THQ and BAM! Entertainment announced the same week their plans for upcoming video games based on today's top cartoon properties, but for the first time, this may not be something to dread!
THQ's Scooby Doo for the Nintendo Gamecube is approaching in the summer. Adopting the 3D Platformer gameplay, Scooby Doo will be hopping and barking through 12 levels to look for his friends and capture the monsters, ghosts, and goblins, and unmask them!
IGN playtesters have found that Scooby Doo is an excellent game. The graphics engine is colorful and uses plenty of eye candy and well-placed archetecture. The camera system works with minor glitches, and Scooby's control is extremely tight. Ever thought you'd see the day?
In the other corner, BAM! and Aardman have announced a partnership for the next 5 years in terms of multi-product licensing and publishing. BAM! will be making games for the Chicken Run and upcoming Wallace & Gromit movies, as well as any other movies Aardman will think up between now and 2007.
Chicken Run will likely be for Gameboy Advance and Nintendo Gamecube(as there are already Chicken Run games for Dreamcast, PSX, and N64). There isn't any information on the games outside of this initial information, but we'll keep you posted.
