They're redoing a good friend/classmate/teammate of mines house. They lived in a small house with no heating or electricity. Their mother works a nurse, does charity work, never misses one of their football or basketball games. She somehow managed to send her children to an expensive small private school (only 22 seniors).
The thing that strikes me the most about this is that even though I've known their family for the last 6 years, I'm finding out about most of this just now, because they never gave any indication that there was this much wrong. I did know that they weren't very well off, I had no idea it was to this degree. Simply an amazing family.
