Solomon Grundy: the big guy from "The Longest Yard"The great Khali? Intereting, but remember Grundy was an american gangster back from the dead. They could use another actor and use special effects to enlarge him and all that.Like the monster in "Van Helsing".

http://vip.lenta.ru/topic/oscar/hounsou.jpgWhat, you mean you don't think Shaq simply OWNED this role? :p (I'm kidding --- believe me, I'm SO kidding!)
I like your list; and I LOVE Bale as Batman. But the one guy I always thought could have been really perfect for Batman was Patrick Warburton.
http://images.zap2it.com/20051213/patrickwarburton_lessthanperfect_004.jpg
He may be too old now -- don't really know how old he is (although he looked like he was in pretty fair shape in the adds for his new show) -- but with that big square jaw, the kind of intense stare that's built into his brow ridge, his Conroy-esque deep bass, he seems to have a naturally athletic build (would probably need to hit the gym some though), the right height --- he reminds me so much of Alex Ross' Bruce Wayne/Batman from War On Crime.

This guy could also be John Stewart Green Lantern. I think Bruce Timm was right putting John to be in JL in the place of Hal Jordan or Kyle Rainer. But if it's going to be a movie only about Green Lanter, I think the way to go has to be with Hal.

Yeah; a lot of folks feel that way. Some even have Warburton as Superman. I guess Warburton's features and general body type can easily lend themselves to many classic superhero profiles.
And let me say that it's specifically Alex Ross' Batman that I'm linking Warburton to, not every comic book version. Ross' compelling uber-photo-realistic style is, I suppose, a natural to define for many people (including me) what a live-action version of a particular superhero might look like. And to me, if you take a look at Ross' drawings of unmasked Bruce Wayne in War On Crime, they so strongly resemble Patrick Warburton that I wouldn't be shocked to learn that Warburton was actually Ross' inspiration for his Batman.

Personally i've never liked Ross simply because heroes are not supposed to be plump or fat even. And wonder woman is supposed to be the most beautiful woman in the DCU, his version of her is really ugly, imho. Ross is trying to be realistic but realistically speaking a person fighting crime 20 hours a day is not going to look like that, they're going to be strong with plenty of muscle

I was watching Firefly the other day. And I think Adam Baldwin (Jayne) would be the perfect Guy Gardner if they ever used him.....

i was trying to be "random" with goldblum (so i could equal the randomness of denzel as green lantern). i never seen any of combs' film work so i couldn't really pick him. maybe they can get combs to dub goldblum when he has the question mask on.

Totally off-topic, but what picture is this, um, picture from?
Also, good calls on Warburton for Captain Marvel, Adam Baldwin for Guy Gardner, and especially Jeffery Combs for The Question.
With The Question's blank face, all of his character has to come from his voice. Nobody is a better voice for the character than Combs.
I doubt a lot of the second-stringers will even make it into the movie (except perhaps as cameos) if they ever do make a film. Even just the "big three" is a lot for a two hour film.

Thats Jessica from Blade:Trinity.
And with regards to the lesser characters. They can easily make cameos. For example the world is being attacked by the aliens. They could show tv reports of say Zatanna or any other hero fighting the aliens.

Thanks. She looks cool, all decked out for battle or something. I haven't seen the last Blade film. I wasn't that impressed by the first two, I guess.
As for the cameos, yeah, but are they really going to get "names" to play heroes for a few seconds in the background? Or maybe I should say, do they need to? Sure, Warburton looks the part but I've always thought his voice was the best reason to cast him in anything.

Not that I mind them, but in the interest of keeping the thread sfw, you may want to find new images for Hewitt, Sanchez and Dawson.
And for the record, while she's dark(er)-skinned, I'm not sure if I could see Rosario Dawson passing for a character of African descent, which is what Vixen is.

Their were reasons I went with certain pics....
-Dawson since she is sporting a similar hairdo to Vixen.
-Hewitt since she is wearing the fishnet stockings Zatanna wears
-Sanchez since I just saw the pic and didn't know how old it was. And she looked good in it. ;)
As for Rosario playing a character of African American decent. Well, you got me there. ;)

I'm not trying to be a buzzkill, but some of these cast pics are way too large. They wouldn't logically have between 10-14 Leaguers in one movie; unless each hero were to only get one line and one scene in the whole thing, or the film is the length of Camelot or The Godfather, there'd be no way they could get all of those characters in a single movie. The characters said to be in the movie are Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Green Lantern. Not much point casting a Hawkgirl or a Steel or a Vixen or a Green Arrow or a Question since they're in all probability not going to be in the film. Keep in mind the movie is going to be based on the JLA comics, not the cartoon show.
And whoever suggested Nightwing, no. Nightwing isn't part of the Justice League, and he never will be as long as Bruce is a member. Dick would never and will never be on the same team as Bruce; that would be redundant and it's a power struggle waiting to happen. Dick knows that, which is why he's refused every offer to join the League. So no Nightwing.

I'm pretty sure that the GL in the movie is going to be Hal Jordan, not John Stewart. Again, the film is said to be based on the comics, not the show. And Green Arrow and Supergirl aren't going to be in it. Arrow supposedly has his own solo feature in the works, and there'd be no point in bringing in Supergirl when she hasn't even been introduced in Superman's solo movie universe yet. Supergirl and Superman would be redundant together on a team of 7 or 8. This movie isn't going to be like JLU, where redundant heroes abounded.

I think I had comment about this before, but, no matter if this movie is based on the comics and not the TV show, they still have to face the same problems that Bruce Timm had to face when he was developing Justice League Animated: Demographics.
In comics, JL is a bunch of white male guys with only one woman, that happens to be white as well. If this movie is supposed to be made for the general movie audience they have to think about demographics. That's why John Stewart and Hawkgirl were chosen for the animated show rather than Hal Jordan and Hawkman.
In my opinion it's more likely that John Stewart is going to be the JL Live Action Green Lantern than Hal Jordan. If it was the case of a Green Lantern solo movie, I would think otherwise, but in the JL, I think John Stewart has more chances.

Either that, or they could just retcon Hal Jordan into a black guy. I'm not saying Stewart couldn't be used, just that I read a press release saying the GL was definitely going to be Hal Jordan. Of course, anything is subject to change....
Personally, I agree with you. I'd rather not see just a bunch of white people in capes saving the planet. I'm mostly African-American myself, so I'd certainly be open to an integrated League. On the subject of Wonder Woman, I once saw a fake JL movie poster somebody made with Photoshop; in it, WW was black (I think the guy just doctored a photo of Venus Williams, but I digress.) That'll probably never happen, but for one wouldn't mind seeing a black Diana.

I prefer anytime John Stewart as GL as a black Hal Jordan. Anyway, they kind of retconned Hal Jordan as black when they created the military background for John. Hal was a military guy as well.

Making Diana African American would be go too far. I think a balanced League could be:
Superman, Batman, WW, John Stewart GL, Wally West Flash and, if it didn't became too crowded, Aquaman.
