Just saw this on www.cnn.com (http://www.cnn.com):

The head of Cartoon Network, Jim Samples, has submitted his resignation in the wake of the Boston bomb scare sparked by an advertising campaign.

Maybe his successor will bring Justice League: Unlimited back? We could only hope!

I hate to sound mean but does JLU's cancellation always have to be brought up, even in an unrelated event? The show is gone, people. I'm sorry to hear he has stepped down over such an event.

Doesn't seem that implausible to me. If the New guy loves the DCAU toons he could make nice offer to Timm and co to start making new shows. Turner still has JL posters up in their building. It's a stretch, nothing I would bet on but not impossible at all.

I doubt it. Most of the big names who worked on JLU have probably moved on by now. After all, they've all got the talent to find other work outside of the DCAU.

Good riddance to bad garbage. The genius who cancelled JLU just got cancelled himself. Justice for the League! :D

Guys, just get over it. The whole "Boston scare" was unfortunate, and to be celebrating about it to bring back JLU isn't right.

Besides, Mr. Timm and Co. moved to work on other things.

There's a difference between being cancelled and not being renewed. It's not like it ended on a cliffhanger like countless shows that were told they'd have additional years and then just dumped.

Oh well lets just see what happens, just as long as this new guy understands DC fans and what we want.

If Family Guy and Futurama can come back anything is possible. But I would be happy with a brand new version of the Justice League.

Any improvements would be awesome. The only reason I ever watched Cartoon Network was Justice League, since its gone I never watch it. I hate every cartoon they show except for the few & far between Hanna-Barbera shows that pop up now & then.

shame that they are bowing down to the stupidity of Boston and letting them get away with it.

In reality i kind of think lower of CN and turner networks i general for giving in to such stupid complain about brite lites.

the difference is those shows were being rerun and getting great ratings and great dvd sales.

There's a whole lot more to it than just "Boston being stupid". The simple truth is that the CN guys who devised this stunt, though devoid of malicious intent, constructed devices which, under a scanner, looked remarkably like the FBI's electronic profiles for the Improvised Explosive Devices being used to kill Americans in Iraq. The authorities erred on the side of caution and invoked emergency measures which cost the city of Boston several hundred thousand dollars, and the stunt could have touched off a panic. Should we just tell the taxpayers of Boston they have to swallow that expense? Would you have accused the Boston authorities of being "stupid" if that panic had occurred and someone got trampled to death? People act irrationally under such moments of tension; during the Congressional anthrax panic several years ago, a neighbor of mine called the police, the FBI, and the Center for Disease Control when she found "suspicious white powder"...on her infant daughter's diaper-changing table! It took the Feds HOURS to convince the woman it was just talcum powder -- she just could not understand how they could be so sure of that without calling in the CSI team.

The only people who were stupid here were the CN yahoos who never imagined in a post-9/11 world that hiding unmarked packages full of active electronic gear in a public building might be a bad idea.

It was a very stupid thing, those guys did. Then they're parading on tv like idiots making CN look even worse as these are their employees. So, yeah, I think he more than likely got fired. They give these guys ultimatimums like you either resign or we fire you. If they fire them, there would be some righteous reason for standing their ground, of course, we accepted the obvious.

I'm not going to say anything else on this topic, but the Boston cops ARE stupid yahoos and SHOULD be held accountable for the wasted tax dollars, not CN or their outsourced advertisers.

As for JLU's return, it'll never happen. We might get a DTV down the line, but JLU is over. The creators WANTED it to be over.

Could we at least get reruns of JLU? I don't mind that the show is over, but it'd be nice if we could turn on the TV and catch an episode here or there. If I'm not mistaken, quite a few third season episodes were only aired once.

Also, the promotion for AQHF didn't seem to work very well. They didn't seem to create new viewership:

From Yahoo News (http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070210/suspicious_devices.html?.v=2):

All the publicity over the marketing stunt didn't translate into much of a marketing boost for the show the network was trying to promote. The cartoon averaged 386,000 viewers last week among its targeted demographic of 18-to-24-year-olds, according to Nielsen Media Research. The previous week, the show averaged a virtually identical 380,000 among young viewers.

Then how come the nine other cities that had the devices up not recieve a complaint? I still think Boston overreacted. And since when do the terrorists have cartoon mascots anyway, :p.

And good riddance to Jim Samples. Not for any reason directly connected to JLU, but because he was in charge when CN officially went in the toliet. CN needs to be more like Cartoon Network, not Nickelodeon.

I could only wish that these events would get CN out of the dump they have been. But, then again, we can only hope.

YAY!! Finally that idiot who canned JLU and TT is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes Boston was stupid and overeacted. In a post 9-11 world... I love that expresion because it is funny. It is used as an exuse for paranoia and censorship.

They might have overreacted, but better be safe then sorry! I don't think it's anyone's fault in particular, but those two guys my family saw on CNN was acting like Jokers, and that wasn't right either!
I'm looking forward what the next head of CN is going to do to with the shows we all love to have brung back.

Maybe there could be special DTV releases much like The Ultimate Avengers type storylines. Something to continue DCAU would be good if not JLU itself...track Lobo thorugh space or a series around the GL Corps.

This is great news! Remember everyone under this guy's watch CN gained multiple commercial breaks(instead of the single one they used to have), gave up all the style the channel used to have in favor of turning into something similar to Nick, and added live action. Good riddance!

As for Boston. No other city over reacted like they did. You'd think that after discovering the first add was just a light bright they'd have calmed down.

C'mon, guys. Just because Samples is gone, that doesn't mean Justice League Unlimited is coming back. The show's over, but it had a good run. The new guy/gal won't bring back JLU.
