I was just reading the thread on the JL board about who was the greatest villain so far and I began to wonder who was the greatest villains of STAS?
Personally, I'm kinda stuck between Lex Luthor, Braniac, and Darkseid. Maybe your thoughts and opinions will help me decide.

Without a doubt Darkseid. He manipulated events and their first meeting is unforgettable. I love how Darksied forces Superman to his knees. It's so evil so....perfect. I'd love to see more of Darkseid in the comics, but they way they handled Darkseid in the animated series has been perfect.

its Darkseid
NO ONE matches up with Supes the way Darkseid did
when superman, at their first meeting, asked "who are you" Darkseid replied by blasting Superman to his knees with Omega Beams and said "that is who I am"
no one can talk like that if they arent the best baddie on the block

Darkseid????? he was great, but Lex will always be superman's ultimate villian. and the way he was portrayed in stas was soo awesome. look at the first season eps that featured lex, he was a real bad a%%.
plus, in legacy, he had a pretty nice role, even though darkseid was the main villian.
its almost not fair to compare darkseid to luthor, i mean darkseid's a god afterall. but i still think luthor was overall a better villian in stas. he was responsible for alot of other supervillians, and he was just portrayed great. and i loved mercy as well. watch the early eps, he has mercy do alot of killing for him, its awesome. peace.

I would have to say Darkseid as well. He's evil personafied.
Brainiac

I'm sure everyone's gonna hate me for these, but I don't particularly like Darkseid all that much. He's not a bad character, I just like villains like Lex Luthor/Brainiac better...

My money's on Darkseid. Although Brainiac comes in at a close second.

It's Luthor. Always Luthor. This is most evident in the first episodes of Superman--before Darkseid and his cronies stole Lex's thunder (as well the thunder from all of Supes' other foes).

Karkull, who's the shadowy figure in your pic?
My vote goes to Brainiac for direct involvement in the destruction of Krypton. Technically, he can't be blamed for anything he does because he is only following his program, but just the same...he's evil.
Darkseid I haven't seen much of, so the last issue of Superman Adventures will give me an idea. He' s a hugely powerful space monster/guy...yet I don't find him too too impressive. It's kinda like Bane...he's custum-made to be "The Worst" so I tend not to appreciate him as much as say Brainiac or Luthor. It doesn't take super-powers to be evil...right Lex?

Well, it's gotta be Luthor for me. All though i loved how evil Darkseid was, there's just something about Lex that makes him Clark's worst enemy. I'd say Darkseid as a close second, but Lex is number one.

For reasons aforementioned I must also surrender to Darkseids supreme evil.
But probably my favorite villain to see pop up was Mxy. He was by far the most fun villain of all the animated shows (but not the FUNNIEST that was Joker.) Then Brainiac comes in a close 3rd.

That's Ian Karkull, a Golden Age adversary of Dr. Fate. Apparently Timm took his name and attached it to the Cthulhu-like monster he designed for The Hand of Fate.
As for Superman's top villains, I have to say that Luthor is first, followed by Brainiac, then Darkseid. Sorry, Darkseid, but you're Orion's archenemy, not Superman's.

He brainwashed Superman into thinking he was his son and then set him loose to conquer Earth, dooming the lives of everyone, including Clark's friends and family.
All you Darkseid fans, hightail it over to the Comics board and vote for Darkseid in the John Delaney sketch poll! Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that Darkseid is the best choice on there, but Darkseid is the best choice on there.
