- Huh. The original Dirty Pair manga are getting printed by Dark Horse. I kind of liked the remix Adam Warren did for them all those years ago. Not sure if I liked 'em enough to try for the originals, but it's still an interesting thing to see in the solicitations.

- New Usagi Yojimbo collection. Whoo-hoo!

STAR WARS: REBELLION #6

this month's star wars 30th anniversary collection rant:
YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. volumes 2-5 are being called "the best of Dark Horse's Star Wars graphic novels". all of which take place 1000 years before a new hope and prequel era stories. if i'm not mistaken its the 30th anniversary of STAR WARS (a new hope). why didnt they start/only focus on original trilogy stories? i had high hopes for this line, i was really really excited for it. i had no interest even with volume one, but that was an out of print story. i was expecting dark horse to be focusing on out of print material as well. fortunately there is hope that we will get original trilogy stuff since all these 30th anniversary seem to be going in chronological order. don't screw up the 30th anniversary of star wars dark horse.

Conan #40: Another side story featuring King Conan?!? How long does it take Cary Nord to finish an issue anyway?!?

Conan and the Midnight God #5: I'm happy this is the last of the Conan mini-series for a while. Bring on the King Kull ongoing series!!! :)

The Great Adventure of the Dirty Pair: Ah, the Dirty Pair novels, FINALLY available in English! I'm loving the Vampire Hunter D novels being translated into English, and this is another must have for me.

On the "Maybe I'll pick it up, maybe I won't" list:

Aliens Omnibus Vol. 1: It's great that the old Aliens mini-series are finally getting brought back, but I have the distinct feeling the edition of "Aliens: Outbreak" that's included here is the revised edition made after "Aliens 3" came out, (which I can't stand).

That's not manga, that's the original illustrated novel (think DH's Vampire Hunter D books).

I think the idea of the 30th anniversary books is to finally collect and republish stories that haven't been available for a long time. Obviously directly calling it "the best of Star Wars" is silly, but I do think the hardcovers are relevant and interesting. I wouldn't buy Dark Empire again, but I'll happily pick up these collections.

Anyway, here's what I'm picking up:
