Found this in today's (February 13th, 2007), edition of CynopsisKids!:

Disney Channel has informed us that Pixar's animated movie The Incredibles will make its cable TV debut on ABC Family rather than Toon Disney as initially announced. The movie is set to make its broadcast TV premiere on NBC.

Of course this is more of a reason now to watch ABC Family (hey Superheroes are cool!

Now if they moved Kim Possible over (To ABC Family), that would be so cool if it wasn't gonna hurt us! :D

but your thoughts on this news?

Technically The Incredibles already aired on Encore WAM, so that's a bit misleading. But then again, very few people actually have that channel.

And that is very true, but what gets me curious is the fact that now they are going to be playing this on ABC Family and not Say Disney Channel. After all wouldn't Disney/Pixar get a better viewing audience for say DC rather then Toon Disney (as it was originally Mentioned) or say ABC Family? (I mean there are 85 to 95 million Households that have Disney Channel, 35 or 40 million who have Toon Disney. How many homes have ABC Family? any ideas?

My first thought is that it's not surprising that either a) Disney's press department made another in an ever-growing list of mistakes or b) they went ahead with the TD information until someone thought it through and realized ABCFam was the better choice.

This group (programming / promotions / press) needs a week in the Dr. Phil house to solve its clear dysfunction. Their miscommunication is inhibitive.

Well while it is inhibitive there BR, I bet they don't know that their little 'Faux pas's are costing them a hunk of earning revenue? (and to think this last quarter their financial department reported to the press a totaly income of 1.7 Billion (yes 'Billion') Dollars? But then if that is the case, why are they reporting their revenue correctly (or maybe they are not), while they are cutting press releases to everyone stating incorrect facts? If a Company says a topical Headache cure you can apply directly to the forehead is the answer to Colon Cancer, then isn't that false advertising?

Frankly they don't need a week at the 'Dr. Phil' Camp.. but rather more like ... a month.. or maybe two.

Frankly Miscommunications usually leads to lost revenue.. and It makes me wonder if The Incredibles will even be shown on ABC Family at all (here's the 'FUD' Factor (Fear, Uncertainity, and Doubt), that I keep hearing.. But I'm gonna leave this one open until Disney Channel gets a clue on what they are doing.

Just my thoughts.

My guess is that it is on ABC Family instead of Disney Channel, because Disney Channel is the number 2 cable network (after ESPN). ABC Family is most likely nowhere close. I also think that getting rid of animation hurt them, this could (hopefully) be a test run for returning animation to the network.

But why on NBC instead of ABC, I have no idea.
