with, but now he's not really a dork. He's a grown man with a wife and not alot of fun. Part of watching a story is to see characters screw up and see how they deal.
Thank the Matrix for Spike. Buffy was getting way to perfect for me to care about.
