I personally like the sound of The Dark Knight. It sounds mysterious and ominous and deadly. However, my friend here likes The Man of Steel because it sounds more powerful and has more of a super hero sound. Any opinions?

They're both cool. Each fits the different type of hero. Didn't Frank Miller come up with Dark Knight? How about Man of Steel? How long has that been around?

What!? The Dark Knight is awesome, dark (surprise, surprise), cool and sweet. The Man of Steel sounds like a statue made out of steel. :)

frankly the Last Son of Krypton is a better name than EITHER DK or MOS

Say hi to your friend for me, Froggy.

No way......the best nickname has got to be "The Maid of Might"! *snickers*

you friend seems aweful biased..it's always Superman for him.. ;)

I'm going with the Dark Knight. then again, I always liked "The Batman" better than "Superman"....

Hey, yeah, when DID those nicknames come around? I think I remember hearing The Dark Knight (and the Boy Wonder!) used on that campy 60's TV show, so it's been around a lot longer than Miller's DKR.
I know most of the silver age heroes have nicknames like that,
(Scarlet Speedster, etc..) So maybe it was a gimmick DC came up with way back when.

Yeah Bird Boy my friend is a bit bias. He likes Supes more than Batman and well I like Batman more so we always disagree!!!!

Wow! it's incredibly all the things that you and your friend talk and have different views on! Certainly makes for a lot of posts to respond to, lol. I've always liked Dark Knight. Man of Steell if good, though I like Last Son of Krypton more then that. But DK just has that mysterious behind it which the Superman names are lacking. But, it also depends on the superhero, because both the names fit well for both of them. And I'd have to agree Nightflower, Maid of Might all the way!
