Well, it's an okay start, but it was essentially an issue long fight scene between Sabertooth and Wolvie. The biggest question I have is what the heck that "dream" is all about in the opening pages. Here's to hoping we get more revelations in the next few issues: We already have long known that Sabertooth was responsible for the murder of Silver Fox, (except isn't she still alive? Bah!!! I wish someone would address that aspect)...but I guess they did confirm in this issue that Sabertooth is NOT Logan's brother or father or clone.
The back-up story was rather pointless...I like McGuinness' artwork, but they colored it in the "old-school" style which looked horrendous, and it served no point, (other than perhaps this being the one and only time we'll see a crossover between the Ultimate universe and the regular Marvel universe...)

It caught my interest, but the ending kind of ruined it for me. It doesn't seem like that should have been a cliffhanger, but rather a set-up for something on the next page... I even tried to read past it, missing the tiny "to be continued" tag.

It’s time for round two -- at thirty thousand feet. As Logan and Creed continue to up the ante on their latest death match, a third party lurks outside the ring. An entity whose power, guile and sheer iron will is unlike anything either has encountered.

As I mentioned above, this storyline is horrendous...it's why I stopped posting the solicit info for it with part 3. But I figured I'd double check now that it's over to see if anyone else has bought this storyline. The only good thing about it was Bianchi's artwork.

I'm shocked there's such a sword that can block regeneration once struck upon a person who can regenerate. I'm more shocked that they killed off Sabretooth.

I'm shocked there's such a sword that can block regeneration once struck upon a person who can regenerate. I'm more shocked that they killed off Sabretooth. The sword was revealed in Wolverine Origins. I am glad they killed Sabertooth, but I will be counting days until his coming back. No one stays for dead long in Marvel.

Am I the only one not really impressed with the artwork? I don't really like Bianchi's depiction of Wolverine and I was actually disappointed to learn that he'll be taking over the art chores for Astonishing X-Men. Of course I found the writing to be a bit pedestrian as well. I thought tagging the end of the issue with that blatant "Romulus" scream was a bit laughable. I'm not sure why Loeb's script work have taken a bit of a dive but they are not improving here either. I'm glad I didn't buy these issues but read them for free at the library.
